From the New York Times bestselling author of Pucked and A Lie for a Lie, a new stand-alone romance about trading favors, battling wills, and winning love. When I joined Seattle’s NHL expansion team, I thought it was the start of something great. But nothing ever goes the way you expect. Take my introduction to my new neighbor. She came rolling in on the hot mess express at midnight, making a … mess express at midnight, making a racket while she tried to get into my team captain’s apartment. Did I mention that he’s married to a woman who definitely was not her?
Imagine my surprise when I end up with an injury that has me out of the game for weeks, and she’s the one to offer to help me. I should probably add that she’s not the captain’s mistress. She’s his sexy, pastel-haired younger sister.
So we come up with an arrangement: she rehabs me so that I can get back on the ice sooner, and she can add a professional athlete that isn’t her brother to her client list. Seems simple enough. As long as I can keep my hands to myself and my hormones in check.

My favourite read so far this year! I love Helena Hunting books, and this has quickly made it up to the top of my favourites list. Bishop is a growly, socially inept alpha hole and I, quite frankly, am in love. Stevie is the perfect mix of vulnerability and sass, and together the just give me All. The. Feels. The perfect mix of fun, heat and angst. Now, I’m off get my husband some novelty boxers so he can channel his inner Bishop!
Let me start by saying that I love Stevie’s hair and Bishop’s boxers. Why? Because it needs to be said! And it also clears the way for all the ways these two are so much more than they appear to be. Much as I enjoyed their first meeting.. and all the ensuing peephole/newspaper shenanigans, what really made this book shine was the underlying tenderness. Like, here’s this huge, muscular, aggressive hockey player… but hey, he’s basically just a regular guy trying to take care of his brother and it’s not his thing to be social, and I felt that at such a deep level. Similarly with Stevie. She’s smart, she’s motivated, she is so good at what she does. She’s the girl with the funnest hair! But the way she’s struggling with her own set of problems is extremely relatable. It isn’t over the top, it is just life, and relationships, and situations that can happen. And what makes this book so lovely is the way these characters connect so deeply and convincingly beneath the superficial level of attraction and banter. The way they banter is super fun though. In fact any page that they are on together is guaranteed gold. Apart from the main cast, as usual the rest are awesome as well… it’s cute to see Alex as a coach, and I really wish I could join Violet’s movie time. That seriously sounds like a blast. I loved Stevie’s new friends, and Bishop’s brother … there’s so much more to that boy, and I wouldn’t have minded seeing more of him! But good lord, can I just thank the author for King? I’m so excited to read more of him!!
A Favor for a Favor . . . it’s good to have someone owe you one, because you never know when you’ll need to call it in!
Bishop Winslow isn’t having the best year. Traded to the new NHL expansion team, he’s expecting to be named captain only to lose out to someone who acts like the golden boy of hockey and pushes for Bishop to play Defense because of his size. Under close scrutiny of the coach and a captain who he hates, things go even further downhill when a hot mess of a woman becomes his new neighbor after she shows up making way too much noise at his hated and very married captain’s apartment.
Stevie Bowman needs to catch a break. After moving to Seattle with her boyfriend so they can both work at the same sports clinic, she walks in on him cheating with another woman. With no money in the bank after grad school and no place to go, her brother offers her his apartment, furnished by the team, so she has a place to stay until she gets back on his feet. All she wanted was some quiet. Instead she gets a verbally combative neighbor who never seems to wear more than his boxer briefs while berating her in the hall. At least he’s good to look at!
Insult after insult turns into a game of one-up manship each day as both Bishop and Winslow try to outdo one another with their crazy underwear styles while picking up their morning papers. But, when Bishop is sidelined by a serious injury, Stevie offers her services as a physiotherapist to help Bishop rehab his injury and get back on the ice quicker so that she can have a professional athlete on her resume. As their mutually beneficial relationship starts to grow into something more, Bishop also helps Stevie deal with her annoying ex. (Queue laugh after laugh!)
Unable to keep their hands to themselves, now they’ll have to deal with the fallout of Stevie’s brother who hates Bishop, an unhappy coach who feels like Bishop put himself first rather than the team, a viral video putting them both in the spotlight and a bunch of misunderstandings and freakouts.
