This was such a cute and good read, I instantly loved Faye because she was a hard worker devoted to the company her father and grandfather started up, she knows exactly what she is talking about, has taken care of her sister, and yet she has put herself on the back burner for so long she doesn’t do things for herself. So, she heads to Alaska not only to find herself and maybe let loose a little but also work takes her there. Trevor is also a hard worker that has built a great company but he has burned by those he trusted and were family so he isn’t looking for any kind of relationship but fate has other plans for these two and throws some wrenches in their plans. These two have an instant attraction but they aren’t sure if they should react on it or just let things happen. I loved the chemistry these two had, I loved that Faye helped Trevor see that sometimes forgiveness is what is best to help us move on with life, and I loved that Faye found a relationship with her sister that was long overdue. I really hope we get a book for Harry and Baz.
4.5 stars
Faye Finley is in Fairbanks hoping to purchase a craft vodka distillery. Her life has been so focused on work that she has never found time for relationships. She decides the trip is also the perfect time for some fun like she’s never had time to experience via a personal ad in the Odds Are Good magazine she finds at the dentist’s office. Now though the trip is mostly for business, she has some pleasure planned as well when she meets “Mr. Fairbanks” for New Years.
Trevor Starling runs his distillery with his brothers, but is not speaking to one of the twins. Heartbroken, Trevor has closed himself off from his family when his relationship with his fiance crumbled. His ad in Odds Are Good was intended to find him a no-strings attached distraction for New Years, and the plans he has made have him looking forward to something for the first time in almost a year.
These two may have planned to meet under aliases at New Years, but their meeting occurs a week earlier under their real names. As Trevor and Faye spend time together, learning about each other, they realize they can’t go through with their New Years plans with a stranger when there is something developing between them.
I loved watching as Faye and Trevor get to know each other. Both have issues to deal with emotionally. Faye has always been a workaholic, to the detriment of her relationship with her little sister. For the first time, Faye sees just how impersonal her interactions with Harry (Harriet) really are. Trevor is still harboring the hurt from the betrayal of his fiance and brother, and though they are desperate to make amends, his hurt is still fresh.
Once again, the side characters in this series make each installment perfect. I loved Brandy’s influence, as well as both Faye and Trevor’s families. There is more than just a single relationship building throughout this story, and it is the relationships between the main characters and their families that really make this story special.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
I really liked this book and the characters, although the H tended toward a double standard in relationships at times.
While I liked the plot of this book and it’s characters, I felt this book needed another pass through the editor.
This is an excellent book. You know where it is going, but you can’t guess how it is going to get there. There are twists and turns that make it really interesting. I totally enjoyed reading it.
A FAIRBANKS AFFAIR – Katy Regnery – I LOVED this story. Our heroine is 30, CEO of a company she inherited from her father along with her younger sister. In the 3 years she has company she has surpassed what her father did. She has been driven and focused. She has not had time for dates and men. Now she finds herself at 30 with no sex experience and she plans to put an end to that problem. She answers an ad in a high class magazine by Mr. Fairbanks wanting a date for New Year’s. He pays all the expenses at a very swanky hotel. Lots of fun but NO LOVE. This is just what she is looking for. No names are shared. They agree to a deal but she will pay her own airfare. She arrives in North Pole, Alaska to conduct some business and will then fly to Fairbanks. That evening she meets a gentleman in the bar and strikes up a conversation. They have a lot in common and they have chemistry. She is very attracted to him. Now she has 2 men to pick from. What to do?
This story was great, has a great ending and was a fun read. I definitely recommend it.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 11/16/2020
Alway enjoy Katy Regnery’s books!
This feel-good romance was just what I needed right now. Tons of chemistry, low-angst, engaging characters. What makes this a five-star book for me is the theme of mending family rifts and the connection between siblings.
Disappointing
Two stars for effort. The soppiest book Ms Regnery has published to date. Juvenile characters and not much to laugh, or cry about.
