From the New York Times bestselling author of Pucked and A Lie for a Lie, a new stand-alone romance about trading favors, battling wills, and winning love. When I joined Seattle’s NHL expansion team, I thought it was the start of something great. But nothing ever goes the way you expect. Take my introduction to my new neighbor. She came rolling in on the hot mess express at midnight, making a … mess express at midnight, making a racket while she tried to get into my team captain’s apartment. Did I mention that he’s married to a woman who definitely was not her?
Imagine my surprise when I end up with an injury that has me out of the game for weeks, and she’s the one to offer to help me. I should probably add that she’s not the captain’s mistress. She’s his sexy, pastel-haired younger sister.
So we come up with an arrangement: she rehabs me so that I can get back on the ice sooner, and she can add a professional athlete that isn’t her brother to her client list. Seems simple enough. As long as I can keep my hands to myself and my hormones in check.

OH MY GOD! I’ve volunteered to review these book for United Indie Book Blog. This is the second book in the All In series. This story is about Bishop and Stevie. Stevie is the baby sister of RJ, who is also Bishop’s teammate, arch-nemesis, and neighbor. Stevie and Bishop kind of hate each other on sight. Stevie has a master’s degree in physiotherapy and works at the local university. When Bishop suffers a painful injury during an exhibition game, it’s Stevie that comes to his rescue. She needs his recommendation to get her into the physiotherapy field for professional athletes. But can they keep things professional between them? I absolutely loved this book. You can this as a standalone, but I would read the first one in this series. I love the banter between Bishop and Stevie. I was laughing so hard at times, it made it harder to put down the book. Keep up the awesome work! Can’t wait to read book in this series.
I loved Stevie and Bishop. From the moment they meet, which is completely unfortunate because Stevie has been through the ringer and Bishop just assumes the worst. These two start off on the completely wrong foot, but when an injury cause Bishop to ask a favor and in return Stevie gets a favor, the favors continue from there. The pull between Bishop and Stevie is undeniable, but they both want to keep their relationship professional, however, it seems to keep getting more and more difficult for these two to avoid that attraction. I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put this book down. Stevie and Bishop take us on a fun, flirty, emotional adventure that won’t disappoint!
Fun storyline, dynamic dialogue, and stellar narration! Really enjoyed this one!
RJ(Rook)‘s funny, sassy sister from first book gets her own book! This can be considered a stand alone so don’t worry if you didn’t read A Lie for a Lie but it was also just as awesome so I recommend reading that one too.
NHL Player Bishop mistakes Stevie for a puck bunny to his married Team Captain which causes him to be a complete jerk to her. This was a really good enemies to friends to lovers. The war between these two were not frustrating but funny. The underwear competition between the two was hilarious.
Stevie has tried for years to stay out of her NHL Brother’s limelight. She wants to be known as successful on her own. While doing so she struggles to stay out of the limelight again but this time regarding Bishop. This woman is intelligent, smart, witty and full of spunk. She has worked hard to get where she is with avoiding handouts and her brother pulling strings for her.
It was a lot of fun seeing the relationship between these two start then grow into the people they need for each other. Bringing out the best.
This is a read you won’t want to set down.
A Favor for A Favor— what did I not like about this book? Nothing—I loved it! The action both verbally and physically between Bishop and Stevie was awesome! And the other characters in their story was spot on! You will get a glimpse of previous Helena’s characters and meet new ones which you will come to love like I do.
Hot Mess Express just owns me! You will stay up way past your bedtime reading and have a book hangover the next day—trust me on this.
Stevie and Bishop have an extremely awkward first meeting, which leads to a lot of assumptions. When Bishop is injured, Stevie offers to help him with his physiotherapy for experience and a letter of referral.
Stevie’s brother, RJ, is Bishops team captain and the two do not have an easy working relationship. This of course leads to a lot of testosterone infused moments.
Stevie’s ex is forever in the background with all his sleazy moments to add a bit discontent.
Loved how they learnt to understand each other and the positive way in which they used that knowledge to help each other be ‘better’ versions of themselves.
I read this book in 24 hours. Stevie and Bishop stole my heart. The way that these two characters bickered and fought and riled each other up was brilliant and hilarious. They were perfectly horrible and sarcastic to each other from the get go and that made their journey even better. That made the push and pull of their story so captivating! You know you really love someone when you can fight and argue and still come back for more! And the anticipation of their sexy times drives you to read faster and faster and faster!
I seriously loved this book and am crushing on these NHL hotties so much!
