From the New York Times bestselling author of Pucked and A Lie for a Lie, a new stand-alone romance about trading favors, battling wills, and winning love. When I joined Seattle’s NHL expansion team, I thought it was the start of something great. But nothing ever goes the way you expect. Take my introduction to my new neighbor. She came rolling in on the hot mess express at midnight, making a … mess express at midnight, making a racket while she tried to get into my team captain’s apartment. Did I mention that he’s married to a woman who definitely was not her?
Imagine my surprise when I end up with an injury that has me out of the game for weeks, and she’s the one to offer to help me. I should probably add that she’s not the captain’s mistress. She’s his sexy, pastel-haired younger sister.
So we come up with an arrangement: she rehabs me so that I can get back on the ice sooner, and she can add a professional athlete that isn’t her brother to her client list. Seems simple enough. As long as I can keep my hands to myself and my hormones in check.

So I loved Stevie and Bishop by themselves and together. Their banter especially after they meet was perfection. I swear I laughed so hard with them talking together. What started out as thinking Stevie was a puck bunny and Bishop a player turned into a true friendship and an understanding for each other. Yes they fell in love but it’s more then that. Both of them have something to prove in this book. Bishop is out to prove he stays on the team and that he has the talent they saw in him. After a painful injury, he is determined to get back on the ice. He even doubles up on PT just to get it done. Besides hockey his main concern is his brother and his diabetes. His brother doesn’t take much seriously but he learns a very valuable lesson in this book. Stevie has plans in motion. She wants to work with athletes and make a name for herself based on her skills and not her brother’s name. She is studying to be a PT and dealing with her ex, who is pushing to get her back. She and Bishop may not see eye to eye on many things at first but soon things change. I wasn’t a huge fan of her brother even after he apologized..He was kinda a jerk throughout the book to Stevie and Bishop. Also I had the issue with Bishop calling Stevie Bae…It’s silly I know but I hate that word and knowing that a guy said kinda creeped me out a little. Despite that I did love this book and recommend it to everyone!!
O.M.G.!!!!
I’m having a hard time choosing my favorite “All In” book between A Lie for a Lie and A Favor for a Favor – they are both exceptional!! This is Stevie & Bishop’s story who we first met in A Lie for a Lie – Stevie is RJ’s (Rook) sister and Bishop is his new arch nemesis on the team.
I loved the entire beginning of this story… what happened to Stevie was horrible and I totally could empathize with everything falling apart on her. She is moving into her brothers NHL provided apartment which is next door to Bishop, and Bishop thinks that she is RJ’s mistress. They have an underwear war which was the BEST PART of this book… I laughed SOOOO many times through this book with the sayings on Bishops boxer-briefs. Until Bishop gets hurt, they have a very antangonist relationship, but when Stevie offers to help Bishop rehabilitate, things start heating up between the two. The biggest problem with that is that RJ and Bishop do NOT get along, and if Stevie’s brother ever finds out about the things happening with her and Bishop, he is going to flip his lid.
I love everything about this book… I love how it is an extension of the Pucked series, and I love that we get to see more of Violet and Alex. Although I do wonder how Violet is handling not having her best girls around – Maybe we will see more of Charlene and Darren soon???? I hope so!
I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a hockey series, loved the Pucked series, love enemies to lovers books, or just love to read a funny and romantic book! Definitely a read!!
I received an ARC for my honest review.
Who wouldn’t love the chance to help out a sinfully hot hockey player??? Even if he isn’t the most friendly guy…sign me up. This book is one of my favorites so far this year. I loved the antagonistic relationship between Bishop and Stevie. Their relationship is off to a rocky start from the very beginning but the two find that they have more in common than they realize and can benefit from working together. There are so many funny, laugh out loud moments and I absolutely loved all of them. They have amazing chemistry. I know I will be rereading this story again in the near future. I also enjoyed getting to see more of Lainey and RJ. The hockey world is so much fun to explore and I am really looking forward to the next book in the series. Enjoy!!!