I just have to say, I am so in love with this couple! They are completely unconventional in every way . . . I mean, underwear wars? Bishop is super gruff on the outside and definitely not a people person and Stevie is all about pushing his buttons to which he responds in kind. But, there is something about them that just clicks and makes them work so well! I loved watching them form a mutually beneficial working relationship that turned into one smoking hot romance!
I adored that Stevie wants to make it on her own merits rather than on her brother’s fame. And, the fact that Bishop gets all snarky alpha when dealing with Stevie’s ex is hella hot!
A Favor for a Favor was fun and flirty, had some of the best banter and dialogue I’ve read in a while and had me fanning myself from how hot this couple was. 5 stars!
Well that was… basically perfection. I knew I was going to enjoy this, but Helena Hunting outdid herself with this one. It’s a light and funny romance with so much depth; a slow burn that crackles with sexual tension. Bishop has got to be one of my all-time favorite romance heroes – he’s a lovable jerk with a gigantic heart who isn’t a manwhore, respects Stevie in a major way, and connects with her on a deep level before things turn physical. This enemies to lovers romance held my attention from start to finish – I loved every minute of it.
The story follows Stevie, a physiotherapist and sister of a famous hockey player, RJ. When she goes through a bad breakup, her brother lets her stay at his empty apartment for a while, but a misunderstanding leads her new neighbor to think she is RJ’s mistress. Brash and unfiltered Bishop isn’t all that fond of his teammate to begin with, but when he thinks RJ has put his mistress up in her own apartment, he takes out his irritation on Stevie. The two go through a series of misunderstandings until they somehow find themselves exchanging favors after Bishop is injured on the ice. The more time they spend together, the more they realize that they had their first impressions all wrong.
I’ve always enjoyed Hunting’s work and was definitely looking forward to this because of the premise, but it exceeded my expectations by far. It’s not a short book, but I still managed to finish it in less than a day, letting those pages fly as I got to know these two. I loved their bantering/bickering, the chemistry that was evident from the very beginning, and the slow burn that gave their relationship so much depth. We also got to know King pretty well, and I am absolutely looking forward to reading his book next. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC via Social Butterfly PR (then purchased it for my collection), and am voluntarily leaving a review of this rom com with heart.
4 stars!
The moment I met Stevie in A Lie for a Lie , featuring her brother Rook, I knew I would love her story, and A Favor for a Favor did not disappoint! When Stevie walks in on her boyfriend cheating, on her birthday no less, she heads to her brother’s extra apartment to pick up the pieces of her heart. She is a mess and when she meets her brother’s neighbor, she is not impressed by his rude comments and the way he seems to hate her on sight.
They start things off on the wrong foot but when Bishop is injured on the ice, she realizes that they may be able to help each other out. She is a physiotherapist and if she can work on his injury and get him on the ice sooner, he can give her a glowing recommendation to help gain higher profile clients. A favor for a favor, it seems like a perfect plan.
A Favor for a Favor is an entertaining, hilarious, enemies-to-lovers sports romance that is easy to read and easy to love. The storyline is original and the characters are wonderful. Stevie is feisty and sassy, and has such a fun personality. She also has a backbone and can hold her own, making me love her even more. Bishop is working his butt off on the ice and he has a lot to lose if he doesn’t heal up quickly. He is a total jerk in the beginning but I understood where he was coming from once I learned why he was so upset when Stevie moved into Rook’s place.
From the beginning, even when they didn’t like one another, the attraction was there. The sexual tension skyrockets when Stevie starts helping Bishop with his physiotherapy. There are a lot of hands on moments during their sessions and Bishop’s response to being so close to Stevie is hilarious.
“You’d think you’d never seen a set of bare legs before.” She helps me lower myself into the tub and steps out.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a pair up close,” I grumble.
“Such a surprise, with your warm, fuzzy personality.”
There is also the fact that Stevie is the sister of Bishop’s teammate and he is now her client, both of which add to the forbidden aspect to the story, giving us a little more intensity between the two of them when they are together.
The progression of their relationship felt real, and though it starts off with a lot of hostility, Stevie and Bishop are a hoot. I was literally laughing out loud throughout the whole book. The banter is awesome and they both give as good as they get.
