From the New York Times bestselling author of Pucked and A Lie for a Lie, a new stand-alone romance about trading favors, battling wills, and winning love. When I joined Seattle’s NHL expansion team, I thought it was the start of something great. But nothing ever goes the way you expect. Take my introduction to my new neighbor. She came rolling in on the hot mess express at midnight, making a … mess express at midnight, making a racket while she tried to get into my team captain’s apartment. Did I mention that he’s married to a woman who definitely was not her?
Imagine my surprise when I end up with an injury that has me out of the game for weeks, and she’s the one to offer to help me. I should probably add that she’s not the captain’s mistress. She’s his sexy, pastel-haired younger sister.
So we come up with an arrangement: she rehabs me so that I can get back on the ice sooner, and she can add a professional athlete that isn’t her brother to her client list. Seems simple enough. As long as I can keep my hands to myself and my hormones in check.

It was my honor to receive an ARC of this book, A Favor For A Favor by Helena Hunting. I have always loved her work. This book was great. A misunderstanding in how they meet, leads to a great, slow burn story. As Helena does, she writes a slightly brooding a- hole, lots of humor and some good lovin’ in this story. I love Stevie’s determination to be her own person and not be the sister of someone famous. A nice, strong woman! Bishop, gets an injury from a hockey game in a sensitive area (!) and is rehabbed by the beautiful Stevie. It results in some pretty funny dialogue and sparks between them. I loved the words that were on his several pair of underwear. Thank you, Helena. Can’t wait to read whatever you write next!
“Sometimes we don’t see what’s right in front of us, though, do we?” I tip my chin up to meet his gaze. There are a whole lot of unspoken words there. Ones that need to remain that way.
From the first moment Stevie stumbles into Bishop’s world, they’re butting heads. He mistakenly thinks she’s a home wrecking puck bunny & she thinks he’s an egotistical, sarcastic & never fully dressed jerk. Well one of them’s right. I have to admit, it wasn’t love at first sight for me & Bishop. His grumbly, antagonistic attitude took a while to warm to, but he grew on me & ultimately won me over. This is definitely an enemies to lovers story, the initial loathing gradually turning to friendship as she helps him rehab from a painful injury & he helps rid her of a persistently slimy ex. There’s a lot of bickering & sexual chemistry brewing between these two on their way to finding love- it’s hot, swoony, flirty fun in the best slow burn kind of way.
Helena Hunting scores another goal with her new hockey romance.
After finding out about her now ex-boyfriend’s extracurricular activities, Stevie Bowman is forced to accept her NHL star brother’s offer to help. Feeling down in the dumps, she moves into his spare apartment in the middle of the night, but only after meeting her new bad-tempered neighbor. She should be just fine though, if she can find it in her to avoid the gorgeous man from across the hall who picks up his newspaper in extravagant boxer briefs.
Bishop Winslow wanted the team captain position when he joined the Seattle’s NHL expansion team. However, his life and career aren’t going quiet as planned. First he gets a new noisy, sharp tongued neighbor who he thought was his team’s captain’s mistress but turned out to be his sexy sister. Then he gets put on the bench for weeks due to a serious groin injury.
Fortunately, Stevie proposes a mutually beneficial bargain: she helps him with rehab while adding a professional athlete to her resume. There’s only one catch. They need to keep it professional. It should be fairly easy for two people who seem to antagonize each other on a daily basis, right?
Hunting expertly crafts Stevie and Bishop’s relationship which evolves from mutual annoyance to a friendship, which develops into love, tiptoeing a line they know they should not cross even when they realize their potential for happiness.
I loved their banter and every single one of their interactions. They’re back and forth was hilarious and filled with sizzling hot chemistry. But what I enjoyed the most was Bishop’s transformation from @hole to swoon worthy hero. Hunting totally nails it while making me laugh and smile. While Stevie is a great heroine, she’s sweet, feisty, smart, and refuses to use any of her brother’s fame to advance her career, it was Bishop’s well hidden, gentle, soft and gooey heart that reeled me in and put this book on my favorites list.
A Favor for A Favor is a standalone hockey romance in the All In series by Helena Hunting. This is an enemies to lovers, slow burn romance, told from both points of view, with a happy ending.
A Favor for a Favor by Helena Hunting is book two in her All In Series. While every book can easily be read as a stand-alone, I recommend to read the books in order. The previous book is A Lie for a Lie and tells Rook and Lainey’s story.
A Favore for a Favor is Stevie and Bishop’s story.
Stevie is Rook’s little sister, fresh from college with her first job as physiotherapeut. She doesn’t lean on her famous brother, she wants success all on her own. That seems difficult when she’s forced to move out of new home and away from her boyfriend.
