This firefighter has the perfect gift for a single mom and her little girl – if they’ll take him. A holiday story from New York Times bestselling author Vivian Arend. All Bradley Ford wants this holiday season is a date or three with sweet Hanna Lane. He’s the new fire chief, recently returned to Heart Falls to help his father after an accident. And while he wasn’t expecting to find someone like … expecting to find someone like Hanna so soon, Brad’s certain that Hanna—and her adorable daughter, Crissy—are perfect for him and his plans to settle down.
Hanna’s been taking care of herself since she became a single mom at sixteen. The only pure, honest love she trusts is her little girl’s, but for the first time in eight years, her libido flares to life. Something about Brad draws her like a moth to a flame—which is always a bad idea for the moth.
When a fire leaves Hanna and Crissy homeless, Brad offers them shelter at his family’s homestead. Crissy insists they’ve moved in with Santa. Hanna’s not sure how she keeps ending up under the mistletoe with Brad. And Brad? He’s hoping for the best Christmas gift of all…

I have enjoyed reading Vivian Arend since I found the Six Pack Ranch books. This was no different, I liked learning about Brad and Hanna’s story. I’m not sure that I would have been as patient as Brad but he really showed what kind of man that he was. Hanna and her daughter were just what Patrick, Brad’s father, also needed in his life too. If you want a feel good, sexy read for Christmas, this is the one for you.
If you are looking for a book that is just an amazing read
that leaves you filling great than don’t go past this one.
Hanna is a single mum who had a child when she was still
very young herself and got kick out of home.
She was making a live for herself and daughter in Heart Falls.
Bradley moved back Home when his Dad was hurt and he was read
to move back after his training as a EMT and Firefighter.
Just before Christmas the building she was living in was destroyed by
fire and Bradley rescue her daughter.
This book had me feeling like I was there watching the relationship between
all the characters come to life.
I would definitely recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
A good old fashioned love story. When tragedy strikes, Hanna is offered a safe haven for her and her daughter. But how will she resist the very HOT firefighter, while living with him? Brad doesn’t know what happened, one minute he was comforting her and the next minute she’s moving in. Their chemistry is undeniable. But will it be enough to get past the wall she has put up?
Hanna and her daughter Crissy live in an apartment. When a fire destroys everything they own, she receives an offer she can’t refuse, all though she probably should. Everyone in her life has let her down, she doesn’t know if she can survive, if it happens again.
Brad is a firefighter. He moved backed home when his dad got into an accident and needed him. He was ok moving back home, because he had had his eye on Hanna for sometime. So when her apartment catches on fire, he offers her to stay with him and his dad. Now he has to play things cool, so he doesn’t ruin anything before it gets started.
I just enjoyed reading the book and was anxious to get to it each day. It was very smooth to read, and still had good anticipation in it too!!! Actually, very fun to read!!!
Loved it.
When a single mother looses her home and her daughter is rescued by the firefighter he invites her to stay on his Fsrm with him and his father. He has been interested in her but due to her past experience with a man she is skidish but agrees since he lives with his father. Can she trust again and fall in love not only with him but with his father and ranch and her daughter loves his father. Recommend
Four and a half stars
A Firefighter’s Christmas Gift by Vivian Arend is a lovely small-town Christmas story about Hanna Lane and her eight-year-old Chrissy, and firefighter Bradley Ford and his father Patrick, who are able to offer these two shelter when a fire destroys their apartment.
Vivian Arend’s characters are beautifully written, and the pleasure of their growing connections and slowly unfolding feelings make for a sweetly charming and hot holiday novella. A keeper!
I’ve been getting the itch to start reading Christmas themed books, so when the chance to review A Firefighter’s Christmas Gift came across my desk, I didn’t have to think twice. A Christmas story and one of my new favorite authors… I’m totally in.
A Firefighter’s Christmas Gift revolves around Brad and Hanna. Brad’s the local fire chief and is seriously attracted to Hanna and wants the chance to get to know her and see what happens. And then there’s Hanna. She’s a single mother with limited, and negative, experiences with men. She’s not sure what to make of Brad’s attention and is a little wary.
The romance between these two is cute. I really like how Brad was gentle with Hanna. He took his time, didn’t pressure her, made her feel important and cherished. Hanna, while starting out pretty skittish, realizes that Brad has some honest intentions and opens up to the possibilities. It was enjoyable to see her bloom under his attention and the love grow between them.
In all honest though, I think the stars of the story could be the secondary characters. Patrick, Brad’s dad, and Crissy, Hanna’s daughter, just made me smile. These two rounded out the story and actually enhanced the story. And then throw in all those warm Christmas feelings, and I was happy to be peeking in on this moment in their lives.
