From the New York Times bestselling author of Pucked and A Lie for a Lie, a new stand-alone romance about trading favors, battling wills, and winning love. When I joined Seattle’s NHL expansion team, I thought it was the start of something great. But nothing ever goes the way you expect. Take my introduction to my new neighbor. She came rolling in on the hot mess express at midnight, making a … mess express at midnight, making a racket while she tried to get into my team captain’s apartment. Did I mention that he’s married to a woman who definitely was not her?
Imagine my surprise when I end up with an injury that has me out of the game for weeks, and she’s the one to offer to help me. I should probably add that she’s not the captain’s mistress. She’s his sexy, pastel-haired younger sister.
So we come up with an arrangement: she rehabs me so that I can get back on the ice sooner, and she can add a professional athlete that isn’t her brother to her client list. Seems simple enough. As long as I can keep my hands to myself and my hormones in check.

I absolutely loved this book with Bishop and Stevie. Stevie is Rook’s little sister and doesn’t want anyone to know. Bishop is Rook’s team mate, and barely tolerates him. Then the two fo them meet
it is just horrible. There are so many reasons why these two don’t belong together….and yet…their story is just awesome.
I love how they banter and tease each other. I love how Bishop is so protective of her. This one is definitely wonderful
I love this addition to this series and I loved Stevie and Bishop!! This pair was an amazing match up from the start. I loved the dynamic and interactions with Stevie and Bishop as the pair both deny and come to terms with their feeling for each other as Bishop works to rehab from an injury and Stevie works through her issues with ending a bad relationship and finding herself. As the pair come to terms with their feelings for each other they then had to face the issues of Stevie needing to come to terms with Bishop being a public feature and Bishop’s ill feelings toward Rook who also happens to be Stevie’s brother. Bishop and Stevie returned us to some familiar characters in their story such as Violet and Alex from the Pucked series as well as Rook and Lainey from the first book of this series and I enjoyed catching up with them as well as encountering the new characters as well. I loved this book and was sorry when it ended and I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
An incredibly well written and entertaining story!
Have you ever read a book and wanted to finish it, yet you’ve dragged it out? That’s me. I absolutely loved this book and didn’t want to say goodbye to Stevie and Bishop.
Helena Hunting has repeatedly won my heart over with her words. Moreover, A Favor for a Favor didn’t disappoint. It had me laughing and cheering for Bishop and scored big with my romantic heart. Stevie and Bishop steam up the pages with their antics and it was so easy to love them.
Definitely a book that can be read as a standalone but it was a wonderful reward to read Violets portions. She’s a hoot!
A must read.
I really enjoyed this book! This is the second in the series that is a spin-off of the Pucked series. Stevie is the younger sister of RJ Bowman from the first book. She is moving to Seattle to start her job as a Physical Therapist. She arrives two days early and finds her boyfriend of a year “celebrating” with another woman. She obviously cannot move in with her boyfriend so she decides to stay at her brother’s empty apartment. While trying to get into the appartement, she wakes up his crabby neighbor and teammate, Bishop Winslow, and they get off on the wrong foot. Once Bishop is injured, they come to a mutually beneficial arrangement where Stevie will help him in his rehab, and he will give her a recommendation. I really liked Bishop and Stevie, their initial antagonism towards each other then eventual friendship was a lot of fun. This is a really fun enemies to lovers romance. I cannot wait for Kingston’s book. I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and author for my honest review.
3.5 to 4 stars
Stevie Bowman is RJ/Rook’s little sister from A Lie for a Lie. She is moving to Seattle for a new PT job, her boyfriend, and to be near her brother and his new family, but her previously set up plans take a dive when she gets there. But fortunately, her brother has his vacant apartment she can stay in.
Rook’s teammate and new nemesis, Bishop Winslow, is her across the hall neighbor. They do not get off to the best start, and they find themselves playing some little games for a bit. But when he gets injured and needs some extra PT, it seems to be a win-win for both of him. She gets professional experience and he gets back on the ice faster.