Overall enjoyable book. Faye Finley runs the largest liquor distributors in the US, and while she is a successful businesswoman, her love life is decidedly less so. At 30, she is tired of being a virgin and answers a personal ad in a magazine that specializes in personals for Alaskan men. She and “Mr. Fairbanks” are going to meet up on New Years for a no-strings fling. Trevor Starling has had a rough six months. He was engaged to be married when he caught his younger brother and his fiancée in flagrante delicto on the night before his wedding. While he doesn’t want a relationship, he is looking for something physical and places an ad in the Odds-are-Good magazine. Overall enjoyable romancée. I did have some problems with the traitorous younger brother subplot.
SPOILERISH ALERT
Cecil, Started having sex with his brother’s fiancée two months before the wedding. The fiancée doesn’t say “Hey, I am not in love with you, we need to break things off.” Instead, she keeps planning the wedding, spending Trevor’s money and having sex with her fiancé’s brother. Now Cecil doesn’t say to the fiancée“while I love you, I cannot be with you while you are engaged to my brother,” he just schtup’s away. Then, after everything comes to light, his family expects him to just get over it. The family doesn’t seem to understand why he wouldn’t want to be around Cecil and his ex, especially now that they are pregnant. Additionally, both of the cheaters seem to imply that it was his fault they didn’t tell him that they had fallen in love. He was older, he was successful, so that apparently made them incapable of speech, responsibility and basic human decency.
I don’t know how it happened, but some of katy Regnery’s books got lost on my kindle. I was thrilled to come across one of her books that I hadn’t read (hangs head in shame) and then to find out I have more to catch up on WAHOO!!!!!!
There is a lot to love about A Fairbanks Affair. Trevor is hunky!!! He has a broken heart just waiting to be healed. Trevor helps teach us that there is forgiveness, hope, and happiness.
Faye is just the gal to help Trevor see the northern lights. She has been hiding behind a desk and is ready to shine. All it takes is answering a personal ad and heading to Fairbanks, Alaska.
Trevor and Faye were made for each other. The chemistry overflows. The relationship has a lot of shock and awe. Definitely should have read it before now.
I absolutely love this book. Trevor and Faye are absolutely perfect for each other. Trevor & Faye weren’t expecting each other but they are so glad that they have meet. Another amazing read and amazing characters that I didn’t want to put down.
An excellent Christmas read!
It is the story of Trevor, an Alaskan single man who owns his own vodka company, and Faye, a woman who has taken the reins of the family business following the death of her parents. Faye flies to Alaska over the Christmas break for work-related business and personal reasons. On Christmas Eve, Faye meets Trevor at a local Chinese restaurant and, although there is a spark of chemistry, their meeting is rocky and seems doomed.
The author has written an entertaining novel, with well-defined characters and a strong plot. As both Faye and Trevor navigate their familial relationships with siblings, as well as the predicaments each finds themselves, the reader becomes more invested in the outcome. Faye and Trevor find their HEA ending and the reader is left with a smile when the author typed THE END.
I love fun, sweet love stories and that is what Katy gives with A Fairbanks Affair.
This adorable story takes us back to Alaska with two people that have no desire to have permanence in their lives. Both are successful and they become that way by being workaholics. Trevor wants to release something and so he places an ad, Fay wants to lose something and so she answers the ad.
What happens after that is a funny, spontaneous, humorous case of mistaken identity, which grows into a story of passion, finding love and forgiveness. The characters were adults and behaved as so. There were a few moments of tenseness but don’t all relationships have that at one time or another.
I am looking forward to the next book in this series!
Great job and definitely 5 stars.
I am loving this series so much. Each book is so different from the last, yet they are all such great, sweet reads. I love the whole premise of each couple meeting through classified ads in a paper. But I really liked the idea of this one the most.
Faye had such an interesting, although slightly sad story and I enjoyed what a unique character she was. I could really relate to her as a person. She was struggling with the life she was dealt without being upset about it other than the distance it has caused between her and her sister.
Travis had every right to be bitter about life. And I completely understood why he placed the ad in the first place. And honestly I loved that despite everything he was still such a genuine, nice person. Watching him open up and fall for Faye was beautiful.