When Bishop decides to make his move it’s exhilarating and intense! They bring on the heat but still have a fun side when they start to get serious.
“I better not have the energy to do anything but sleep after you’re done with me.”
I push up on my arms so I can meet her hot, needy gaze. “Is that a challenge?”
Things are right on track when they hit a bump in the road that may be too hard to overcome. Thankfully, the drama isn’t over the top or drawn out too long so Stevie and Bishop can have the happily ever after they deserve!!
I really enjoyed A Favor for a Favor and am excited for A Secret for a Secret, the next book in the series. Ryan Kingston, AKA King, is coming in May!
5 Stars!
Bishop Winslow is an NHL player for the brand new expansion team in Seattle. He’s getting used to a new team, and settling into a new routine. He needs his sleep, so he’s not too thrilled when a hot mess of a woman is making all kinds of noise at midnight trying to get into his team captain’s penthouse apartment. He automatically thinks the worst of her. He later learns his new pink haired neighbor is his teammate’s little sister, but not before he makes a terrible first impression.
Stevie Bowman is a 24 yr. old woman who is fresh from graduate school and about to start her new job as a physiotherapist. She’s just arrived in Seattle, and nothing goes as planned. She’s an emotional mess, and her professional hockey star brother offers up his empty apartment for her to stay in. When she’s at her lowest, she meets her insanely hot new neighbor who is also full of attitude. He might be a jerk with a horrible personality, but he sure is easy on the eyes.
Suddenly Bishop is benched after he gets injured. He needs to get back on the ice sooner rather than later, so when his feisty neighbor offers her PT skills to him, he will do anything to heal faster. This includes trying to be professional, and resist the undeniable attraction between them.
Rehabbing an NHL player will be great for Stevie’s career, but trying to ignore the chemistry that sizzles every time she puts her hands on him is about to drive her crazy. He’s a gorgeous man, and it’s hard to pretend she doesn’t want him desperately. As they get more attached, and their connection grows, they have trouble fighting their feelings.
A Favor For A Favor (All In Book 2) by Helena Hunting is a fantastic enemies to lovers sports romance. It’s a new sexy, standalone full of hilarious banter, amazing chemistry, and unexpected, beautiful love. I loved this story so much, and couldn’t put this book down! It’s my favorite I’ve read this year, and will definitely be in my top reads of 2020!
Can Helena Hunting be any better at this writing gig? Seriously, I loved her stories and characters. Her Al In series have me addicted and A Favor for a Favor is a new favorite to add to my list! Stevie and Bishop are my new peeps! I loved watching these two to try to avoid what was really out there. Especially when we find out who Stevie is related too. I saw the “forbidden” written all over that bad boy. But when they let it go…sizzling sparks flew! Another story I can’t help but recommend!
LOVE these Characters!
The 2nd book in the “All In” series by Helena Hunting. If you enjoy sports romance, or even better Pro Hockey romance this is a must read. Stevie moves into her brothers empty penthouse after a nasty breakup. Her neighbor is none other than Bishop Winslow an NHL player on her brothers new team. She has no clue who he is, and he assumes she’s his team mates mistress. A hilarious first meeting and more wrong assumptions about one other this story is both funny and heartwarming. You will find yourself rooting for their happy ending way before they get there. Some new interesting characters ,plus Rook and Lainey from Book 1. Best of all we see Alex and Violet from the “Pucked” series. A must read!
To say our Hero, Bishop and heroine, Stevie, start off on the wrong foot is a gross understatement! Stevie happens to be the younger sister of Bishop’s “rival,” Rook, on his new hockey team, but he doesn’t know that when he grumpily opens his apartment door to find out who’s making the noisy racket outside. Mistaken identities, innate competitiveness, flirtatious oneupmanship stir the chemistry between these two. When they eventually figure out a mutually beneficial arrangement the chemistry threatens to combust. The story is told from a dual point of view so we know how close each is to striking that match that could blow-up their tentative truce.
Hilarious!
This is a fun and hilarious story! Bishop might be a jerk to the world as a whole, but he really is just a sweetheart. Maybe that all comes out when he is attracted to a woman and his heart is involved or it could be just when a certain therapist is around.
