Love the game, not the player. It’s always a bad sign at an interview when your would-be employer orders you to strip—especially if the job is as the nanny to a grieving little girl. It’s even worse if you’re tempted to do it.Zach Pennington is a football star and now, suddenly, a single dad to a niece he barely knows. He’s also the most arrogant, clueless, vulnerable, sexy, stubborn, big-hearted … sexy, stubborn, big-hearted man I’ve ever met, but Payton needs me, and I know what it feels like to be orphaned.
I just have to remember Rule Number One.
Zach might be a great player, on the field and off, but I know better than to fall for your boss.
By the way, I’m proud to say that I didn’t strip for him—then.
A GAME CHANGER is a standalone, 32,000-word romance novella. It’s got a sexy football star, a sassy young nanny, and a cutie-pie little girl. There may or may not be muffins and/or penguins.

*KU read
I have read Nikky Kaye before, and although it has been a while, I know I liked her books. I picked this book up after I finished a profoundly dark book, and I was looking for something light and quick. So I KU’ed this one, and I have to say I was disappointed with this story.
I enjoy nanny stories and am a sometimes a sports romance reader, so I thought what the heck. But Game Changer did nothing for me. Zach is a total a** throughout 85% of the book. And Emma doesn’t do much about it. She is not the strongest main character, and Zach takes over the majority of the book.
I did finish this story, but if it had been any longer, I probably wouldn’t have.
I received a review copy before release for an honest review.
Well this is a new author for me and to be honest I am not sure how I felt about the story.
It stars Emma who is a nanny and she gets hired when Zach’s brother and sister in law both die very suddenly and leave his 5 year old niece in his care.
His niece lives in Colorado and he lives in Florida. When they die he is a star football player and he ends up having to move to the team his team beat in the NFL game. So they are not happy to have him join them. Plus he hires Emma to mother his niece and she does an excellent job but it takes him a while to get into being a replacement dad. Plus he fights his feelings for Emma until he can’t anymore.
This is a novella story and its told pretty well. But I felt the depth of the characters was not there. I just did not connect with the characters and I really was not sure why. I liked Emma definitely but Zach I was kinda iffy on. His brother dies and he doesn’t seem that sad. He is more sad about uprooting his life. This was a very heavy subject, and I just felt it should have been more emotional and I did not see that in the story. I actually liked Anderson, who is Zach’s PA much more than I liked Zach.
Still with all that if you like nanny and suddenly sports heroes becoming instant dads this was a story you might enjoy.

I really liked the story! it was short, sexy and sweet!
One second can change the course of so many lives. A Game Changer marks the beginning of new kind of life for a heartbroken little girl and her clueless, yet adoring Uncle. Here’s the story of how three strangers became a family. One young girl changes the trajectory of two lost hearts. Kaye does it all. She touches your heart, stirs your senses and inspires your soul. All while making you think and doling out smiles. From first time read to one click author, I can’t wait to see what’s next.
