From the New York Times bestselling author of Pucked and A Lie for a Lie, a new stand-alone romance about trading favors, battling wills, and winning love. When I joined Seattle’s NHL expansion team, I thought it was the start of something great. But nothing ever goes the way you expect. Take my introduction to my new neighbor. She came rolling in on the hot mess express at midnight, making a … mess express at midnight, making a racket while she tried to get into my team captain’s apartment. Did I mention that he’s married to a woman who definitely was not her?
Imagine my surprise when I end up with an injury that has me out of the game for weeks, and she’s the one to offer to help me. I should probably add that she’s not the captain’s mistress. She’s his sexy, pastel-haired younger sister.
So we come up with an arrangement: she rehabs me so that I can get back on the ice sooner, and she can add a professional athlete that isn’t her brother to her client list. Seems simple enough. As long as I can keep my hands to myself and my hormones in check.

A Favor For A Favor is the second title in the All In series, but can easily be read as a standalone. Whilst I enjoyed the first title in this series A Lie For A Lie, I was enthralled and captivated by Stevie and Bishop’s story and highly recommend this slow burn enemies to lovers romance.
Stevie is RJ’s younger sister and was first introduced in A Lie for A Lie. She’s my kind of heroine, intelligent, strong, sassy, feisty, independent and strong willed.
Bishop comes across as grumpy and brooding hero and honestly a bit of an asshole, but underneath his gruff exterior is a big hearted, sweet, caring and compassionate man who is driven to succeed, so that he can provide for those he cares for most.
The sexual tension between this pair oozes off the page and their banter is fun, flirty, antagonistic and full of witty and humorous one liners.
Whilst for the most part this title is light and fun, it also has some serious undertones, and I can’t wait for the next release in the series.
Any time I get to visit the Pucked world, it’s going to be a good day. I was a huge fan of Chicago but now that this series is set in Seattle, I have a new team (sorry, boys!!)
Bishop is something else. He’s such a jerk so much of the time, it’s amazing that he’s not getting constantly punched in the face. When he meets Stevie for the first time, he couldn’t have made a worse first impression. As if I wasn’t already a fan of her after she handled her ex, my fandom expanded exponentially when she handled Bishop. I love a leading lady who won’t take any nonsense from anyone and Stevie has that on lock.
This book is hilarious and it made me shed a tear or two. I loved the friendship that Bishop and Stevie built while she was helping rehab his injury. Their connection is so genuine and felt so real that I had no choice but to root for them. I can’t wait for more of this series!!
I was lucky enough to win and arc of this book and so glad I did.
This is Bishop Winslow and Stevie Bowman story.
Stevie has just come out of a bad relationship she is starting a new job Seattle so with no where to stay her bother Rook offers his apartment.
After a journey from hell she arrives at her new apartment and making to much noise trying to get into the apartment, she gets to meet her new neighbour in his underpants Bishop the first in counter is full of banter and hilarious, but not what Stevie is expecting he thinks she an home wrecker she thinks his an asshole.
Bishop is a professional hockey player for the (NHL) with bad attitude well so everyone thinks, he plays on the same team with Stevie brother Rook, but Bishop don’t know that nor does Stevie so it’s very interesting how that story unfolds.
Bishop has a bad accident on the ice all he want’s to do is get back on the ice he is willing to try anything to get him there quicker, So it comes as a shock when Stevie offers to give him extra physio all he has to do is give her a reference that she help an NHL player.( a favour for a favour)
The more time Bishop and Stevie spend together will have you cracking up the banter and chemistry between them both is comical you will be rooting for both of them the sexy innuendos will have you crying with laughter.
Also the honesty between the two of them is heartwarming she see’s a side to Bishop that no one has ever seen and he loves he honesty sassy mouth and her attitude a match made in heaven.
Bonus for us is we get more Alex & Violet no filter as usual and she never lets us down.
Will Bishop and Stevie get the HEA well you better read it to find out and ps more to come.
Helena Hunting is one of my favorite authors and A Favor for a Favor may be one of favorite books of all time. I completely fell in love with this story and Stevie and Bishop from the very first page.
This is a slow burn, but Bishop and Stevie are worth the wait. There is so much banter in this story and you can’t help but laugh out loud. Stevie is new to Seattle and after getting a not so pleasant surprise form an ex on her brother she finds herself living in her brother, RJ’s, penthouse. Her new neighbor is a grump who likes to hang out in his pretty funny underwear. It quickly becomes a game between the two of them. Bishop has some not so nice opinions of his new neighbor, that is until he finds out who she is.