I love their secret competition, even though neither one really knows it’s a competition. It’s fun and extreme in its secret way. This story has a lot of quirky moments and subtle humor to keep you laughing. I really love Bishop’s love, compassion, and concern for his brother and the health issues he suffers.
I really enjoyed Stevie’s ease in being a female sports physical therapist. She is very comfortable in her ability, knowledge, and has the confidence to treat high profile athletes without the help of her famous brother.
This story is so well written, combining fun, humor, reality, and hot, sexy athletes as well as compassion, and heartfelt emotions. I loved it!
A Favor for a Favor was absolutely hilarious, sexy and endearing. Helena Hunting never disappoints, and that didn’t start with the second standalone in the All In series. I’ve been excited to continue reading Hunting’s latest hockey spin-off series since I finished A Lie for a Lie. And my anticipation and excitement was met with an incredibly entertaining, five-star read that I highly recommend.
A Favor for a Favor is a slow burn, witty sports romance with the perfect combination of both an enemies to lovers and a friends to lovers trope. When I sat down to write the review for my latest five star read, I was on the fence about whether I would term it enemies to lovers or friends… it’s so hard without really getting into the nitty-gritty of the storylines, so I will let you decide which side of the fence you fall onto. On the other hand, Bishop and Stevie’s chemistry is undeniable from the get-go. As is the instant attraction, simmering frustration and sexual tension compiled with developing friendship and witty banter making A Favor for a Favor the romance that offers allll the feels! You’ll be laughing out loud and so hot under the collar, you’ll be in desperate need of a cold shower. The story is face-paced and kept me entertained from start to finish. I read this in one sitting—honestly, I couldn’t put it down if I tried. The writing is stellar and no-one does sports-romance quite like Helena Hunting. If you’ve not read A Lie for a Lie, you can still pick up this one and read it without any difficulty whatsoever. One-Click A Favor for a Favor because it’s romance perfection in just 300 pages!!!
OH I love these hockey books from Helena! she delivers the perfect blend of humour and hotness.
I loved Stevie! this girl is feisty considering shes having the worse day of her life she doesn’t back down to the hot, grumpy neighbour she finds herself faced with. This then begins an enemies-to-friends-to-lovers story that will hold you captive and keep you thoroughly entertained from beginning to end.
Bishop, I love this broody, sexy a*hole. He is focused and can I say I love his sloganed pants and would love to get some for my hubby! they are brilliant. Of course when you are as hot as him why would you need to wear other clothes??
The banter and humorous pants slogans were thoroughly entertaining. I’m glad we get to see more of Alex Waters and Vi in this one as he has progressed into his new role as team Coach. All the other characters are equally entertaining so I cant wait to see what Helena is going to bring us with this series.
Well done Helena. Another simply brilliant read from you
I really enjoyed reading the story of Stevie and Bishop. It was a fun, flirty but also emotional read that definitely will make your heart skip a beat. A slow burn story but so worth it in the end! And of course I always love when favorites pop up in this series 🙂 Can’t wait to read what’s next in store!
Stevie’s life has been turned upside down but her new job as a sports physical therapist keeps her busy. Even when everything seems to be crashing down around her, she is able to find some solace at her brothers apartment but the first night already gives her a first glimpse of her new neighbor and it’s not a good one. They get off on the wrong foot and when Bishop makes the wrong assumptions about her, things really go even more downhill. When Bishop injures himself, Stevie makes him a proposition that he can’t resist. With him not being able to fully integrate himself in his new hockey team, it’s a good distraction but when he finds out she’s the sister of the captain of his team, things really take an interesting turn… The more time they spend together, the more their attraction seems to grow although both are trying to resist each other, they can’t deny that their relationship is changing. But will it be enough for Bishop to break down Stevie’s walls in the process?…
A Favor for a Favor was an excellent read that I couldn’t put down. If I could have skipped work I would have to finish this in one sitting. This book is the second in the All In series but can be completely read as a standalone (I have yet to read book one but it is now on my want to read list!).
This book had so many things going for it but it’s always a good sign when you are hooked right from the very beginning – from the plot, the quality of writing and the amazing characters.
