In book two of the Michal’s Destiny series, Tavvi and Michal have problems in the beginning of their relationship, but they build a life together. Each stone is laid carefully with love and mutual understanding. They now have a family with two beautiful daughters and a home full of happiness. It is now 1938—Kristallnacht. Blood runs like a river on the streets, shattered glass covers the walkways … walkways of Jewish shop owners, and gangs of Nazi thugs charge though Berlin in a murderous rage. When Tavvi, the strong-willed Jewish carpenter, races outside, without thinking of his own welfare, to save his daughters fiancée, little does his wife Michal know that she might never hold him in her arms again. In an instant, all the stones they laid together come crashing down leaving them with nothing but the hope of finding each other again.

This book was a disappointment. Every character seemed to make their decisions (and then actions) based solely on selfish reasons. Not worth reading.
I already did a review!
I didn’t want it to end
Ending left u hanging, but not in a good way.
While the story in this book was haunting, the writing was terrible. The author repeated in different chapters so it was difficult to see any consistency across the story line.
very humbling.
The series was good
I loved the whole series. When you read her books you are transported to the time and place. You feel what they are feeling. I recommend this series and the Detrick series.
Historical fiction. Good Read!
It was hard at times to read about the situations of these characters, but yet a very interesting account of WWII.
I have an interest in the Holocaust, and this book series follows a family through it
Such a sad commentary on what horrible things happened in this era. Whole families destroyed by the evil Nazzi regime.
I cannot believe that people survived such cruelty and heartbreak with the will to live and go on with their lives. Inspirational for sure!
It was very well written.
good but sad
Hard to read about the terrible things the Nazi’s food to good people during Hitler’s reign of terror
More insight into the Holocaust as only Roberta Kagan can write.
Books recounting the horrors of the holocaust are difficult to read and comprehend. So terrible that human beings are so cruel. The human spirit is remarkable. We can NEVER forget!
Really enjoyed
You need to read the books that precede this one in the series. It is very informative about the fate of a Jewish family during WWII and beyond.
Author does not beat you to death with descriptions of the Nazi’s torture of the Jews and other “undesirables”, but gives you insight into those horrors.
To avoid repeating history, everyone needs to read about the Holocaust.
To much detail about torching Jews and Jehovah’s witnesses, JW’s could of been released if they renounced their faith but did not. The truth was being told but too sad for me to finish book
