Faye and Trevor’s story was flirty, funny and had me wanting more. What started off being just two strangers meeting in a personal ad for a New Year’s weekend of sex and fun; turned into something neither one was expecting to find. There was so much depth to Faye and Trevor’s story I don’t know where to begin.
I would love to see the other great characters in this story get their HEA in a spin-off. I have only read the second book in this series but this might be the best one yet.
Katy has brought us a great sweet and steamy story that you will love with Faye and Trevor’s tale.
Faye has put all her energy into running the family business since her parents died leaving her little room for a life outside work. Now she’s thirty she is realising she needs more in her life then just work so she answers and man’s ad to spend a ‘no-strings romantic weekend’ in Alaska.
The chemistry between Faye and Trevor is electric and off the charts hot. I really enjoyed watching their relationship blossom.
Well done Katy on another great addition to this brilliant series
Faye has been managing her family’s liquor import business since she got her MBA at 22-years-old shortly after her parents were killed in a plane crash. Eight years later she has tripled the size of business but the beautiful young woman has not been able to lose her V-card. This year, thanks to a personal ad, she has decided to combine business and pleasure with a trip to Fairbanks, Alaska during the end of year holidays. She will visit North Pole, Alaska for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, then visit North Star Distillery she wants to acquire in nearby Fairbanks during the workweek, ending with New Year’s three nights of intimacy with Mr. Fairbanks! This trip will change her life forever. A great plot has her meeting the very handsome ‘T’ Christmas Eve, learning Christmas Day that he is Trevor Starling, owner of the distillery, and visiting his place of business the next day. Now that she has for the first time found someone she is attracted to, she no longer wishes to spend time with Mr. Fairbanks. How will she handle this situation? Not well! But still, this book has great dialog, exciting co-incidences, and a HEA
Le sigh. While I’ve fallen in love with all three couples in the series so far, getting to that point has been different every single time. With Faye and Trevor, it was more a slow burn thing, which is ironic considering there’s a part in the book where Trevor wonders if his feelings for Faye are a case of insta-love. I loved getting to know these two and seeing who they were beneath the workaholic business owners that readers first meet. They developed so beautifully as the story progressed, each one having their own set of flaws, yet they have fragile hearts trying to come to terms with their respective situations concerning their siblings. To be honest, I was worried as to how Trevor’s conflict with Cecil, aka Cez, would play out, but Katy Regnery handled it in a way that was realistic yet hopeful, which is exactly what I wished for. Then there’s Faye with her younger sister, Harriet, aka Harry, and I cheered for these sisters as they found their footing in their relationship. Kudos goes to Basil, aka Baz, who is Cez’s twin and the peacemaker slash busybody; I liked how Regnery played matchmaker with him, too. Heck, what didn’t like about this book? From infidelity to indefinitely, the odds are good that A Fairbanks Affair snags five-plus stars.
I adored Faye and Trevor’s story so much! It was sweet, so sexy, and a little bit emotional.
“There’s something about her that’s both sweetly innocent and insanely arousing.”
Faye Findley is facing a solitary Christmas when a lonely hearts ad catches her eye and piques her interest. A busy career woman who has little time for a personal life, she decides to throw caution to the wind and travels to Alaska with a view to giving her virginity to an man she’s never met before. However, her plans start to go awry when she meets a handsome stranger with whom she shares a sizzling connection.
“He is hunting. I’m his prey. And I hope to God he catches me.”
Trevor Starling has been burnt in love and has vowed never to love again. However, his sex life has been pretty barren for the last eight months, so what better way to ring the New Year in than with a beautiful woman that he’s found through his no-strings advert. However, he finds himself blindsided by a chance meeting with an intriguing and stunning woman, who brings his frozen heart back to life.
“When I’m naked before him, he stares up at me, his green eyes dark and liquid, so full of emotion, it makes my heart clench, then soar.”
I just couldn’t put it down this book down! It was such addictive reading. The author packed a lot of emotion into one book. There was adventure, chemistry, tenderness, hurt, and such beautiful joy found in a burgeoning love. Faye was capable and business-focused, but my heart hurt for all she’d been through trying to raise her younger sister and keep the family company going. I really liked Trevor as a hero – he was a take-charge guy but also had a core of vulnerability. Such a wonderful story and I can’t wait to read more in this series.
Faye is looking to lose her virginity. Trevor is looking for a weekend of no strings fun. A personal ad and fate lead these two together before they are meant to!! A fantastic story. Loved every minute of it!!
