Heartache. Betrayal. Forgiveness. Redemption… It’s time to head back to Magdalena, New York, and spend a little time with the people we love to love and even a few we love to hate.
Roman Ventori isn’t looking for a wife. He’s had one of those and it ended badly. He’s come back to Magdalena out of duty, not love for the town that drove him away with rumors and judgments.
Angie Sorrento is in …
Angie Sorrento is in Magdalena to do a job, not find a husband. She almost had one of those, until he dumped her days before the wedding.
Roman’s father has health problems and his last wish is to see his son settled with a wife, a child, a second chance at a life that doesn’t include city life and flashy women. There’s only one person in town who can make the impossible happen. Angelo “Pop” Benito, the Godfather of Magdalena, is the wiliest matchmaker in the Catskills and if he sets his mind to it, an old man might see his wish come true.
Oh, and remember Gloria Blacksworth’s notebook, the one filled with enough destruction to bring down Magdalena? Well, it’s causing trouble again, and this time the target is Miriam Desantro… Pop’s going to try to intervene, but he might be too late…

I like all of her books that I have read so far. Her characters are all one happy family like they are real people in real life.
Loved this book!
Very, very good read. Didn’t want it to end.
Great book. Let vex the story.
At first it was hard to follow the characters. At times I had to look back to see who was who. However, once into the book it was hard to put down. I had to find out who the killer was! Total surprise!
I love this series!
Love this series
I loved this book, it was easy reading and a great story line with some interesting twists. I would read it again.
Love thisAuthor
Great read
Held your attention throughout and was a totally enjoyable read.
This is a wonderful story. The characters are great. It is part of a series but can be read independently.
I highly recommend any book by Mary Campisi! This is a wonderful series!
When you’re dealing with love, sometimes you find what you’re not even looking for. Sometimes life just surprises you. Love the town of Magdalena and all the characters who live there. This is turning out to be a wonderful series.
Too many characters to keep track of for me. I had to keep rereading to remember who was who!!
Too many characters with similar names. Got them mixed up.
Had to stop reading at 33%. Way too much repetition in dialogue and action. Nothing moves ahead. So many characters it’s hard to keep the relationships straight. Sorry, Mary, but this one is just not for me.
Hated it
So many characters; very difficult to read.
I have read other books in this series but this one was not as good and some details were convoluted. The mother/lost daughter/estranged sisters story got lost in several chapters by unimportant details and plot twists.
