Miles away from Blackwood Bay, in the deepest depths of the forest, is a bustling community named Wicked Hollow. It’s where I live and where a lot of other fairies live too. Yup, fairies.Cute, right? With the pretty wings and the giggling and the throwing fairy dust around. Gag me. Okay, some fairies fit this stereotype— not me. It might be because of the whole curse thing, but I’ll explain that … explain that later. Right now, I’ve got a dead body on my hands.
Someone killed our mayor. And since I’m an agent for the Fairy World Bureau of Investigations, I kind of have to deal with it as part of the job description. What I didn’t expect to have to deal with is my boss bringing my ex in to the investigation along with his new partner at the FWBI, a guy who I vow to hate on sheer principle— I don’t care how gorgeous he is.
Add in my best friend who owns the local salon, my eccentric grandmother and her doubly eccentric twin sister, and my oldest friend—a vampire cursed to live out the rest of his existence as a bumblebee bat—and you can see this has all the promise of a cozy paranormal story … except it’s a little more complicated than that.
I’m half witch, half wicked, full fairy. Welcome to my world.
A Fairy Situation is the first book in the Wicked Hollow Fairies paranormal cozy mystery series.

I enjoyed A Fairy Situation. It is an interesting book. I liked the characters and the setting of the fairy world was interesting. The mystery had some twists that kept you guessing.
I loved it and didn’t want to put it down. Misty Bane is a new author to me. This is the first book I read of hers but definitely won’t be the last.
Good start to a new series. Well-written and fast-paced, with an interesting cast of characters. I received this book free and chose to make a voluntary, unbiased review.
When the mayor of Wicked Hollow is discovered dead, Jade Honeyblossom and her new partner at FWBI need to figure out what and who killed him. I like this new series and this mystery has a lot of twists that make you think, I know who did it and two pages later you change your mind. It was a good book and I look forward to the next one and to get to know the characters a little better. Thanks Misty for another great series.
I really loved this first book of the series. Jade is a cursed fairy. This means that when she gets emotional her wings turn black. As such she feels like an outsider and in many cases is treated that way. Someone has murdered the mayor of Wicked Hollow and as an agent for the Fairy World Bureau of Investigations, it is her job to find the killer and bring them to justice. Well, not just her job, but the entire bureau’s job. To compound matters, it is nearly Litha, one of the most important celebrations of the fairy year – and the head of the bureau wanted the case to be solved before then. Jade had to work with her partner Puck, her ex Woody and a new guy to the bureau, Ridge to get this case solved and bring the perpetrator to justice. Unfortunately the mayor wasn’t who he seemed to be and the suspect list was long.
This is a new series by Misty but I feel that it will be a hit like her other two series are!
I invite you to come along with me and pick up this book to see what the fairy world is all about. You’ll find that it’s like the human world for they possess the same hopes and dreams we humans have but unfortunately they also have the darker side as well which includes all the bad things humans do including murder!
Misty’s characters in her stories reflect lives we see around us every day both the good and bad of society. I wholeheartedly recommend this book because as with all her books I felt better when I reached its conclusion. If people would only stop to think and try to get along how much better our world would be.
I think a wonderful world awaits those who have not read any of Misty’s books yet. Pick up this book and see what I mean. I think you’ll be just like me for you will began to read her other two series as well for you won’t want to lose that good happy feeling you feel while you’re reading her books!