Wow!!! Another amazing story by Katy. A 5 star page turner that had me reading it in no time.
Trevor is looking for a no strings New Year date. Faye is looking for a no strings attached hookup. A perfect combination of work and pleasure.
I loved this quick insta romance that makes me feel good and sigh. It had all the feels that this author loves to write about. Great characters that are perfectly created. A solid page turning romance. Bottomline line this is a must read.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
I like the differences of the characters in this series. I love that Faye is in charge of all these people and she’s young. She has her head on straight, but it’s exciting how she wants to throw caution to the wind for once and meet up with a stranger for the New Year. I like how not all first impressions are correct, especially about her take on Alaska, and a chance meeting leads her to Trevor, who is charming but guarded. All these series’ characters are hard working in Alaska, but Trevor is a little fancier. He’s a very successful businessman who took the family business and expanded it. I love the eccentricity and simplicity of his family, but there are complications. I love that it helps Faye look at her own family, and in turn makes Trevor take another look at his. It’s said opposites attract, but I don’t think it’s a bad thing to share interests with another. I think it helps a couple grow closer, and it was great they could relate to each other so much.
I loved this story. I was such a sweet story. Faye has been thrown into running a business and has completely forgotten to take time for herself. Trevor has a past where he was burn by his fiancée the night before his wedding and doesn’t want love any more. I enjoyed the banter between these two as they started falling for each other. There was angst, chemistry, forgiveness, and life changes for both characters. Another great story by a great author.
A Fairbanks Affair will capture your heart! I’m so in love with this story, so much that it just might be my favorite one by Katy Regnery yet, and that says a lot for me. I’d give it 7 stars if I could! I love the way Trevor and Faye are perfect for each other: from knowing exactly what the other person needs to hear, or just a simple touch of the hand in support. From start to finish, this book had me smiling, laughing and even shedding a few tears. I absolutely loved it and will revisit their story again soon!
The 3rd book in the Odds-Are-Good Series about ads placed by Hunky Alaskan men. Trevor has had a rough year after finding his fiancee the night before their wedding with his brother and now they are expecting a baby. So He places an ad in the Odds Are Good magazine. He just wants a no strings New Year’s weekend with a beautiful and willing woman to break his self imposed fast since all the drama. Is that too much to ask? What are the chances he would meet an attractive woman in a bar on Christmas eve and his heart which he vowed would never love again melted? How can he be with “Faith” after meeting Faye and the sizzling connection they share?
Faye is tired, of her boring existence, of working all the time, of taking care of her parent’s company since their untimely death, of raising her much younger sister, of being a 30 year virgin! So, totally out of character, she answers an ad in a magazine for a no strings weekend with a tall, dark, and solvent Mr. Fairbanks. She decides to conveniently dispose of her virginity so she can get on with her life. It is becoming an embarrassment. But when she meets an attractive man in a bar on Christmas Eve, all bets are off and odds are, her options change.
This wonderful Christmas story is FANTASTIC!! I couldn’t put it down! The secondary characters were great, and I can’t wait to read more of these wonderful folks!!!
4.5 stars – different premise!
One of the things I enjoy most about Katy Regnery books is that they are different. The storyline is never the same as other books in the same genre. This one is no different.
I enjoyed Faye and Trevor’s banter, their chemistry, and the way they fell in love! Trevor was hurt and betrayed bitterly and he is still reeling from that. Faye is looking to learn what romance is all about. What they find in each other is so much more.
Trevor has more than one misstep in here, but luckily Faye is a patient woman and helps him see the error of his ways.
I really enjoyed all the characters in this one and this was a fun story to read.
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
I loved Trevor and Faye’s story! Trevor (Mr. Fairbanks) has been betrayed by his finance and brother and knows that love will never be for him. He is looking for someone with no strings attached and places an ad to find someone spend the New Year’s with him. Faye is fiercely independent, and since her parents death has raised her younger sister. She hasn’t had time for relationships, but when she comes across Trevor’s ad, she takes a leap and answers the ad. This book is written flawlessly, capturing your heart, it’s sweet, sexy, with the right amount of holiday charm. A definite must read!
I received an arc and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
4.5 Stars
I am just loving the Odds Are Good series by Katy Regnery and A Fairbanks Affair is has become my favorite one in the series – so far! Sweet, steamy, funny, and full of heart, this book was a treat to read!