Her new neighbor is Mr. McGrumperson himself. Bishop is a determined man. He wants to play sports and not much else. And when his sleep is disturbed by S. he isn’t amused at all. Anyway, they become neighbors and both love to prank each other, til Bishop needs help while injured.
Lets just say their meet cute wasn’t that cute at all , but on the way they grew on each other.
The book is an excellent written read, it’s a beautiful story, excellent written and beautifully thought out and beautifully told. I liked the storyline and the characters are great.5 beautiful Stars.
Stevie and Bishop are an AMAZING couple! Their journey is fun, flirty and fiery.
Helena Hunting is a great sports rom-com author. Her Pucked series is one of my absolute favorites, and the All In series is a spin-off that not only gives us more Alex and Violet (two of the best romcom characters ever invented), but it introduces us to a whole new team of players and a new setting in Seattle. The detail with which Helena describes the sport, the cities, the characters, confirms that she is an author that is fully invested in providing her readers with the best read possible, which is why she is one of the top authors in the genre.
Stevie and Bishop’s relationship gets off to a really rocky start – they absolutely hate each other. They consider the other the worst neighbor possible. Then, to top it off, Stevie is the sister of one of Bishop’s teammates, and there is no love lost there, either. But when Bishop gets injured and Stevie has to help him recover, they get the time and opportunity to put the first impressions aside and get to know each other, and that’s when the fun really begins.
Hilarious, touching, scorching hot, and simply amazing. The rom-com genre is in good hands as long as Helena Hunting keeps writing books like A Favor for a Favor.

* 5 I heart Shippy and Stevie stars *
Helena Hunting brings the humor and slow-burn heat to her latest story A Favor for a Favor and it was all I hoped for and more. While this is the second book in Hunting’s All In series, it reads as a complete standalone. It’s not necessary to read the first book (A Lie for a Lie) but I do highly recommend it because a) it’s awesome and b) it’ll give you some great backstory on Stevie and RJ’s family and relationship. But if you haven’t read it, you can still jump in with this story and enjoy everything it brings and you won’t feel lost at all.
I instantly fell in love with Stevie who rode in on the hot mess express and bulldozed her way into not only my heart but Bishop’s as well. She was such a fun and unconventional character. She was strong and direct and I adored everything about her. She pushed Bishop’s buttons in the best ways and that made their relationship truly dynamic. Bishop…..I was completely and unequivocally smitten with that man! Broody, filled with testosterone and with a chip on his shoulder, he and Stevie got off to a tough start. But as I watched their friendship/relationship flourish, I saw him blossom as well. He had so many layers to him and as each was peeled back they exposed the multi-dimensional man underneath. Together, Stevie and Bishop were the perfect compliment to one another. Their fun, flirty banter and interactions had me in stitches and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to come next with them.
Fans of Hunting will enjoy the scenes with Violet from the Pucked series…..because who can get enough of her crazy? Not me, that’s for sure! And if you haven’t met her yet, you’re in for a treat! Hunting also introduces us to a host of new characters and I can’t wait to learn more about them in the future. A Favor for a Favor is a definite YES for me! 5 stars
He’s the moody arse NHL player. She’s his team captains sister. So of course a relationship is forbidden, not that there is a relationship. They get off to a rough start, but then he finds he needs a favor from her. Being the kind person she is, despite his atrocious behavior towards her, she agrees to help, and well, things SLOWLY start to escalate from there. This is a little different than your normal romance, in the fact that he doesn’t really have any demons to face. He openly admits to being an asshole most of the time, but that is essentially his only downfall. She’s the one with the past she needs to try to overcome. That doesn’t come easy when her recent ex is constantly in her face. There’s plenty of humor. We get to see some of Alex and Violet from the Pucked series (and if you know Violet, you will enjoy the scenes she’s in.) 😀 The characters are good and well developed. Well written and reads smoothly. Of course there is some sexual content, but other than some innuendos, there is only a couple scenes of the act itself. Even so, it’s best saved for mature readers.
HH never fails to make me giggle with her humorous dialogue and quirky, lovable characters. HH’s characters are always likable. Bishop and Stevie are different than any of her other characters, which makes for interesting world building and complex relationships. This book is only one of many reasons why HH is a one-click author for me: I knew that I wouldn’t be able to put it down once I started. So, I waited as long as I could to read it, knowing that it would be over too soon. I was right. Bishop is addicting.
Helena has done it again. Another perfect read that I absolutely love. Stevie and Bishop are absolutely perfection together. This book held me captive and of course I was bummed when it ended. I absolutely love hockey reads and Helena’s is my all time favorite. Truly an amazing read with phenomenal characters that everyone must read.