Stevie and Bishop of chemistry from the start. I loved their little morning game routine. These two are up there with one of my favorite Helena couples ever! I didn’t want their story to end because I couldn’t get enough of them. They are perfect for each other and once they decide to stop playing games and give in to their chemistry things get EXPLOSIVE.
A Favor for A Favor can be read as a complete standalone, but it is the second book in the All In series. If you want more of Stevie’s brother, RJ, then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading book 1, A Lie for a Lie.
Stevie and Bishop are one of my favorite book couples of 2020 and this is one of my top reads for 2020!
A Favor for a Favor was quite entertaining! Stevie and Bishop are a funny duo when they’re with one another. They have a lot of banter back and forth, usually because Bishop is being a jerk. They both grow a lot throughout the book, which is good because Bishop isn’t very likable for a while there. He takes some time to get used to and like, but he really is a good guy deep down that can be sweet and protective. Stevie is easy to like with her quirkiness, sarcasm, and jokes. RJ wasn’t the best brother in this book; he was quite irritating actually, but he has his reasons. I enjoyed the storyline overall and found it to be cute and funny, especially the epilogue. Can’t wait for a Secret for a Secret! *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
A Favor for a Favor is the second in a series of connected stand-alone stories that started with A Lie for a Lie. This time we get to know Stevie (the sister of Rook/RJ from book 1). We also get to know Bishop, he is Stevie’s neighbor and Rook’s teammate/nemesis.
When it comes to characters, I really liked both Stevie and Bishop. They are both a lot more complex than they appear in the beginning and it was a pleasure to see the nuances of their personalities emerge the more time we spent with them.
The story between Stevie and Bishop is multifaceted and entertaining. There is a misunderstanding/enemies phase, a let’s help each other phase, a sweet friendship, then more. Each phase of the plot is well written and pulls the reader more into the story and had me rooting for them.
Add in an overbearing bother/teammate, a persistent ex boyfriend, and a couple of good friends and you have an excellent secondary cast. This group helps had flavor to the story as they help get Stevie and Bishop into trouble and out again.
There were a couple of small things in the story that I felt unresolved and while they weren’t deal breakers, I kept waiting for the resolution. Both were related to the apartment Stevie was supposed to have with her ex- issues that Stevie needed to deal with, but didn’t.
Overall, I had fun with A Favor for a Favor. I am looking forward to seeing what might be next in this series.
I couldn’t put it down! I couldn’t read this one fast enough. What a great book! Bishop & Stevie were raw, emotional & real. Their banter was absolutely amazing! Great book, great series!!
Helena Hunting’s sexy hockey player harem has added another delicious member in the form of Bishop Winslow. He is a sexy grump, good looking beyond words and deliciously naughty. Stevie is beautifully broken for so many reasons. Growing up in her big brother’s hockey playing shadow has given her a complex and closed her off to that whole world. Needing a place to live she crashes at her brother’s, team appointed condo; right across from sexy boxer shorts sporting, hockey playing god, Bishop. The two get off on the wrong foot and their animosity towards each other grows in hilarious proportion. But as always the line between lust and hate is as thin as a skate blade and these two burn hot, on either end of the spectrum. Their hilarious boxer(his) vs athletic running shorts (hers) morning paper shenanigans come to a head when he suffers a groin injury and she offers to be his physiotherapist. Game.on. I absolutely loved their slow burn romance and couldn’t wait for them to give into it. A deliciously sweet hockey read with a side of forbidden romance. TBR and enjoy yet another great book by Helena Hunting. (I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.)
A FAVOR FOR A FAVOR is the second instalment in Helena Hunting’s contemporary, adult ALL IN erotic, romance series focusing on NHL’s newest expansion team from Seattle. This is Seattle team member Bishop Winslow, and twenty-four year old, physiotherapist Stevie Bowman’s story line. A FAVOR FOR A FAVOR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. The ALL IN series is a spin off from the author’s PUCKED series but you do not have to have read the original series to follow.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Bishop and Stevie) A FAVOR FOR A FAVOR follows the teammate’s little sister/enemies to lovers relationship between Seattle ‘s newest forward Bishop Winslow, and twenty-four year old, physiotherapist Stevie Bowman. Stevie Bowman’s life was spiralling out of control: a move to Seattle to start a new job and join her boyfriend finds our heroine homeless when she discovers said boyfriend in bed with another woman. Leaning on her brother for support, Stevie moves into Rook Bowman’s vacant apartment only to come face to face with his new neighbor, a man who pushes all of Stevie’s buttons and more. Enter Seattle’s newest defenseman Bishop Winslow, and the man with whom Stevie will fall in love. What ensues is the building but acrimonious relationship between Stevie and Bishop, and the potential fall-out when their relationship is discovered by Stevie’s brother, and the team coach.