To say that Stevie is having a bad day when we first meet her is an understatement. To top off her bad day, she gets some major attitude from Bishop, a barely clothed, HOT hockey player who’s a complete asshole at their first meeting and who also happens to be her new neighbor. What ensues is a case of mistaken identities and wrong assumptions leading to a really sweet and funny enemies to lovers story.
The frustration and sexual tension between Stevie and Bishop in their initial antagonism is spot on. Once the favors start trading however, I love how they both were completely upfront and direct in admitting their sexual attraction. I mean when you’re helping someone rehab a groin injury, it’s going to get interesting!
Even though Bishop was a complete dick to her when they first met, he’s actually quite a sweetheart – or at least he shows that side of himself to Stevie. I loved how this hardass was really aware of Stevie’s apprehensions and moved at a pace that took into account where she was in her own headspace (not just what his dick wanted).
Stevie was no pushover when it came to dealing with Bishop’s orneriness. She could dish it right back and could hold her own which made them perfect for one another. But I adored how they really grew to become friends and confide in one another.
“What in the actual fuck? How the hell do you manage to attract women with your horrible personality? I really don’t get it. Unless they’re all brain-dead idiots and they duct-tape your mouth shut while they’re riding you.” She tilts her head, as if considering that, and nods once. “That has to be it. I can see how that might be doable.” “What the hell are you talking about?” And did she just fantasize about riding me with my mouth duct-taped shut? Why is that hot?
In A Favor for a Favor you get so much – an enemies to lovers story with a bit of mistaken identity craziness, a tantalizing office romance and overall sweet story of two people falling in love because they just fit. Plus, you get a bit of hockey which is always awesome.
This is such a fantastic book- a big score for Hunting and I highly recommend it.
Thank you to Helena Hunting for the advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.

A Favor for a Favor had me captivated from the first page to the last and is the perfect addition to the All In series!
Helena Hunting has a way of writing characters that you can easily fall in love with, all within storylines that are unique and mixed with just the perfect amount of humor to keep a smile on your face!
Circumstances have thrown Bishop and Stevie in each other’s lives, but is is definitely not a love at first sight kind of relationship between these two. You could feel the tension between them slowly changing through their daily sarcastic exchanges.
When Bishop is injured, Larsen volunteers to help with his rehabilitation and that is when the sizzle starts between them and then the sparks start to fly.
This is a definite must read book! The characters, the banter between them, and the humorous situations will keep you completely engaged and it is a book you won’t want to put down!
This is the second book in the ALL IN series by Helena Hunting. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but in order to get to know all (side) characters, I prefer to read in order.
Stevie is Rook’s little sister, <- his story is book one A LIE FOR A LIE, and is just moving to Seattle. She’s moving into her brothers penthouse apartment, in the middle of the night, having a day from hell and has to deal with the a**hole neighbor. Bishop, the a**hole neighbor - and a teammate from Stevie’s brother - doesn’t believe his eyes when gets woken up by a ruckus in the hallway. His impression about and from his new neighbor is not the best to say at least. Fate has it, that Bishop needs some PT, and Stevie is a PT, and quite handy living across the hall, right?! But what happens when a hot lady touches you constantly near your groin and gives you massages?! Can you keep it all professional?! I had a lot times where I really laughed out loud in this book. I like their banter. Bishop might have been a bit rude in the beginning, but that changes a lot further on. I’d put this book in an enemy to friends to slow burn lovers trope!! I loved it a lot. The slow burn was hot, the first kiss fire! I kindly received an arc from the author / publisher and voluntarily left a review
Do you love a good sports romance? Helena Hunting is becoming my favorite go to for hockey romance. Bishop has a major chip on his shoulder. Not only was he put on an expansion team, but he lost what he thought was HIS position to Rook who in the past has been a nemesis on the ice. There is more to this gruff, antagonistic man than meets the eye but not many people will ever get to see that. His neighbor drives him absolutely batty…until she doesn’t. They make a deal, one that could break them both in the end. Some favors are easily made and fulfilled. Others….will turn into a chance of a lifetime…if only they can see past their own pain and insecurities. Another fabulous, steamy story in the All In series. I need King’s story though…stat!