I am becoming a BIG fan of Helena Hunting—she really knows how to write a good steamy romance with some added humor! I LOVE her writing style and this book definitely reiterated this for me! I found myself laughing in the middle of reading this book and then swooning the next minute. I absolutely love a book that has the steam but also has some comedy mixed in! Helena, girl you got it going on! (hahaha)
I have loved every Helena Hunting Book that I’ve ever read & A Favor For A Favor is no exception! Stevie and Bishop are perfect together! This book was the funny, hot, sexy story I’ve come to expect from Helena. My feelings while reading were all over the board. Smiles, lots of laughs, frustration, love & yes, even just a couple of tears (but hey, I get emotional when I love a story )…and as a bonus, we get a few glimpses of a couple of Pucked favorites!
A Favor For A Favor is book two in Helena’s All In series. It stands alone so you don’t have to start with book one, but it’s also a great story so I don’t know why you’d want to skip it. If you like hot hockey players, definitely give this series a read!
Stevie was all set to start her new life, in a new city, with a new job and her boyfriend. Whom she just caught cheating. To make matters worse it’s her birthday, one suit case is lost and the other, arghhh! She’s a hot mess trying to get into her brothers apartment and a pretty much naked man next door is not happy with her or the noise she is making it the middle of the night! Which basically sums up this funny enemies, to reluctant friendship to lovers, a hot mess! Tearing his groin and needing six week of rehab was his worst nightmare! Pain and suffering are the new normal. Especially with Stevie helping him. Or not, when even a the slightest hint of arousal is agony! What starts as a mutual understanding of tit for tat ends in in the most wonderful thing of all, love and a happily-ever-after just perfect for Stevie and her grumpy hockey player!
This is the 2nd book in the All Inn series, and I loved all so very much! We have a hockey player, a physical rehabilitation professional, a protective brother, ridiculous underwear, some hockey rivalry and amazing love, romance and friendship!
Bishop and Stevie first encounter was bad, really bad for all parts included. But when Bishop finds out that Stevie is not his playmate and rival mistress but his sister, his on going attraction only explode in his face. Then he get hurt while playing and she offers help to rehabilitated him and get him back to the ice faster, and she can increase her client list. A favor for a favor.
I loved their chemistry and banter. Bishop was a secret sweet guy that wanted to love, protect and make her happy. While she didn’t want to became famous through his brother or any other hockey player, they still had some fun and their slow burn killed me. They were also supportive of each other and I couldn’t think anyone more perfect for each other than them.
I loved their ending, he just wanted to be the olive to her pineapple pizza and she just had to tune down her defense mechanism. I loved her conversation with RJ, her brother. Bishop and Stevie were so cute together and the epilogue only brought me more happiness!
NO SPOILERS!
I absolutely loved A Favor for a Favor! The storyline and characters Helena Hunting created were beyond fantastic, and I loved them so much. Bishop and Stevie’s love story was sweet, sexy, hilarious, and entertaining, and the conclusion made me absolutely ecstatic. The All In series has been exceptional so far, and I can’t wait to devour Ryan Kingston’s story in the final standalone, A Secret for a Secret!
I truly enjoyed reading A Favor for a Favor by Helena Hunting. It was charming, sweet and put a smile on my face while reading. Stevie and Bishop have so much chemistry and I love their banter. Stevie was fun and easy-going and drove Bishop crazy. Bishop is determined, but is in need of help, help Stevie can give. But can they keep it professional? I loved getting lost in this story so much. Such an adorable read!
Happy reading!
This second book in the All In series was so much fun! It starts out with Stevie having a very bad day. When she has trouble getting into her brother’s apartment, his neighbor, Bishop, comes out to investigate. They both get the wrong idea of who the other is and that sets the tone for some hilarious and awkward moments. Their animosity soon turns into a truce and their attraction to each other grows. When they discover they can help each other with their careers, they try to deny that attraction. But as their friendship grows so does the sizzling chemistry between them. I loved these two so much along with all their quirky, supportive and protective family and friends. There are so many fun and awkward moments but lots of heartwarming and steamy moments as well! Erin Mallon, and Jacob Morgan were so perfect as Stevie and Bishop. Mallon nails Stevie’s cautious yet sassy and spirited personality, while Morgan flawlessly depicts the big, burly Bishop with a heart of gold. They both have a great range of voices and emotion that easily capture my heart and bring this story to life.
Another big win from Helena Hunting! I loved everything about A Favor for a Favor. It’s funny, sweet, & sexy. Highly recommended.
Rook Bowman’s little sister, Stevie, is a sports therapist who is hoping to make it on her own without people realizing that she’s hockey star Rohe ok Bowman’s sister. She has always been living in his shadow and having to deal with his antics before he found his true love.