Stevie Bowman had no idea what to expect when she moved to Seattle but finding her boyfriend in bed with someone else was never on her mind. Moving into her brother’s vacant apartment, Stevie will encounter Bishop Winslow, an irritating a$$hole who believes Stevie is nothing more than a desperate puck bunny looking to hook up with Seattle’s team captain. Bishop Winslow couldn’t believe the nerve of the woman moving into Rook Bowman’s apartment but a pre-season injury finds Winslow facing down his new neighbour when he discovers that Stevie is a physio-therapist, and the person who will help Bishop in his daily recovery.
The relationship between Bishop and Stevie begins acrimoniously. Bishop is all bark, and Stevie isn’t taking any of his crap. But an injured Bishop forces Stevie to make an offer Bishop cannot refuse-a favor for a favor-that will benefit both. The $ex scenes are limited but spicy and hot.
We are reintroduced to Stevie’s brother Rook ‘RJ’ Bowman and his wife Lainey, and coach Alex Waters and his wife Violet, as well as goalie Ryan Kingston: Bishop’s brother Nolan Winslow who struggles daily with his health; physiotherapists Pattie and Jules: and Stevie’s ex boyfriend Joey Smuck-yep Joey Smuck. Ryan’s story line is next in A Secret for a Secret.
A FAVOR FOR A FAVOR is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love; of stubborn men, and stronger women. The premise is entertaining and captivating; the slow building romance is passionate and seductive; the characters are colorful and energetic-the back and forth banter is often playful and fun.
I absolutely loved this book, it had me laughing a lot and had me wanting slap both main characters. This book was so well written and kept me intrigued and entertained the whole time. I can’t wait for the next one.
An amazing 6 star story that had me reading it in one sitting. The night before I read A Lie For A Lie also in one sitting. Once I started I couldn’t seem to be able to put it down.
An highly entertaining and addicting story. It was funny and had me laughing out loud so many times. The bantering between Stevie and Bishop was to die for.
I can safely say it could be read as a standalone but I’m glad I read A Lie For A Lie before. Told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
This is the first book I’ve read from this author though she’s been on my radar for awhile. I really enjoyed Stevie and Bishop’s story and read it in one sitting. Theirs is a slow burn that starts with more than a few misconceptions. It was comical watching the back and forth between them, Bishop is brusque and irritable and Stevie has a witty comeback and snark for days. Both are used as a shield to mask all that is going on internally for each of them. But the more time the spend together the inevitable happens, though they both try to fight it for reasons of their own.
Their story is a slow burn, with plenty of innuendo and tension, should they or shouldn’t they, it also has funny moments and supporting characters that I wouldn’t mind seeing more of in the future.
„Everyone has a demon or two, Stevie. You just gotta learn how to live with them and find other people who think all your good parts outweigh the bad.”
I have no idea how Helena Hunting does it, but every single one of her books brings me such indescribable joy that it’s able to put a smile on my face even on the worst day. Her typical sense of humor makes me crack up, her sarcastic inserts make me snort, and the ever-present sexual tension makes me fan myself constantly. A Favor for a Favor is another epic book that will make you laugh, swoon and burn from all the sexiness!
I adore Stevie, her need for independence and doing her best to make a name for herself. She’s confident, feisty, sassy and sharp-tongued. She gives as much as she gets and doesn’t let anyone belittle her. I had many moments when I wanted to high-five her and buy her a drink. Bishop appeared at the beginning as this grumpy, broody and rude jerk, but with every turned page we get to learn that he’s actually very sweet and loyal. From growling grizzly he has shifted into care-bear. He’s the type of hero you fall in love with hard. Their first encounter was a complete distarter. Wrong assumptions mixed with instant attraction resulted in hilarious insults and constant banter between Bishop and Stevie. But then it changed into frienship combined with mutual professional help. Their relantionship development was so entertaining, funny and sweet! I couldn’t get enough of these two! The chemistry was completely off the charts and their sexy times were indescribably HOT!