Diving into A Favor for a Favor, book two in the All In Series which can be enjoyed as a standalone is as always with Hunting’s books, easy-peasy. However, if you read A Lie for a Lie #1 first which just happens to be one of my fave 2019 reads, you’ll get to meet Stevie’s brother, RJ and learn about the NHL team’s camaraderie. Hunting has yet again delivered a laugh-out-loud romance that has me snorting into the middle of the night! So be warned, if you pick the book up late evening, you could possibly cause a disturbance!
“You’re welcome for making sure you weren’t murdered last night.”
“Buy a pair of pants!”
Ooh. My. Gawd! Stevie and Bishop’s impression of each other was not good from the word go. Not surprising either. She’d irritated this bear of a man at daft o’clock and he wasn’t in any mood to cover up. Yep, he loves his sassy underwear! To top the lot, he jumps to conclusions without having the facts and being the cocky guy that he is, rubs her up the wrong way…no pun intended, of course!
‘I don’t know that I hate him, but I definitely don’t like him.’
How could I not fall for Stevie? She’s no pushover and Bishop and I kinda liked this, but their slow-burn friendship isn’t going to be plain sailing. No love lost between Bishop and RJ won’t help matters and as far as physical therapists go in this sport, it’s still a man’s world, so Stevie’s got to prove herself. She’s very, but very good at her job and her first patient is…guess who? I really liked observing how little by little, they began to feel more at home with each other. She’s Bishop’s hope, the woman who will help him get back on the ice. Hmm, now to see if they rock their professional boats or not because all said and done, work ethics have to be complied with.
“You’re being awfully cagey about her if she’s just a friend. Don’t think I can’t tell you’re trying to hide her.”
Bishop is all kinds of grumpy and it took me a while to understand how he ticked. One thing is for sure, he’ll bend over backwards for his younger brother who he feels is his responsibility. Hunting delves into an illness hard to live with, her references accurate and enlightening. But who fell out of favour with me this time around which is weird seeing as I really connected with him in A Lie For A Lie was RJ. He has so much attitude in this book that I could have gladly strangled him!
“You can’t date a hockey player.”
“Are you kidding me?”
Great side players and although Stevie wound me up a tad with a past issue, I got eventually got her drift when it all came back to bite her. I liked the pacing of this light-hearted book with a touch of angst—you’ll see what’s bothering these two loveable characters by reading it, and the banter on all levels is fabulous! The narration from a dual perspective in present worked perfectly in this thoroughly enjoyable enemies-to-friends-to-lovers rom-com with all its amorous obstacles cleverly portrayed. Bravo Hunting!

Stevie Bowman is moving into her brother Rook/RJ’s condo while she starts a new job as a physical therapist. The plan hadn’t been to live in Rook’s penthouse apartment, but arriving a few days earlier than expected uncovered a surprise that changed her living arrangements quickly.
Bishop Winslow lives across the hall and is Rook’s teammate. A serious injury has him sidelined just when he needs to be out on the ice the most. But when Stevie offers to help his PT process and possibly speed his healing in return for only the experience of rehabbing a professional athlete it seems to be a perfect arrangement for both of them.
I loved the games they played across the hall. Both as assertions of their personalities and as they carried an undertone of flirtation, the games ramped up the steam between them even as they both claimed to hate the other.
There is so much back and forth between these two. Every time I thought they were making headway beyond the tenuous friendship they had, one would do something that made me (and the other character) question the true motives. This was a slow burn, for sure. But the tension between them kept things interesting.
I am looking forward to more from this series. The combination of humor and tension is perfect for a fun read. Bishop’s teammate, Ryan, is the “good boy” of the bunch and I loved the perspective he gave throughout this book. His hinted story is sure to be a good one!
All I can say is WOW when it comes to A Favor for a Favor! Stevie and Bishop’s story was amazing from the word go! From their first meeting with Bishop calling Stevie a boner killer due to her having a hell of a bad day to their first therapy appointment I was hooked! Stevie is trying to make it in a new city and a new job without using her brothers fame for her benefit. Bishop is trying to overcome not making captain on his new hockey team without making problems that would make him and his brother need to move from a team transfer. Their chemistry is searing and they are constantly trying to get under one another’s skin before they finally give in to what they both want. I always thinking that the last book I reads hero/heroine are my favorite but Stevie and Bishop just became my newest favorite!
