Ex-cop Frank Harper doesn’t want to get involved. Harper is visiting the small Ohio town of Cooper’s Mill, trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter and a grandson he’s never met. But he finds the town gripped in fear-two young girls have gone missing, taken in broad daylight from a busy street. And the police are coming up blank. Great read, down to earth. Enjoyed following Frank through his journey
This was extremely slow reading for me. It was hard to get interested in the main character. He was so busy feeling sorry for hisself I got tired of the whining. While I love serial books I seriously doubt I will read the next one in this series.
Loved the main character . I can hardly Wait to finish the series
The book was good but once again the ending was a let down. You barely knew the person who was guilty,it was like it didn’t matter
Good story- kept me guessing
I really liked this book!! Frank wasn’t easy to like at first, but at the end he was great! This book kept you guessing until the end! I can’t wait to read another book from this author, especially one with Frank in it!
Good story about an investigation.
I really liked reading this book. I am looking forward to reading the next one. It keeps you thinking and engaged until the end. When it ends you definitely want more.
Realistic
A drunk, estranged, almost retired cop father pulled into a small town kidnapping. My father was an alcoholic, and I can say this character was spot on.
I can only give this a 4 because there were parts of it that were unrealistic and the main character was a little too “black and white.” Either he was very, very good or he was in the bottle. I do look forward to reading the other books in this series as the book did keep you guessing right til the end and had a real twist at the very end.
Love the Frank Harper Series! Can’t wait for the next book!
Easy to read but ok to put down for a short while. Enjoyed the story although not too surprised at the end.
I couldn’t get into the story ,
A Field of Red is a pretty good read if you can get past Frank being just a little too much. He’s an ex-cop, a drunk, of course and gets roped into a kidnapping investigation. Are there any ex-cops that aren’t drunks?? Frank can’t function without a few drinks to get his brain working.
It has a few things that make me nuts. He finishes the …
