After 26 years as the trophy wife of a powerful man, Mary Davis is both a widow with no sense of identity and a mother who doesn’t know how to bridge the gap between herself and her increasingly distant daughter. When Mary finds a framed motto promising that “It’s never too late to be who you might have been,” she is haunted by the memory of an old flame and guilt over the way things ended … between them. In a desperate attempt to reconcile the past and find a new future, Mary returns to Paris, the city where she won and lost her first love. Paris will change everything for Mary and her daughter, in ways neither could imagine.

It was a really great story about finding yourself after years of meeting someone else’s expectations.
Wish storyline was longer
Reading about Paris and the sites reminded me of my brief time there. It made me want to return.
A lovely story with a somewhat predictable ending, but the story that takes us there introduces us to personalities exposing “who” these people are. A bit of romance never hurts, but best for me is that I can count on Stephanie Grace Whitson to provide a story that will reward me no matter the genre. I believe I have read over a span of years, every book she has written.
Loved the story line. the ending caught me off guard but loved how the characters grew through the book.
I liked the way some of the characters struggled to understand or develop their faith in God. I think we have all been in those shoes at some point in our life.
Stephanie Grace Witson is a new author to me. She is a fantastic author. I learned so much about Paris….awesome. The story just flowed, I did not want to put this book down! I finished it quickly and bought the second book in this series. Hilltop in Tuscaney was so informative also. This second book took different turns and twists, eventually coming to a surprising and beautiful ending. I will continue to read more books from this author!!
The setting and characters were so enjoyable …. I felt like I’d been to Paris. The mom and daughter struggles were something I could relate to and the conflict between daughter and fiancé was well depicted. I lenjoyed reading this book.
This was a late night calling for several days I enjoyed the reunion between Mother and daughter and past love
The characters were appealing, the setting was lovely, and I was charmed by the idea of returning to a former loved setting after a lifetime away.
I really like this book. The characters were interesting and warm. The author really made me care about what happened to the characters in this book. I would highly recommend it.
I liked this book, and the characters. It’s not too often in life we get second chances. However, Mary and several other characters got to as well. Loved it.
Felt like you were really in Paris. Gives hope to people who want second chances to re-invent themselves.
A very easy book to read and it held my interest. A good story of family and forgiveness.
This is a realistic approach of how one decision can influence so many lives. A very good read. I’ve purchased the next book. I want to know the complete conclusion to all who were affected. Well worth your time & money.
A very skilled writer.
I enjoyed this book. The author included enough information about Paris to make the story believable. It was encouraging to read of an older woman who realized that life is to be lived to the fullest and set out to do exactly that.
Well developed characters and believable story line.
Very believable, intimate and absorbing. Loved the story. Makes me want to read more about the characters.
Loved the house keepers insight. Wish the book would have gone into more detail regarding the marriage and the daughters relationship with her mother in childhood. Felt the book dragged thru-out. I will not read the next book.