Their arrangement is full of some antagonism and sexual tension, but they also start to develop an odd friendship. Slow burn torture, forbidden elements, and growing feelings start to make things a bit messy.
Stevie has always lived in her brother’s shadow and does not like it when his spotlight shines on her. Bishop will more than likely eventually garner that same kind of attention. Bishop has been used in the past by girls wanting to ride his fame. And Rook is one hundred percent an older brother who does not approve of any shenanigans. Not to mention the professional aspect of being a therapist and client.
So there are plenty of reasons to say NO. But as they trade favors and time, things just keep heating up.
This is a slow-burn, enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, sports romance. It brings back Rook/RJ who I loved in the first book, but from Bishop and Stevie’s point of view, he can kind of be overbearing, overprotective, and bossy. I really liked the beginning, but it got a bit repetitive for me in the middle. And the big conflict and some things related were a bit frustrating. But by the end, I was liking it again. I really liked their goody-goody teammate, Ryan Kingston and am glad he will be the subject of the next book.

Laugh Out Loud, funny! I literally highlighted pages of text. This book is hilarious and the premise was perfect!
The story opens with Rook’s younger sister, Stevie, (whom we met in Lie for a Lie) moving into his apartment after she found her fiancé having sex with another woman ON HER BIRTHDAY! She’s clumsy and on the verge of hysteria, what could go wrong that day did, including awaking her new, surly neighbor, Bishop.
She came rolling in on the hot mess express at midnight, making a racket while she tried to get into my team captain’s apartment.
She appeared to be doing a terrible job sneaking into his married team captain’s apartment. He assumed Stevie was Rook’s side piece, which made him hate Rook even more.
Because of his misconception (and his personality), he’s crazy rude and disrespectful to her, a royal jerk – which provided so much hilarity to the story, because he’s also crazy attracted to her. She hates that she’s attracted to him because of how he treats her. But his body is delicious, and he has a ridiculous supply of crazy boxer briefs that he loves to share with her.
A set of flags crosses over the pen pouch with the words FINISH LINE right over his junk. It’s physically impossible not to look at his crotch. I force my eyes up, dragging slowly over his ridiculously cut abs on the way to his annoyingly attractive face
About the same time he gets a groin injury, Bishop discovers Stevie is Rook’s sister, and she’s working as a sports trainer at the university. Bishop needs to get back on the ice as soon as possible if he’s to gel with his teammates and not get traded. Stevie could use the addition to her resume’ of working with an NHL player. It’s the perfect no-strings-attached arrangement.
The problem is, every time she touches him, he becomes aroused. His reactions are hilariously funny!
I’m sweating, I’m angry, and I hate my d*ck.
I need you to stop touching me! It’s stupid because I’m still holding on to her, not the other way around.
Why are you yelling at me? she shouts back.
Because you’re half-undressed in my tub, and I’m a guy, and apparently my d*ck is a f*cking sadist. It honestly feels like my balls are on fire right now. A semi has literally never been this painful.
Well, close your damn eyes and think about dead things.
It doesn’t matter if I close them. The image of you in panties is burned into the back of my lids, probably for the rest of my f*cking life. It’s all I see.
You’d think you’d never seen a set of bare legs before. She helps me lower myself into the tub and steps out.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a pair up close, I grumble.
Such a surprise, with your warm, fuzzy personality.
If you’re looking for a fast-paced, slow burn, enemies to lovers romance, with a broody hero and a sharp-tongued heroine, curl up with A Favor for a Favor!
Book 2 in the All In Series and what can I say about a book that captivated me, that I didn’t want to end apart from its a MUST READ…… Helena Hunting is one of my go to authors I love her style of writing , I love her characters and this book is no different I fell big time for Stevie and Bishop.
This book ticked all my boxes, I laughed at the witty banter, I sighed and swooned at the sizzling chemistry and the story drew me in and left me wanting more.
Bishop has just joined Seattle’s NHL expansion team and just when he thinks life is perfect it all goes to pot when he gets injured and the only person who wants to help him with his rehab is his teammates stunning sister Stevie. Will this couple keep it professional……
A swoon worthy hero and a sassy heroine help make this a great read but it’s the banter and humour as well as the chemistry that turn it into an amazing story. I highly recommend you one clicking this entertaining must read for the start of the New Year.