I really enjoyed reading this book. I love Stevie and Bishop together. It’s so good I’ve read it twice. Love hockey romance. Helena Hunting just has a way with words and telling a story with her characters. Loved every second. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.
Helena Hunting knows how to rom-com. She always draws me in and hooks me right from the start and this book was no different. I couldn’t get enough. I was hooked and laughing from the first page. I loved this story even more than the first book of this series.
I really adored these characters. Hunting always writes characters that worm their way into my heart. She writes them so effortlessly. These characters are so realistic and easy to connect with. I love that they have insecurities and flaws because it makes them pop off the page. Another thing that I love about her books is that the side characters really bring something special to the story. All of her characters in her books that overlap are for real squad goals and I love it. I love seeing characters that I have already gotten to know in other books.
The romance in this was an enemies-to-lovers style romance that was so much fun. The witty banter between Bishop and Stevie had me cracking up and so invested in their story. I love that their romance was a slow-burn. They have definite chemistry that just thickens to something so tangible as the story goes on.
I loved the way that the plot unfolded. Hunting has crafted such a clever story that will keep you on the edge of your seat with anticipation for what comes next. Bishop and Stevie have such a strong chemistry that it drives the story along effortlessly. The story itself isn’t altogether unpredictable but it is satisfying nonetheless.
Overall, this is a story that kind of had it all. Humor, a riveting romance, a marvelous plot, and characters that get under your skin in all the best ways. If you haven’t tried Helena Hunting’s books then you are missing out on something special. She is a rom-com queen and I am so very happy to be one of her subjects. I can’t recommend this book enough and I am so excited for Kingston’s story is book three!
Another HIGHLY entertaining read in Helena Hunting’s All In series. Appearance from a few of her PUCKED characters was quite reminiscent. I always enjoy an appearance from Violet .
The tension between Stevie and Bishop was quite intense. He didn’t make a good impression and that got them off on the wrong foot which actually fueled the sparks flying. A Favor for a Favor was a slow and sweet burn of passion and love. And I loved every moment whether they were barring insults or indirectly flirting, the chemistry between them was smolderingly sexy and funny all at the same time.
With an overprotective brother in the NHL, Stevie has no desire whatsoever to be near the spotlight or her brother’s shadow. Bishop is gruff and comes across quite rude most of the time. But to see them slowly change as they got to know each other was so sweet. She brought out the gentler side of him. Plus her personality was sharp enough to handle is rough edges. The were truly a per match.
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED!!
Stevie is RJ’s sister and after moving to Seattle she found her boyfriend cheating on her so she moves into RJ’s penthouse apartment in the middle of then night. After making a lot of noise she wakes her new neighbor who lives across the hall. Bishop is having a hard time acclimating to his new team and especially the teammate who lived across the hall and when he is woken in the middle of the night and finds a woman breaking in who is not RJ’s wife he doesn’t realize she is his sister. After being injured in an exhibition game he is going to be out for 6 weeks and when Stevie offers to provide therapy they strike a bargain. These two are perfect together. First they do not know who each other are, they have a love/hate relationship, and they have wicked insane banter that keeps this fresh and witty and page turning and sexy all at the same time. Definitely a keeper. This series just keeps getting better!
This book had me wishing that someone would make a tv series from Helena Hunting’s hot hockey player stories. It also had me wondering if the author had a Pinterest board with images of all of Bishop’s hilarious underwear. I mean, I kept wanting to go and google for pictures of the different ones that were described in the book. Definitely Bishop was a total a-hole to start the book with how he treated Stevie. But the way they had their little underwear face-off every morning was hilarious, and totally made me want my own Bishop. I really liked how other than his a-hole tendencies, he was a pretty good guy. He didn’t have a long list of puck bunny history that Stevie had to worry about, he was a good big brother, and the connection between his brother and Stevie’s dad was a really perfect way to connect the two. It was fun seeing RJ and Lainey, since Stevie is RJ’s sister. And of course any and all time spent with Violet is time that makes me happy. This was definitely very hard to put down, and I would have finished much quicker if work and sleep so that I could work didn’t get in the way.