I just loved both Faye and Trevor right from the start. Faye is smart, successful, self-assured, and confident – at least when it comes to business, but since she’s had to step up and run the family business there’s been no time for love, or relationships, or any type of romantic involvement. I love her pragmatism and her ability to reduce things to their simplest forms, being straight-forward about things and, at least when it came to Trevor, not being afraid to put herself out there and be honest with him. Trevor is still reeling from the betrayal of his brother and fiancé, and Faye is just what he needed to get him past the hurt and on the path to forgiveness – which is what he needed to move forward in his own life. I loved how they both supported each other and kept things real, were as quick with an apology as they were with the words the caused some of their arguments/misunderstandings, and just how sweet they both were with each other.
Although this story mostly features Faye and Trevor, the supporting characters of Harriet, Faye’s sister, and all of Trevor’s family add so much to the story and help shape both Faye and Trevor. Watching Faye connect with Harry in a new way and seeing the family dynamics play out with Trevor’s family – including having to deal with his brother and his ex-fiance’s betrayal – were perfectly woven into Faye and Trevor’s story. Even though there were a few bumps for these two, the angst level was fairly low – these two quickly worked out any issues and, once they decided on a path, they were both quick to act or ask for more information from each other if there was any uncertainty.
Another wonderful read from Katy Regnery that warms the heart and is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. The perfect holiday – or anytime – read!
I received an advance reader copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
No surprise at all another fantastic read by Katy Regnery! My kindle was overheated from this read I love all of her books!!!
A Fairbanks Affair is really entertaining with heat, anticipation, banter, and great characters. Faye is a successful businesswoman who has focused on work and running the company to the exclusion of everything else. Seeing a wanted ad for a New Year’s affair gets her thinking about what she might be missing out on. Trevor loves his job running a successful craft vodka company and is close to his family. Trevor was betrayed by his now ex-fiancee and brother, so the last thing he wants is love or commitment. Faye and Trevor immediately hit it off and the sparks fly. They just get each other and have a lot in common. Katy Regnery provided a sweet, sexy, and engaging story and I can’t wait for more from this series of standalones.
4.5 stars
I love these Alaskan men and their ads. Trevor’s road to happiness is bumpy and I love every bit of this story.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good dialogues
Characters is developed in to realistic personalities. They have flaws but also good sides.
There’s sizzling chemistry between Trevor and Faye and a sweet love story building up to the end.
The secondary characters is intriguing and I hope for a novella about Harry.
If you like a easy to read and without so much drama but still a engaging, emotional story I recommend this 5 stars story
I thought A Fairbanks Affair was the best of the series so far. I absolutely loved Trevor and Faye. They were well rounded characters who had to face confusing feelings about family and life. I also enjoyed the plot, the waiting for the moment they realized what was really going on. After that moment, there was a twist that I didn’t expect, and I liked how that played out. I appreciated Trevor and Faye’s loyalty and honesty and ability to forgive. There was a lot of emotion packed into this book, and I highly recommend it!
A Fairbanks Affair was a beautifully written romance between two hardworking, slightly damaged 30-somethings whose instant attraction felt neither forced nor contrived.
While Trevor has kept his feelings locked down since the betrayal of those closest to him months earlier, Faye hasn’t allowed herself to do anything other than work and “raise” her much younger sister since the death of their parents. While she has given Harriet an education and a house to come home to, theirs is not the bond of close sisters.
My favorite thing about Trevor and Faye’s relationship is the lack of back and forth angst that is a part of so many contemporary romance books. A misunderstanding, a few angry words and that it…no drawn out drama, no third party involvement. They grow as individuals as much as they grow as a couple.
I’m always hesitant to jump into a series without having read the previous books first, but each book is a complete standalone read. I dove right in and didn’t come up for air until the last page was read! I highly recommend it!
*4,5-5 stars*
A feel good story where you can’t help but fall in love with the characters but it also has a much deeper feel to it that will definitely pull on your heartstrings. I’m really enjoying this series!
Faye has been busy with business and hasn’t had much of a life outside of it since her parents have died. When she responds to an add, she finds herself in Alaska where she tries to live a little and let go. Who knows what she might find next… When she first meets Trevor, sparks fly between them but both have a lot of things on their mind and the night ends there. But life has a mind of its own and the more time they spend with each other, the more their connection seems to deepen. But there’s one thing that stands in between them and when it comes to light, they’ll both have to decide whether or not their growing relationship is worth taking a risk… especially after everything that both have been through in the past. Will their story end in a happy ending?…