I really enjoyed reading this slow burn, sexy, rom-com. I especially loved the snarky humor between Stevie and Bishop. And the sexual tension between these 2 was so tangible, I was a wreck. Bishop was adorable as a grumpy, anti-social but soft hearted hockey player. I loved Stevie’s sass but found her continued fear of the limelight a bit over the top. Thankfully, she comes to her senses. If you are a sports romance fan, this is a must read.
I received a copy from Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.
A Favor for a Favor is a Hockey slow-burn romance story. After a flight delay, lost luggage, torn and missing a wheel on the suitcase that did make the flight, Stevie Bowman rolls in at midnight after catching her cheating ass boyfriend in the act, in the apartment they were supposed to begin their life together, and on her birthday no less. She calls her big brother, RJ, needing a place to stay and he gives her the penthouse apartment where she meets his cranky ass neighbor in boxers. Winslow Bishop is the forward for Seattle’s NHL expansion team, RJ Bowman is the team captain, a position Bishop wanted, the rivalry continues on and off the ice. During the first exhibition game, Bishop takes a hit, a cheap shot and is injured badly, a groin injury that is going to ice him for at least six weeks. The truth starts to unravel and misconceptions become apparent with this slow-burning romance.
I love the way Helene Hunting writes, the way she paints a very graphic picture, one that you can see in your mind’s eye while the story unfolds before your eyes. Helene doesn’t hold back by addressing everyday issues like diabetes or other important issues.
This book is the second in the All In series and I have to say It was absolutely amazing!
There was sarcasm, witty banter, so much sizzling tension and a storyline that will captivate you!Stevie really was a breath of fresh air! I want to be her friend! Her sass, snark and all around emotions just tugged at my heart! When she meets Bishop when she tries to enter her new apartment, well lets just say you are in for a bumpy ride!
I can see why Bishop is the way he is and his tendencies to be a bit of a brut to those he meets, does come across a bit harsh! Can Stevie get under his skin and vice versa when she helps him with his rehab??
I absolutely loved this book so much! I loved the characters, the way they were and how they open up to each other was just beautiful! When do they realize how they feel?
A definite entertaining storyline that will grab your attention and I cannot wait for more of this series!!
5 star Review A Favor For A Favor (All In #2) by Helena Hunting
A Favor For A Favor ticked all the boxes for me as Stevie and Bishop’s story unfolded. Having read quite a few books by Helena Hunting, I love her writing style and I found it easy to relate to Stevie and Bishop.
From the first miss communication and miss understanding, there was something that seemed to sizzle between Bishop and Stevie. When Stevie offers to help Bishop with his rehab after his injury, you just know that complications are headed their way.
The chemistry between Bishop and Stevie was intense, almost electrifying. I fell hard and fast for Bishop and I loved how sassy and feisty Stevie was as she stood her ground with Bishop. To me they made a great couple as Ms. Hunting gave us a story that had me falling head over heels for them both individually and as a couple.
From start to finish Helena Hunting wove together a story that I could not put down, she had me totally engrossed from the first to the last chapter. This was an entertaining, at times humorous story which I loved.
I received an copy of this book through the publisher via Netgalley
Helena Hunting writes a great hockey romance with sports action, interesting characters, compelling relationships, witty banter, and lots of steam!
Stevie and Bishop have a ridiculously unpleasant first meeting. Now they’re neighbors, so seeing each other is inevitable, but they take “seeing” to a whole new entertaining level. Their verbal and underwear battles are incredibly amusing. When Bishop is injured playing hockey, Stevie has a mutually beneficial proposal. Rehab sessions and a friendship result in an undeniable sizzle while they fight to keep things professional. That slow burn was certainly worth the steamy hot combustion later. Their relationship was funny, awkward, sweet and sexy…”I want to be the olive to your pineapple.”
A great sports romance to add to your TBR!