This book was such a fantastic and entertaining read, I couldn’t put it down. I was fascinated by it’s characters, their banter and all things in between. I need some time to gather my thoughts to write a review this book deserves.
Rook’s little sister, Stevie, and his team rival, Bishop, are the
pair in this second book of the series. Things get off to one horrendous start when Bishop mistakes Stevie for a puck bunny trying to get into Rook’s penthouse and insults her. This is the just the cherry on top of the poop sundae that has been Stevie’s day. And then things get really interesting. Underwear teases, spying through peepholes, a cheating ex-boyfriend who still thinks he has a shot, and an intense reaction to one another that really complicates things make this a wonderful and humorous addition to the series.
I loved Helena Hunting’s “A Favor for a Favor,” a tremendously entertaining story featuring well-developed, likeable characters and a nicely paced romance. Main characters Stevie and Bishop had amazing chemistry from the very beginning, and it was torture waiting for them to finally do something about it! There was plenty to keep me laughing while I waited, however. I especially enjoyed Bishop’s boxers with their hilariously inappropriate sayings as well as the nickname Stevie’s friends, Pattie and Jules, gave him as a result. There was also a great scene that called to mind the “Magic Mike” movies and had me laughing so hard I was nearly in tears.
Stevie was a wonderful lead character, fiercely determined to build her career as a physical therapist based on her own talent rather than relying on favors from her older brother, NHL star Rook Bowman. Stevie and Rook had a very complicated relationship, and while it was sweet that he tried so hard to help and protect her, he definitely took things too far sometimes. Stevie had the right to make her own life choices, even if Rook considered them to be mistakes. That included dating his teammate, Bishop, who was far from Rook’s favorite person.
Even though he didn’t always get along with Rook, I adored Bishop and thought he was a great match for Stevie. He came across as a grump at times, but beneath that gruff exterior was a caring, sweet, and funny man who, like Rook, went out of his way to take care of the people he loved.
Overall, “A Favor for a Favor” was a delightful addition to the All In series, and I am very much looking forward to reading book #3.

Bishop plays hockey for the NHL team in Seattle. He thought it was going to be a great opportunity but things never seem to go how you expect them too. He has a surly disposition and comes off as rude.
When Bishop is awaken at night by a woman coming into his neighbor and teammate’s condo across the hall from him, his surliness shines. He’s mad that she woke him and he is upset because he thinks she is the mistress of his teammate. Bishop may be a jerk but he has a moral compass. He is very rude to the woman.
Stevie is moving to Seattle to start a new job as a physiotherapist after graduating from college. She flew in a few days early, on her birthday, to surprise her boyfriend. They are going to be working at the same clinic and rented this apartment together. But the surprise is on Stevie when she walks in on her boyfriend with another woman. She call her brother, who plays hockey for the Seattle team. He offers her his penthouse condo. He and his wife bought a house so it is empty. When she is trying to get into the condo, she is greeted by her brother’s rude neighbor. From then on, it’s game on between these two.
When Bishop is injured in a preseason game, he’s desperate to get back on the ice. Stevie offers him the opportunity for additional rehab. He recovers faster and she gets the benefit of rehabbing an NHL player. But as the sparks fly between them, can they stay hands off?
I loved this book and I really liked Bishop. This book really put me through the emotions. I can’t wait for the next one.
So hot and so much fun!!!!
In typical Helena Hunting fashion, a Favor for a Favor has all the humor and feels we look forward to in her writing. As the second book in the All In series, it also has the perfect balance of honesty, intensity and fun in a sports romance.
Stevie is Rook Bowman’s sister who we met in A Lie for a Lie. As we also learned in the first book, Bishop is the NHL player that Rook beat out for the captain’s position on the new expansion team in Seattle where Alex Waters (Pucked Series, book one) is the coach.
