I loved this book!
This was a great story of a part of history that could actually be true to a certain extent. I loved the characters and how they evolved with each other as well as the country depicted in the story. Very well written as a possible accounting of a historical event and times.
The title is very misleading. I thought Regency but no it’s more than a hundred years before that. It takes place when my ancestors were arriving at Virginia, during the time of the Restoration. It’s another Chase book, gods save you, and it’s just as awful as the one with Amethyst. Kendra is bloody awful. Trick is okay, but doesn’t make up for her level of sheer stupid. The sex saves it from being a one star. Pearls and manacles oh my, nice and hot. But I’d say give it a pass.
This story of misunderstandings touches the heart. Many adventures later the newly wed couple finally get it right. King Charles is the villain of this tale.. I had read several of the Chase family books and look forward to brother Ford’s story.
So many story threads to weave together and yet it was done artfully and captivatingly. From the get-go there is tension as the main characters are drawn inexorably together. It’s difficult to build the life together when secrets stand between you and loyalties pull you in too many directions. This was a great book and when all the weaving was done, I was exhausted but happy.
A fun read by a relyable author.
Agree, steamy. Believably. Raunchy. Fun characters.
Loved this book. Really loved this whole series, but this one was GOOD!
Good reading but like so many historical romances it ran along the same vein of girl
meets guy, things happen and then they are lovey dovey again.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the characters and the progression of the story! I would read this author again and will look for her books!
A thrilling forth in series
This is a thrilling forth book in a brilliant series. The plot is full of emotional twists and turns, as well as plenty of suspense. The characters are crafted wonderfully with lots of strength and determination, to overcome their obstacles. This is a great book that would suit all those who love steamy historical romances that have lots of intrigue.
enjoyable afternoon read
After reading other books by this same author I have to say this one was very disappointing.
A fun book to read
Loved the book and all of her sisters’ books as well.
I loved the story. It was very well written, but it was too steamy for me, I skipped parts that were a bit too much for me. I do love the Sweet and Clean versions that Devon and Lauren Royal write together. I like that I can get online and see the family tree of the characters in the stories.
I enjoyed reading this book. All of her books are good.
Great Book