What is it with man who are a-holes and broody that gets us going? Bishop is a poster-child for that type of a man and I fell head over heels for him in this story.
I knew I liked Stevie since book 1 but she was so much more than RJ’s little sister. She is feisty, sassy, loving but like every normal person she has her problems that make this story that more interesting. I loved Bishop and the way he gave her time to come around about how she feels about him. It was funny to read how clueless he was when he wanted nothing more but to be with her and show her that he sees who she really is.
Together they make cute couple and I was over the moon when they finally got over her (theirs) problem to reach the HEA they deserved.
Now I’m so excited for book 3 – I’m not sure I’ll make it till May. I need it NOW 😀

Bishop and Stevie are the ultimate couple! Bishop is the new hockey player and is the overly honest, takes no crap from anyone but has a heart of gold type of hunk. Stevie is RJ’s little sister who is One of Bishops teammates. Stevie is a sassy witty beautiful person that starts out with a rough breakup from a stupid ex and that’s how she moves into her brothers condo which is across the hall from Bishop. When these two meet sparks fly but it’s not because of your usual chemistry! I absolutely loved this couple and this book! It is a slow burn romance and even has some of my favorite character Violet to add some spunk and humor! I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc, but I loved it so much I purchased my own copy.
The story between Bishop one Stevie was one of the best books I have read in a while. I was hooked from the first page, and couldn’t get enough of their personalities. It is definitely a must read book, and probably my favorite Helena book to date…sorry Randy.
Stevie is such a fun, intelligent character, but she comes off as a hot mess at first. She has her reasons, and the way Bishop reacts to her had me wanting to know how their story was going to play out.
Bishop is closed off and feels like he wasn’t given a fair chance on his team. This animosity towards his team and teammates plus Stevie living across the hall makes his broodiness even worse which in turn makes the story that much more intriguing.
I honestly could not get enough of these characters. Their actions, self control, and overall slow burn relationship had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It was such a fun experience and the secondary characters added just the right amount of witty banter that we have all come to love in the Pucked and All In series. Kingston has so much mystery surrounding his character, and I want to know what’s up. The scenes that included Violet had me laughing out loud and making me want to reread Pucked.
-An Arc was generously provided in exchange for an honest review.
Bishop stole my heart. I mean it, he really did. You feel for the poor guy once you get to know him. You see such a wonderful side to him. He will make you laugh out loud with his antics. You will just love Stevie too. She has this strength and yet vulnerability too. She knows how to handle Bishop. You will love their banter and their relationship. You get why she doesn’t use her brother’s help much at all. My favorite part is you still get a little bit of Violet from the Puck series in this one. You will not like RJ much at all in this one especially once you read and fell in love with him in A Lie For A Lie. But you get it, when it comes to his sister Stevie he is doing what he thinks is right. You will just love all the men in this one. You will laugh out loud plenty of times throughout. Just you wait Stevie and Bishop will just steal your heart in A Favor for A Favor. You need to pick this one up.
I’m loving this new series by Helena! 5 hockey pucks for this one!
Meet Bishop, part of the new expansion team in Seattle, he was set to be captain until Rook waved his no trade clause and joined the team. So their dislike for each other is there. When he hears noise outside his apartment and goes to investigate it, he see’s a girl who looks like a wreck trying to get into his captains apartment. He laughs because looks like the captain has a side piece! Not so goody two shoes is he?
So Stevie, moves out to Seattle to meet up with her boyfriend who moved out there a few months earlier, only to find he’s not so lonely out here. So she moves into her brothers empty apartment, and struggling to get in past the lock on the door, disturbs the neighbor, who comes to the door in his underwear wondering what she’s doing.
These two start off on the wrong foot, but between them, the underwear fights, the over all trying to outdo the other adds humor to this story! I loved it! Grab this one asap!
The blurb did not do this book any justice. But that isn’t necessarily a bad thing as I did get kind of what I was expecting from the blurb, just that I also got so much more. And it was above and beyond what I thought I was getting when I started reading.
I loved the Pucked series and getting Violet and Alex in this series is a great tie in. But I love going in and falling for these whole new characters. And Bishop was just such a perfect hero, I fell for him straight away. He was so solid and dependable but he wasn’t afraid to show Stevie his sweetness and try to be more for her.
And I loved Stevie. She was everything I like in my h’s. She was strong and sassy but she didn’t try to hide her vulnerability. The chemistry between Bishop and Stevie was crackling off the page even while they were still hostile strangers.
I have to admit that seeing her brother from this point of view made me not like him all that much. But then that just made me focus more on how perfect Bishop was. And I am really hoping there’s a lot more to come.