I loved this book so much! I was extremely lucky to have the chance to both read and listen to the audiobook of A Favor for a Favor. This enemies to friends to lovers romance hooked me right in and was just the kind of slow burn romance I was looking for. It’s filled with all of Helena Hunting’s trademark wit and humor and there were so many times I burst out laughing while reading and listening to this one. This is book 2 in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. Characters from the previous book do appear though, and that is where we originally meet the heroine, Stevie, so I do recommend reading A Lie for a Lie for maximum enjoyment.
Bishop is my favorite type of hero – loyal, caring, hilarious, supportive, truly an all around good guy wrapped in a grumpy, ornery, alpha package. I loved that he didn’t have some crazy history of puck bunnies and that his main concern was always for his family. The back and forth with Stevie was the best and their innuendo and banter only ramped up the anticipation. What I appreciated most though, was that Bishop listened. I really felt for Stevie and understood why she made the decisions that she did to try to escape from the shadows. Sure it was frustrating at times and I thought she was a little dense to Bishop’s actions, but at the same time I can see how confusing it all could be given her history and the start of their friendship. I was disappointed to see Rook act the way he did after falling for him in book 1, but as a younger sister myself, I can see that his heart was in the right place. I enjoyed seeing Alex and Violet from the Pucked series again, but it’s Kingston who has definitely piqued my interest (who wouldn’t love a well mannered gentleman who drinks milk at the bar!?) I really wouldn’t be upset at all if he ends up getting his own book. 😉
The casting of Erin Mallon and Jacob Morgan was fantastic. Both can perform male and female characters so well and they also deliver on all the feels. Their comedic timing is perfect for the lighter moments, but they also can convey so much emotion with the inflections of their voices. This is an amazing narrating duo and I definitely recommend enjoying this one on audio if you have the chance.

*I voluntarily read and listened to an advance review copy of this book*
Having a hockey star for a brother leaves Stevie likes she is always in his shadow. Not wanting to latch onto his coat strings she has tried to keep a low profile. But when she meets Bishop, one of his teammates, all bets are off. What starts out as enemies, leans towards friends and eventually becomes so much more. But it is when the friendships starts off with a favor for a favor does the true sparks come out. There were times this book had me laughing out loud, others I was cringing and last but certainly not least by the end I had a happy smile on my face. This was a true romance filled with heartwarming interactions and honest feelings. A definite must read.
Gah ! This book had all the catnip my soul craves!! A jerkface hero, with a soft gooey center, and swirls of insecurity. An independent, hair colour changing, heroine, with vulnerabilities, and a stupid ex. Not love at first sight, not even like at first sight, but crankiness at first run-in.
These two clashed, they tormented, they called each other names, and out, and they became familiar, knowing, and invested in each other during the process. When they finally find a common ground, this doesn’t stop, it continues. The snarky comments, the teasing, they become layered with real conversations, and they get to know the real person behind the mask. Though the mask is not all a cover-up, let’s be clear. And, that spark that was there from the start, it keeps being fed. So is it any wonder when they act on it, really act on it, the heat between them is scorching.
These two made me smile, laugh, cringe, squirm, gasp, and cheer. They made me hurt for them, care for them, root for them, and want to hug them. Stevie and Bishop were beyond wonderful together, they were past perfection together, they were made to be together, and thank goddess they found each other!
When is the right time to meet the not so perfect but still hot with no filter but still the one for you guy? Apparently when the day has been awful and you just need a bit more of that dosage to make it the worst day ever. But if it worked for Stevie there is hope for everyone else that think they have bad luck. This book has a slow burn feeling to it. Poor Bishop is just tortured by desire and the need to be patient even when all he wants is to pounce on Stevie. As a reader, the author did a great job of making you feel his need too. He tries really hard to listen and be nicer while she lets go of all her hangups. So even with many setbacks and both of them having a poor handle on relationship behavior, they are endearing and fun together. It is definitely very entertaining to read their back and forth banter.
4.5 hockey hottie stars
ARC received for an honest review
Another super cute story from Helena Hunting. And set in my favourite city in the USA that I have visited – Seattle. We are already on a winner!!
