A Family Affair is where it all began…Heartache, Betrayal, Forgiveness, Redemption…all wrapped up in the people you will love to love, and those you will love to hate! When Christine Blacksworth’s larger-than-life father is killed on an icy road in Magdalena, New York, a hundred miles from the ‘getaway’ cabin he visited every month, she discovers a secret that threatens everything she’s always … threatens everything she’s always held to be true. Her father has another family which includes a mistress and a daughter.
Determined to uncover the truth behind her father’s secret life, Christine heads to Magdalena, prepared to hate the people who have caused her to question everything she thought she knew about her father. But what she finds is a woman who understands her, a half sister who cherishes her, and a man who could love her if she’ll let him. The longer she’s around them, the more she questions which family is the real one. . .

Loved it! Read another in series and that was great too.
I read this book a couple of years ago, but remember it and that in itself proves its a good book.
Not the usual Navy Seal with no shirt. Still a romance of sorts but more depth to the story.
How could I describe this book without giving the plot away. The only way is that it was a very good read, with several twists and turns but original. The characters were very well written. The author writes with compassion and heartfelt words.
This is my second book by her and I am off and going to write more in this series.
As the first book in a rather long series, I held great hope that this would be an interesting and entertaining read. Nothing is worse than reading the last chapter of a good book and feeling as though the friends that guy have come to know and love are going away forever. However, when a book is a part of a substantial series, there is great …
A new author to me, but I found the story unusual and enjoyed it, so have now bought book 2.
Different story line. Interesting.
This book did not seem as if it would happen in real life. To me me it seemed like the author mixed facts and characters into a strange mix. I did not like the book, this was one book I was happy to see the last page.
I have found that this is a 20 book series, and I intend to read every one. Christine Blacksworth’s father is killed on an icy road in Magdalena, New York, a hundred miles from the ‘getaway’ cabin he visited every month. She discovers a secret that her father has another family which includes a mistress and a daughter.
Christine then heads to …
Like Christine, I never expected to be able to like the secret family she discovered after her “father’s” fatal accident. The story drew me in as Christine was won over by the town and people he comes to know. Secrets abound, but Christine finds her true compass and heart.
Second Chances
At finding some kind of happiness even if it’s from the tragic loss of her dad. Christine had to go to her parents house because her dad was coming home from New York, except this time he didn’t, he died in a car accident. She goes up there after hearing about someone at the reading of her dad’s will and finds she has a half …
Why do authors always ruin a decent story with explicit sex. I don’t want to read about a persons personal sex life. Please leave something to the readers imagination. a good story never tells all.
Suspenseful
It started out with an interesting plot but then devolved into a silly, predictable Harlequin Romance theme. Disappointing.
It was just ok. Glad I didn’t pay for it.
Kind of predictable…but a light, easy read
Bad language, vulgar references. Deleted it after the first few chapters. Books need to come with a rating before purchase.
I found it to be so easy to read that it was a bit lightweight! In all senses it was okay, but just okay. I don’t plan to read the others in the series.
Beach reading kind pf book. Very predictable.
I had a difficult time getting interested in this book. Slow start. It did get better but was just ok