This book is part of a new holiday series and fits into Ms Arend’s Heart Fall series. It definitely stands on it’s own and I know I can’t wait to read more about this town. If you’re a fan of small town romances, you might want to check this one out.
My review originally posted at Romancing the Book.
Brad and Hannah were wonderful together! Add in Chrissy and Patrick, and this little story was overflowing with holiday charm and sweetness <3 Turned way from everyone who should have cared for her, Hannah has been making her own way for so long, she really needs to decide if she wants to let anyone in her heart. Brad has wanted Hannah since he has seen her, but just for the attraction he feels for her, but for the woman she is overall. A nice slow build-up, and no waffling from either of these two once they make their decisions
Enjoyable!
A MUST read story of love and community.
Ms Arend writes the type of stories about people and places that are so good, I really want to live there.
A real feel good, heart-warming sweet read that just makes you tingle all over and leaves you feeling content and happy.
Three wonderful characters are the crux of this story but all the others help make this story as good as it is.
The strength of friendship and love shines through in this story. The support given in a time of need and the absolutely beautiful cafe scene part of this story where the children give up a gift for Christmas and give them to Chrissy was just so sweet.
Love what a gentleman Brad is and so glad it is Hanna who steps up to move their relationship on.
Hope Mark the brother gets his story one day.
This is my honest review of this book I was kindly gifted but I will be buying it.
Liked the story very much. Wonderful characters…
well written
Great beginning to the series.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
The characters + storytelling were so charming a minute
Hanna was attracted to Bradley, but she has been hurt before.
Bradley is totally almost in love w/ Hanna.
He knows that he has to go easy on her, but she is worth it.
( Naughty, naughty mistletoe )
This was such a sweet Christmas story.
It has all the ingredients that you need for an awesome book!
I loved this book!
Loved this!!! The magic of Christmas shines through in this story and warms the heart. This is just so good that it is hard to just pinpoint why I love it because I love every single page. I love the the plot focuses on the couple without be boring, they come across as a very realistic couple. Brad is so patient with Hanna. Hanna is skittish and rightly so, a great mom and her daughter Crissy is such a ray of sunshine. I agree with the author, Santa definitely gets around and has a special kind of magic that makes people happy (paraphrase). Very well written.
This was such a moving story. Growing up in a single parent home, I understand how hard it is for Hanna to get by. She is lucky. She has good friends and a man who adores her. But she needs to figure out how to let go of the past.
Rejected by the boy who got her pregnant and then abandoned by her parents, I feel for her. She’s had to do everything on her own and at such a young age. Now Brad wants to help her and be more to her than just a friend. Can she allow that? Will she be able to put aside past hurts and see where this can go?
The fire destroyed her belongings but it didn’t destroy her will or her love. Only time will tell if Crissy gets her Christmas wish.
This is Book 1 in the Holidays in Heart Falls series and can be read as a stand-alone book. This is one holiday story that you won’t want to miss because it will definitely put you in the holiday mood of giving. Brad is a firefighter and moved back to Heart Falls after the death of his mother so that he can help his father. There he meets Hanna and her daughter, Chrissy. Hanna has had a hard life since she was kicked out of the family when she became pregnant at 16 years old. She’s worked hard and made a good life for her daughter but now things out of her control are happening. Brad knows what he wants but he knows that he must go slow and not spook Hanna. If you love a sweet, slow burn type of romance, then you need to get this book. Vivian Arend has put her awesome touch to her writing again and gives you a book that you can’t put down.
***5 Stars***
If you’re looking for a feel good Christmas themed romance then this is the one for you. It was a fun, sweet, low on angst, but high on heartwarming moments read that I devoured in no time flat and wanted more of even after there no more words to read.
I adored Brad and Hanna. ADORED. Brad is simply a good man. When he decides that he wants something he doesn’t back down, but for all his stubborn determination he isn’t overbearing. He takes in everything that is going on and goes with the flow. Hanna is a strong woman. Getting pregnant as a teen and being a single parent hasn’t been easy, but she’s done everything she can to ensure her daughter is happy and healthy. She’s sassy and sweet and despite the hurt that she carries on her heart, she doesn’t allow it to turn her bitter.
Their journey to their HEA was a lot of fun to experience. While the reason why they ended up cohabitating was heartbreaking, their journey definitely fell on the low on angst side of the spectrum and I loved watching as they got to know each other. It was definitely slow burning, but well worth it to watch as they showed each other who they were and realized how well they fit together in every way.
This was a fun, sweet read and had everything in it that I love about the author’s writing. Clean, no muss, no fuss romance and filled with characters you come to love. Crissy, Hanna’s daughter was absolutely adorable and Patrick was awesome! I loved hanging out with the Heart Falls crew and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!
