Stanley and Richie, two naive teenagers, entered the woods in search of a haunted house. The pair hoped to capture evidence of the supernatural for their classmates. It was supposed to be a fun and simple weekend excursion. Unfortunately, the friendly pair were unaware of the terror lurking in the woodland – a family of savages, a family of violence. Only one of them would emerge from the woods … the woods unscathed, only one would be allowed to join the family in a shocking crime spree…
Jon Athan, author of Mr. Snuff and Butcher Road, brings you an uncompromising vision of provocative horror. Are you willing to join the family?

An explicitly-gory but heart-wrenchingly-sad tale of butchery committed by a bullied, misguided and pathological young teen who desperately desires acceptance, a feeling of empowerment and a sense of belonging.

Probably should be rated lower, but it did hold my interest to see if it was going anywhere (it didn’t), so maybe worth the time to read. It seemed like the author has recently acquired a thesaurus, and wanted to make sure all the unfamiliar arcane words in it were used before they faded away. Also the writing was very stilted. I doubt I’ll be reading any more of his work.
Icky
Didn’t like it. It was a horrible thing that hAppened to a child.
abrupt ending after a fas action read that could have lasted longer
If you are a fan of horror this book is that. It was a little twisted for me but I still found myself wondering if there will be a continuation top the story.
Very violent, but a page turner not for the skittish. Too repetitive. Repeated the word crepitate way too much. That was irritating, After I looked up the word, because I hadn’t ever seen it before, and there are very few words I don’t know, I saw that it meant crackling or rattling, but the author chose to over use this word and it was annoying. Otherwise an dark but entertaining book
Did not like this book did not read it all.
Great airport material. Easy to read, not too deep or complicated. A straightforward horror story.
I liked the book. But it was not as dimensional as it could have been. Just when it was getting really good, it ended. I think if it would have continued, it would’ve been more of a five star book.
Just not a good book. Gross, disjointed
This was a sick, disgusting, depraved book.I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.
Even though this book had warnings, explicit killings, I thoroughly enjoyed the story line.
After the second or third chapter closed book, too dark for me to read
Not enough plot building, characters lacking real development. This story seemed to be more about grotesque and unadulterated killing than story telling. It was like watching a B-rated slasher movie in print… the ending left the main character in an abrupt dead end with no resolution.
I liked nothing about this book and I don’t recommend it. Horrible!!
I couldn’t continue to read this. It was even too bizarre for me and I like these kinds of books.
I enjoyed this book and would like to read a prequel with these characters.
So-so read that is written pretty simplistic with little to no complex situations. Really not enough of an in-depth book to enjoy to if you prefer something to keep you on the edge of your seat.
thought it was more for a teenager. Too young for me.