Helena once again claimed her title as a rom-com royalty. Her witty and brilliant writing style shines bright in A Favor for a Favor and brings incredible pleasure from reading it. This slow burn, enemies to lovers romance is a must read. It’s funny, steamy and totally addicting. I couldn’t put it down!
Bishop Winslow is not the most friendly of guys. He is a self-confessed asshole. Stevie has had an asshole of a day, when she arrives at her temporary new home. Her welcoming committee to the floor is Bishop, well let’s just say it’s not the most advantageous of meetings. He presumes she’s the mistress of his married team captain, so he doesn’t greet her in an exactly pleasant manner. Stevie totally unaware that Bishop is her big brother’s teammate doesn’t bother to set him straight, instead giving as much snark back as she received.
A series of ‘accidental’ hallway meetings are the beginning of a sort of friendship, though neither are going to admit the chemistry that is growing. Until a favour for a favour has Stevie helping to rehab a badly injured Bishop, & Bishop helping get the message across to Stevie douchebag ex.
Stevie gross idea of the prefect pizza topping made me laugh, as did Bishop’s reaction to it & his use of this as a seduction technique. I couldn’t wait for each scene with Bishop in his boxers just to see what was on the next pair (honestly it had nothing to do with Helena’s descriptions of hot hockey player’s body!!!), but really who buys boxers like that for themselves.
Now don’t get me wrong it’s not all plain sailing, Bishop is a monumental ass at times; RJ, Stevie’s brother must have his say, even when it none of his business & Stevie is kinda guarded. But it wouldn’t be such a fun read if everyone was prefect, now would it. You need those chapters where you just want to roll your eyes at the characters or scream for goodness sake just talk to each other.
Helena writes good banter, snark, chemistry & sexy times, her characters feel like real people with flaws & quirks.
Netgalley ARC from the publisher Montlake Romance in return for an honest review, but also bought the book.
What an awesome book! Love all the characters in this new series. We even get some old characters to share the love. Violet makes her presence known in Seattle as the wife of the new head coach of the expansion team.
I love Helena’s hockey books, she is so knowledgeable of the sport. Her characters are well developed and funny as heck. This book made me laugh so much I cried.
This is a standalone sports/hockey romance from Helena Hunting’s All In Series with an HEA.
The plot was entertaining from start to finish. The characters were awesome! I loved the family dynamic. We get to see other characters from A Lie for a Lie (Book #1 from the All In Series). Stevie is the little sister of RJ and Bishop is RJ’s teammate. RJ and Bishop do not get along at all. Stevie and Bishop meet when she is trying to get into her brother’s penthouse which happens to be funded by the hockey team. Things don’t get off to a great start because she is making a great deal of noise and unsuccessfully trying to get into the penthouse. Bishop comes out and reams her for waking him up. The tension, insults, and push and pull ensue from there! It was an epic battle of wills until an opportunity to do a favor for a favor presents itself. I laughed out loud so many times, and don’t get me started on Bishop’s choice of underwear. That in itself was entertaining. LOL! I loved the banter and sexual tension between Bishop and Stevie. Their relationship wasn’t easy and there is a lot of back and forth, misunderstanding, and missed cues but it was worth it. What starts out as a favor becomes so much more than they bargained for.
Although there were emotional aspects of this story, it was mostly a light-hearted, steamy, enjoyable read that I hate to see come to an end. I recommend reading it, and look forward to seeing what comes next!
****ARC generously provided in exchange for an honest review.****
This couple and story were perfection, I thought I loved the first book, but this book knocked it out and scored a hat trick on me! I can’t wait for the next book!
Bishop is rude and irritating, his assholery knows no bounds but yet I fell in love with him anyway. His and Stevie’s first meeting was unconventional to say the least. I mean come on, he said she was a boner-killer within 5 minutes of “meeting” her. Who does that? Bishop apparently!
Stevie has had some ridiculously bad luck and this is only her first day in Seattle, she doesn’t even have a place of her own now that her ex screwed her over.
These two are infuriatingly cute! I loved it so much. The attraction was obvious and adorable and everything I wanted. I couldn’t read this book fast enough but yet I didn’t want it to end. I was so conflicted, I loved the torture!