A Favor for a Favor Bishop and Stevie’s story was epic, I laugh, I cry and sometimes I wanted to slap a few characters around to bring some senses to them. but in the end, this was an amazing read.
Stevie an amazing beautiful heroine that is starting as PT helping athletes to heal. “running” away from her past and a relationship that had left her a terrible taste and even a little afraid to open up again. She decides to move on with her life with the help of her older brother. She is strong and at the same time has fears and a few issues that make her more vulnerable but making her character more real. I love how she was always giving a hard time to Bishop and RJ. she was funny and liked to give them hell.
Bishop was not your typical cocky hockey player, he was reserved and very mature. Even if the hokey players usually had a terrible reputation, Bishop was always the privet guy, leaving the rest of the world to speculate about him and his relationship status. in charge of his brother Bishop only wants to keep his career flowing without any distraction or drama, he doesn’t have time for puck bunnies or parties, but soon things will start to change his new neighbor is about to change his life forever.
A Favor for a favor deals with insecurities and past issues that made Bishop and Stevie be on the fence, taking them longer to finally see the truth and trusting one and other. but life, circumstances, and friends are here to save the date.
Get ready to laugh so much, every character had something funny to say, Bishop, Stevie, RJ, and of coarse Violet will make you laugh and smile and cry with the roller coaster of emotions these two wonderful characters were evoking all around.
Love A favor for a favor, this new series is getting so great!!
I can’t wait for, A Secret For A Secret.
My heart is full!
4,5 to A Favor for a Favor!
If you’ve read A Lie For A Lie, you’ve meet Stevie, RJ’s sister. In the start of Favor for a Favor, Stevie is broken hearted and homeless after she found her boyfriend cheat on her on her birthday non the less! and as her brother, RJ set her up in his penthouse where Stevie meet mister grouchy a-hole hot boxer wearing who’s instantly become her number one pain in the behind neighbour.
Bishop Winslow doesn’t like his new neighbour. He see this little hot mess home wrecker. Oddly she also intrugue him. Her feisty mouth and definitly hot body with fire cracker attitude makes Bishop love to taunt her to react. Not long till their “hot” battle to commence.
It’s different vibe for this series from the Pucked series from the team angle. In Pucked, the boys have strong brotherhood camaraderie. In this series, the team is brand new. The boys is still fighting for their place in the team. Which effect their personality, I would say.
And that happen to Bishop. Never being a social person, he become a full a-hole for his unfriendly relationship with RJ as captain, new changing position on ice and then the injury.
While for Stevie, she believe she lives better in the shadow as RJ’s little sister. And then her bad break-up happened. Making her hide in the shadow of her own making. Until mister grouchy a-hole prove he’s so much than that.
Love this book for the way Helena Hunting makes Stevie and Bishop relation ship grow from bickering enemy to friend who flirt to slowly and gradually insert them self in each other skin.
The chemistry flow seamlessly.
The dialogue are fun, easy, hilarious, dirty and crazy normal.
The steamy scenes, when it’s finally happen after the easy and naughty flirtious banter, are hot!
The slow burn of their chemistry in fast pace story line, love it! For me it’s good for these two main character to take their time.
But yes, Favor for a Favor aren’t as crazy funny like Pucked series. But, Bishop still have his antics with his underwear. And Stevie with her pizza.
Overall, wanna smack RJ’ head for being over protective brother, love sweet n dirty talker Bishop, adore feisty n sexy Stevie, still laugh so hard on Violet over sharing bedazzling beaver
I had an ARC of this, I wasn’t totally in love with the pucked series at the time, but it made me go back and read the rest. Yay for giving author’s other chances.
Only Helena Hunting can incorporate fruit on a pizza (as an actual thing) while producing a new favorite book couple! The story of Bishop and Stevie starts off based on a series of unfortunate misunderstandings, content for each other with a twist of flirtation and hysterical circumstances that lead these two down a funny slow burn path to their forever.
Bishop isn’t a typical hot hockey playing playboy. He is an actual responsible, practical jerk at most times but with a heart of gold. Stevie on the other hand is a strong willed and direct straight shooter who plays along- as much as she won’t admit it- right into Bishops hands of morning flirting rituals. Going along on this journey of denial of their attraction for each other with them is so much fun you can not do anything but laugh out loud and enjoy all the twisty fun that comes along the way.
A Favor for a Favor is a great addition to the All In series!!
My new favorite book by Helena Hunting! This complex storyline hooks you from the first page until the last. The tension between Bishop and Stevi is palpable and their chemistry is explosive. I absolutely loved the slow burn and build up. It makes for an entertaining, laugh out loud and flirty read. I highly recommend this book.