It kicks off with Stevie and Bishop having an awkward version of a meet-cute at a point where Stevie is at her lowest and Bishop is being the worst version of himself. Stevie is trying to make her way as a physiotherapist without relying on her brother’s name for professional gain and Bishop is fighting to secure a future for himself and someone he cares for. The misunderstandings that lead up to the exchange of favors are both hilarious and awkward as only Helena Hunting can write.
The book addresses real life problems and insecurities that humanizes the characters and makes them relatable to the average reader. Neither of them are perfect and learning what drives them is what makes this book better than your average sports romance.
Be prepared to laugh and FEEL with this book. I promise you won’t regret it and it’ll only leave you wanting more. If you’re also a fan of Helena’s Pucked series, you’ll thoroughly enjoy experiencing Alex Waters as a coach and his wife Violet being her awkward and wonderful self.

Helena Hunting + hunky hockey hunks = Absolute Perfection!
If you’ve never had the pleasure of reading an HH hockey inspired book, then you don’t know what you’re missing! And you definitely don’t want to miss this one. You are going to LOVE Bishop. Well, maybe not at first, but shortly after that you will. This guy is perfectly imperfect. He’s often moody, rude, unfiltered, and sometimes kind of a jerk. At this point in his life he has no cares to give anymore. He is who he is and he makes no apologies. But peel away that layer of grumpiness and you’re left with the most amazing man. He is surprisingly sweet, sarcastic and funny, and his heart is as big as his underwear collection (I know that doesn’t make sense now, but you’ll understand soon enough). He simply intriguing and irresistible.
Stevie is amazing. I love her personality. She’s also unapologetic for how she is. Her sarcasm rivals Bishop’s and she can often be just as grumpy, although to be fair it’s usually because of Bishop that she’s that way. She’s fun and energetic, a little bit mischievous, and extremely sweet when she wants to be. She’s bold and unfiltered, but she has a softer, more vulnerable side that rounds out her character.
Though things might get off to a rocky start between the pair, the underlying chemistry is slow-burning and will keep you turning the pages. From heated arguments, to inappropriate innuendos, to snarky sarcastic ribbing, these two are highly entertaining. You’ll snort-laugh a lot with this story, but the underlying feels and steamy situations will keep reading. This is a great addition to HH’s hockey family.
I go crazy for Helena Hunting. She has a handle on what the heart wants and never disappoints. A Favor for a Favor is unpredictable at best and captiving at It’s worst. Stevie and Bishop are not really friends, never really enemies, but for some reason rub each other the wrong way. Yet their chemistry level is of the charts. Along the way to love, we get a glance behind the sparks and into a witty, emotional, edge of the hormones, hard to resist, unforgettable story. Hold on to your hearts. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.
I happy sighed, when I wasn’t laughing, while reading A Favor For A Favor, a Slow Burn/Hockey Romance. This is the second book in the All In series, and I can’t wait for the next! This RomCom started off as a comedy of errors, both main characters get off on the wrong foot when they meet, due to a misunderstanding that takes a while to clear up. I loved Bishop and Stevie, the main characters, and the witty barbs they slung at each other had me laughing out loud. As the title suggests, these two decide to work together, despite their initial dislike, by doing each other a favor in exchange for a favor, and they slowly begin to appreciate and like the other. Bishop and Stevie had incredible chemistry and I loved how it took time to build up and finally boil over, it was scorching hot!
“I want to be the olive to your pineapple.”
Stevie Bowman arrived home two days earlier than expected, on her birthday, to surprise her live-in boyfriend. Unfortunately, Stevie was the one who was surprised; she walked in on him with someone else and finds herself homeless. Luckily her brother, RJ, had recently married and moved out of his Penthouse apartment and he offers her to stay there as long as she likes. Tired from her trip, and the late hour, she makes a loud and terrible racket while dragging her luggage and trying to unlock the door, something her new neighbor is not happy about.