This series is definitely becoming a favorite of mine very quickly. This series is my first venture into this wonderful world Helena has created and I love it so much. I am thinking I need to read Violet’s book because she was cracking me up in just the small glimpses of her that I saw in this book. Like seriously, bedazzled ? Do people really do that?? I HAVE to read more of her, I have a feeling she is going to become a favorite instantly.
I really enjoy the fact that we get to see quite a bit of RJ and Lainey in this book. It was nice to “catch up with them”.
I can’t wait to see who she is going to write about next. I love her characters and her witty sense of humor! Thank you for your words Helena, never stop writing! If you haven’t read her books, wait no more! GO BUY THEM NOW!!
Fun, snarky, clever, hilarious, hot and heartfelt. And fun. So much FUN!! Gah! I adore Bishop and Stevie! The scene when they first meet is more of a meet-murderous than a meet-cute, and the momentum just snowballs from there.
Stevie Bowman is not having a good day. She moved to Seattle with her boyfriend, both lives and works with him, and just walked in on him and another woman in their bed. It’s late, she’s devastated, she’s tired, she’s frustrated with fighting her broken suitcase and just wants the stupid lock on her brother’s empty apartment to work. Then she gives us my favorite line in the book after tripping due to the problematic suitcase: “I lie there for a few seconds, waiting for a piano or a safe to fall from the ceiling and land on top of me, because it’s been that kind of a day.” Hashtag NoTruerWords
Enter Bishop Winslow, teammate of Stevie’s brother RJ and the across-the-hall neighbor, in all of his glorious, larger-than-life, boxer-clad beauty. Too bad his personality is the exact opposite of his looks. There’s not a compassionate cell in his DNA for the hot mess that is Stevie as he reams her out for making so much noise. Even worse, he makes assumptions that increase his jerk quotient by about a thousand percent. And then things really get interesting. When Bishop gets injured during a hockey game, Stevie agrees to work her physical therapy magic on his injury to get him back in the game sooner.
With an abundance of madcap comedy, sarcastic and entertaining banter, and laugh-out-loud moments, this book also goes surprisingly deep. Stevie has always been in the shadow of her famous brother, and RJ treats Stevie more like he’s her father than her brother. With as strong, ambitious and feisty as Stevie is, it was interesting to see how this dynamic was played out. And Bishop, for all of his bluster and jerk factor, really cares about the people in his life but has a few lessons coming his way, as well.
This one captivated me from the very first scene and I flew through the pages, reading it in one sitting. With the essential elements of humor, heat and heart woven perfectly together throughout the story for the maximum emotional impact, these characters will live in my heart forever. If you like a book that takes you on the best kind of emotional roller coaster, leaves your face with a smile and your heart with a happy sigh, you absolutely won’t want to miss this one!
Taming The Jerk
Another incredible couple to love! A fun, sexy read with a hot, moody NHL hockey player and a sassy, snarky woman who will make him work for it. Bishop may be a bit of a jerk, but you’ll fall in love with him anyway.
When the worst day of your life turns out to be the best thing to ever happen. Well, it might take some time to come to that realization, but it will be worth the wait.
Stevie is celebrating a birthday and no better way to do that than to surprise her boyfriend by arriving early. It didn’t quite go the way she planned.
Now with an ex-boyfriend and no place to go, her brother lets her stay at the penthouse his team gives him for the season. And just when things can’t get worse, she meets Bishop. He’s the jerk that lives across the hall. Let the battle of wills begin.
All Stevie has ever wanted was to make her own way in life. She doesn’t want to be riding her famous hockey player brother’s coattails or have anyone use her because of her connections. So when an opportunity arises to get ahead, she’s ready to take it, even if it means getting close to the jerk living across the hall.
Bishop has suffered a serious injury during a game. Stevie has the necessary skills to hasten his recovery. Both benefit from the agreement. He’ll help her get experience with a professional athlete and she’ll help him get back on the ice faster. It’s the best idea ever. They just need to keep it professional.
An enemies-to-friends-to-lovers rom com with so much witty banter and a slow burn that will sizzle. This author always bring characters that make me smile and fall in love. The women are independent, strong and take no crap. The men are sweet for their women and go all in. I absolutely loved this couple. This series gets better with every release.
You can’t help but love an athletically built man who walks around in his sexy underwear all the time. We should all be so lucky.
