Great holiday (or anytime) story. A woman needing a family a place to belong. And a man overcoming his past emotions. She reminding him about the love God has for us. Reminding them of their lost Faith
I really enjoyed meeting Myra in this short story. She had an interesting story line with a mystery as to why no one wanted her to marry or leave them and always the comment about losing what she brings in. This is a really good afternoon.
Must.Love.Children
Tired of being bullied by her brother’s wife and treated as unpaid staff (cook, chambermaid, and nanny!), Myra accepts assistance from a matchmaking neighbor, who has her travelling from Charleston to a small town in Wisconsin. Several mysteries are resolved with faith, humor, and warmth, as she discovers not all children are whiny, obnoxious, spoiled, malicious brats.
I loved this book. The characters were very well written. This was a fast, clean, faith filled book. I read it in one night.
I loved this book because it shows you don’t always know what you want. You may think you do but some days you just get it wrong. All things are different when they are your own.
Myra Smithson knows hardship and loss. She has lost both her parents and now is losing her faith in her family. She feels the only way out is the one offered by a neighbor who is also a Matchmaker. Finally she has reached the last straw! Telling her brother however brings about a confrontation and again the words “I won’t lose what you bring to the family each month!” She had heard her mother say them before…..
Reinhold “Holder” Sittig needs a wife. He doesn’t necessarily want one! He lost his wife when his youngest twin daughters were born. He cannot bring himself to look at them. They bring back what he feels is the worst time in his life. The loss of his wife due to their birth and the feelings of failure after he fails to produce a son for his fathers legacy, for the family name to survive. He writes away for a mail order bride to help care for his ailing mother, but fails to mention his 4 children.
Each brings to the marriage a secret and each one also brings the things the other needs in a partner and they quickly become a couple. Myra will learn quickly to love her new children and how to manage her stubborn German Husband.
This book was a beautifully written story about how to learn to love under stressful situations. The characters were beautifully written and the children’s personalities were incredible!
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review. (less)
Myra has enough of being her brother’s unpaid nanny and maid. Holder needs help to take care of his daughters and mother. A matchmaker brings them together but Holder forgot to tell that he’s children. So is Myra’s life going from bad to worse when she meets her intended and his children? Loving the children is easy but can she help her husband to love and being loved?
I really loved this story that kept my entertained till the end. Marisa Masterson is a very talented author that knows how to keep you interested.
This is a very sweet and heartwarming story of loss, death, deception, misunderstandings, harshness, and a HEA. The character development is really good and believable. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.