Bishop Winslow was thrilled when his neighbor moved out; he can’t stand RJ Bowman, his team captain and notorious playboy who partied loudly, and had a rotating door of women coming and going, until he recently married. They both play for a new NHL expansion team in Seattle and Bishop felt the position of team captain should have been his, he’s sure RJ got it due to his friendship with their coach. When he sees a hot mess trying to get into RJ’s apartment he assumes the worst. She must be RJ’s mistress; he’s already cheating on his wife! When Bishop insults and yells at Stevie, she decides to go to war with him.
“For so many reasons we probably shouldn’t fit together, but we do.”
Stevie and Bishop clash every chance they get, and make a game to see who can antagonize the other more. Until Bishop is injured in a game and forced to take some time off to get well. Good thing that Stevie has a master’s degree in physiotherapy. This could be the opportunity she needs to make a name for herself, and find a position on a sports team, on her own merit. They work out a plan to help each other since they both need a favor, hence…a favor for a favor.
“Everyone has a demon or two, Stevie. You just gotta learn how to live with them and find other people who think all your god parts outweigh the bad.”
Not everything is lighthearted and a laugh a minute, there’s a serious health issue that causes concern and adds awareness to a disease that affects a secondary character, and has coincidentally affected both MC lives in different ways. I love how this issue was dealt with and added so much to the story.
As a longtime fan of Hunting’s work, I know she will not disappoint, and in the case of A Favor for a Favor she certainly did not!
With humor and tenderness along with a resiliency on the parts of both loveable characters, Bishop and Stevie, I could not get enough of this story.
Between the secret game of peekaboo with the morning newspaper routine and their endless teasing one another while trying to keep their relationship strictly professional, it was hard to not fall for this couple along the way. Sprinkle in a few of our beloved Pucked characters and you have another hockey romance sure to steal your heart.
As Always, Happy Reading!
“5/5 Beaming Brains!” – Lit-Up My Mind
After reading A lie for a Lie I couldn’t wait to read this book. It was amazing and didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. The humor, the tension, the interactions and holy hell the hotness just has you intrigued from start to finish. The way this story develops has you wanting more. Bishop is an ahole from the start but it just works for his character. Holy hot mess is Stevie but it makes her character that much love able. There chemistry jumps of the page and has you interested in how this book will play out. I couldn’t put it down and enjoyed every word.
Gaahhhh!! Freakin’ adored this book!
“She’s sarcastic and bitchy, she’s sweet and helpful, but I think she’s also got some broken pieces she tries to hide behind all the other parts.”
Stevie Bowman meets Bishop Winslow on a really bad night in her life. To add to her misery, he’s a complete a-hole to her! As the days follow, he continues being a jerk towards her – albeit a super buff and gorgeous jerk. When all the dots connect and she realises he’s one of her brother’s teammates and he, in turn, realises who she is, they start seeing each other in a different light. When Bishop is injured, she makes a proposition to rehab him in exchange for a recommendation from him. When you work in such close, intimate proximity, things are bound to evolve into something more….
“Under that surly exterior and his poorly thought-out comments that often come across as seriously rude insults is what I’m beginning to think is a genuinely nice guy.”
I seriously adored this story! It wasreally funny and butterfly-inducing. They had some sizzling chemistry between them. Bishop is anti-social, surly and broody, but I adored him when he was with her and I loved how he cared for his brother. He was helpless to hide his reaction to her because of the nature of his injury and, of course, the fact he loves to walk around in his amusing slogan boxer shorts! I adored how he insinutated his way into her life, in the face of opposition from her brother. Stevie is independent, feisty and funny. She completely shunned fame and the limelight but, at the same time, got carried away and never really weighed up the consequences of becoming intimately involved with Bishop. They gelled so well together and I just loved their banter. Thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed this book!
This enemies to lovers story grabbed me right from the start, I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry and tension between Stevie and Bishop is next level and the delicious slow burn made it even better.
