An intricate plot with a good B plot.Frank Harper is not the kind of guy that you’d want for a best buddy. He drinks too much, he’s not friendly to strangers, and he doesn’t want to get involved with helping solve a local kidnapping. But he loves his daughter and grandchild, so he grudgingly agrees to help the local small town cops who are in over …
Very good book, a page turner, keeps you guessing to the very end!
This was my kind of book: characters with depth, and a nice plot with plenty of hints to keep you guessing and twists to keep you going.
Good book. Well written. Interesting characters.
Loved this book. I was sorry when it ended. Great writing!
Good read. Well written, and keeps up the pace
Enjoyed this mystery and unlike some reviews I read could understand Frank’s issues. PTSD is real and many handle it different give credit he finally tried and he was a pretty brilliant investigator although rusty at it. A few if police procedures were a little unrealistic to me but then I am not a police person.

The repetitive detailing of the washed-up cop’s alcoholism, negativism and depressing existence at the beginning was a real downer and didn’t draw me …
Nothing special but well written.
A little slow to start, but I loved Frank. I will definitely read more in this series!