Bishop Winslow is made at the hockey team for taking away his position and he has to deal with the new team captain Rook Bowman. He doesn’t think very highly of Rook and thinks that Rook and the team manager is out for him.
Stevie moves into Rook’s apartment temporarily when she finds out her fiancé was cheating on her. Unfortunately is not having the best of days when she gets to the apartment and then ends up dropping the keycard down the elevator. Bishop is mad as heck when he opens the door to the hallway to the ruckus and takes it out on Stevie. Then he assume that Stevie is Rook’s mistress and is even worse to her.
These two dislike each other but they also like to compete with each other. Their daily competition of workout clothes is hilarious. When Bishop is injured on the rink and is out for 6 weeks, Stevie tells him she will work with him to heal from his injury and wants him to write a recommendation for her afterwards. The 2 of them get closer during this time and each finds out the other is not who they appear to be. They realize that they have a lot in common and they just want to be recognized for their own accomplishments and not have it tied to someone else.
I love all the silly (hilarious) things that these two did to each other and then how they finally got along and start to get to know each other. And Bishop standing up to Rook for himself and Stevie was great!
My Thoughts:
I am “all in” when it comes to this new spinoff series of Hunting’s! Her stories never fail to excite me, and make me smile and laugh! She has a gift with her banter, and the way that she has her characters play off of one another’s dialogue!
Stevie is out of a place to live; when she comes home early on her birthday to surprise her boyfriend, and finds him in bed with another woman. She had invested all of her money in to their new apartment, and is now out of a place to stay. Her older brother R.J, offers her his penthouse, a perk from his NHL team; as he lives in a huge house with his wife and child, and doesn’t use it. She happily accepts R.J.’s penthouse as temporary housing, until she can get back on her feet and get a new place of her own.
Unfortunately, Stevie is not off to a great start when she meets her rude, and grumpy gorgeous neighbor. Bishop judges Stevie when he sees her by assuming she is R.J.’s mistress, and lacks moral integrity. Yet, he can’t help but be attracted to her.
When Bishop, suffers a major groin injury, they make an arrangement that Stevie will use her expertise in sports rehabilitation to do physical therapy on him, so that he can get back on the ice as soon as possible. Bishop will then be a reference for her, which will look great on her resumé. However, what starts as a business arrangement quickly becomes more complicated, when Stevia and Bishop start falling for one another.
I loved a Favor for a Favor. I relished the day to day interactions between Stevie and Bishop. I was completely in the moment with these two characters, and time seemed to pass so quickly as I read their story.
I enjoyed these characters unique personalities. Stevie was really sweet, caring, and laid back, except when it came to the fact that she didn’t do well with public attention. Bishop was an entertaining character. I loved the fun sayings on his underwear, his lack of filter, because he was one to speak his mind, and zero tolerance for not being genuine. He could definitely be rude and antisocial, but his character grew on me, we got to see how huge his heart was!
Stevie and Bishop had incredible chemistry, and I loved how their relationship grew from a friendship. It was fun watching them bicker over pizza toppings, cuddle up and watch hockey together, and have each other’s back when life got tough. I loved the way Stevie wasn’t afraid to put Bishop in his place regarding his therapy, and he was extra patient and sensitive to her needs. A Favor for a Favor was such a fun, sweet, and entertaining read, and I enjoyed every moment of it!
This was a funny and sweet love story. Stevie and Bishop were great characters, full of detail and quirks, though the supporting cast could’ve used more fleshing-out (they felt a bit one-dimensional, like paper dolls). Helena Hunting knows how to slowly unfold a story without rushing anything, which sucks you in.
Bishop is a real piece of work, he’s got a big chip on his shoulder on and off the ice. Then he meets his new neighbor Stevie and treats her like a total a-hole based off of false assumptions. But she doesn’t put up with his crap. She can give as good as she gets. Bishop starts to enjoy their little war but lines start to get blurred and he actually finds himself fascinated with his nee neighbor. But there’s a huge problem, Stevie is his team captains little sister. Every time Stevie thinks she’s making progress with Bishop he opens his big rude mouth and throws his attitude around. Can he pull his act together and win the girl?
I really loved this enemies to lovers story and we even got more Violet and Alex!
Do yourself a favour – Read this book!!!
Helena Hunting does it again with the second book in her All In series. It is like a comedy of errors that bring Bishop and Stevie together and the reader is brought along for the hilarious and heartwarming journey that ensues. The chemistry between these two is not only smoldering but absolutely electrifying. Add it some of our favourite Pucked series characters that pop-in and this is truly another amazing read by a truly fantastic author. I guarantee that you will not be able to put it down. I can’t wait for the next one in the series!!