I liked the first book A Lie For A Lie, however I freaking loved A Favor For A Favor. I mean, more hockey hotties for me – yes please!
Stevie and Bishop’s story is more of a slow burn – with plenty of getting each other revved up, full of hate-filled tension that you just know is going to blow the roof off (or, well, other things ) when they act on them.
For all the fun and games and sexiness that is Bishop and Stevie, there are characters that I just wanted to nut punch as I was reading.
And Stevie’s brother Rook/RJ – you know, our hottie from A Lie For A Lie – was the one who was making me want to do that too a lot of the time. I understand he wants to protect his sister, but he was an ar$e so much of the time.
And Stevie, I wanted to slap some sense into her at times – she acted like she was still in high school at times, and used what happened back then as an excuse for everything.
But I still love them.
And OMG yes, we get more of Violet Winters at her unfiltered, sex-obsessed, foul mouthed best!
I laughed, I got sad, I got mad – and then I got sad again because the book ended.
I want more, Ms Hunting. Please don’t make me wait too long for more.
The heroine Stevie is the younger sister of RJ, who is the hero in the first book of the All In series. She is left without a place to stay after an incident, and luckily her brother RJ has an empty penthouse where she can reside for as long as she wants. She meets her broody arrogant but very sexy neighbor Bishop the first day and things start off on the wrong foot. He is a member of Seattle’s NHL expansion team, of which Stevie’s brother RJ is the new captain of. He assumes she is RJ’s mistress and treats her not so nice, and he doesn’t like RJ in the first place, so he is being extra about it. I really enjoyed their first meeting, because it also showed that Stevie isn’t a woman you can treat like that and get away with it. There was definitely a strong attraction between them, but Bishop’s attitude hinders from anything happening. After an injury Stevie offers to help him with rehabilitation and he accepts because he wants to get on the ice as soon as possible.
I enjoyed seeing both of them lower their guards and get the know each other. The pacing of their friendship/relationship was slow and steady, and I really liked that. Besides the growth in their relationship, I also liked seeing their personal development throughout the book. Both are dealing with some stuff and I was happy that those things were highlighted as well. I especially enjoyed the sibling love between Stevie and RJ, and Bishop and his brother Nolan. The side characters were great as well, and I am especially intrigued by Bishop’s friend and teammate Kingston. I want to know more about him, and I really hope he will get his own book. A Favor for a Favor is a light and fun contemporary romance. The banter between Bishop and Stevie was great, and I think they make a great couple. I can’t wait to read more books in this series.

Helena has completely stolen my heart with this new book!! I devoured A Favor For A Favor in one afternoon. This new series is becoming a new addiction!
The feisty, spirited banter mixed with the broken, quiet souls of this couple is going to melt you into a puddle of goo. Bishop and Stevie are two pieces of a puzzle that didn’t know they came from the same box, but once they figure out they fit together the picture is breathtaking.
Bishop doesn’t exactly have great people skills, but for a hockey player that’s not a skill he needs on the ice so it’s not one he’s ever worked on off the ice. When a pink haired, hot mess moves in across from him late one night his less than stellar personality welcomes her to the floor.
When Stevie catches her boyfriend cheating, her brother, Rook (Captain of the new Seattle expansion hockey team) offers up the apartment he wasn’t using anyway. What he didn’t mention was his grouchy neighbor that doesn’t seem to own clothes because he only ever greets her in ridiculous looking boxer briefs.
When Bishop and Stevie begin a neighbor war (LOL hilarious moments) that eventually transforms into a different kind of war when he needs help after injuring himself. Why is it a different kind of war…when chemical attraction is involved and professional jobs are at stake the battle of wills begin. Who will crack first?
Bishop is missing tact and yet he is still so relatable. I adore him for his awkward, tackless, blunt personality more than any other character. He fits so well with Stevie who understands him, doesn’t judge him for his personality or make him feel bad for it. He also understands her and how she fits into the sports life. They are such a unique, honest, and absolutely perfect pair!