These two completely complimented each other and I loved their initial meeting and reactions to each other. The book was such a perfect read for a lazy Sunday and I can’t wait for the next edition of the odds are good.
I am so much in love with these wonderful characters that Katy has dreamed up for us in this series !Faye and Trevor are smart, sassy, have a wonderful connection and once they get to know one another are sizzling! Faye is a young business woman that has not taken time for herself or romance . T is a jilted man that has his share of heartbreak. A chance meeting in a restaurant bar, an immediate connection and then so many reservations and hurdles to overcome !I truly loved watching their story unfold and was pulled into their world. I so enjoyed watching them each learn more about themselves and one another !

A FAIRBANKS AFFAIR is the 3rd book in the Odds-Are-Good Series. Each book is a standalone romance. The stories are centered around single men in Alaska & their ads placed in An Odds-Are-Good magazine, seeking single women. This book is about a successful distillery owner named Trevor Starling. He was left betrayed and broken hearted when his brother and fiancee had sex the night before Trevor’s wedding. He wasn’t looking forward to an upcoming lonely New Year’s celebration. So he places an ad in the The Odds Are Good, seeking a woman that was also up to a no-strings attached weekend of sex:
A FAIRBANKS AFFAIR
Tall, dark & single. 31. Clean, safe, and solvent. Seeking a discreet holiday companion for an intimate New Year’s weekend. Three nights. Two of us. One hotel room. Zero chance of love. All expenses paid for the chosen candidate. Please include photo with reply.
Faye Findley’s dating life since taking over Findley Imports as CEO & president has been negligible. So when sitting in her dentist office waiting room, she finds herself picking up a copy of a publication called The Odds-Are-Good, with the tagline that reads, “The goods are odd, but the odds are good!” She quickly gathers that it is a publication for Alaskan men seeking all manner of company from women of the lower Forty-Eight. Her eyes find Trevor’s Ad. It sounded like just what her 30 year old virgin body & heart would enjoy. She sticks the magazine into her huge purse. And Fairbanks just happens to have a distillery named North Star Distillery that her company is interested in acquiring. Also her chatty dentist tells her about a town in Alaska called North Pole, located close to Fairbanks. Fate makes this seem like a perfect idea. Fate will play an important part in this saga, but nothing like her or Trevor saw coming. Call it fast. Call it insta-love. It just happens sometimes. Little did they know how much that ad would change both their lives forever after.
I love this series!
Fairbanks Affair is the third stand-alone but inter-connected by locale-Alaska.
Each book begins with a personal ad in The Odds Are Good newspaper.
This one is about Trevor and Faye. Two very career driven a people that have no time for love or complications..or do they?
Humorous, heartwarming and a perfect read for this holiday season.

This was a great book!!
Faye is the CEO of her father’s/families business after an accident. She has never really experienced life because of this. When she answers an ad for a companion over New Years, she never expected the outcome she got.
Trevor is the owner of North Star distillery in Alaska. He has been hurt in the past and isn’t looking for anything but a good time. When he meets Faye all of that changes. Will he be able to overcome the hurt of his past to see what is right in front of him.
Trevor and Faye had great chemistry from the get-go. However, will these to workaholics be able to overcome all they have been through and their everyday lives to find a future.
Oh I simply LOVED this story!!! One thing I am always certain of; & that it that Katy Regnery can ALWAYS get me out of a book funk! She has a special knack with words the the way she writes that is just perfect in my eyes.
A Fairbanks Affair was simply brilliant and my favourite story in this series so far (although I’ve loved them all). Faye Findley & Trevor Starling could not be more perfect for one another! They connect on another level, not just with their physical attraction but also with their minds, their independence, their businesses, their pasts…. their attraction is real and through meeting each other they start to lear more about themselves too.
I loved these characters; but also the secondary characters were fantastic. And I’d love to see more from Faye’s sister in the future!!!
Another must-read from one of my favourite comfort read authors!
