2018 RITA® Award FinalistCocky, young Aussie bull rider Troy Jensen has been busted down to the pro-circuit. He needs wins and points to get him back into the big league and a shot at being crowned champ but an injury forces him off the circuit and into the arms of the woman fate keeps putting in his path. The first time local Doc Joss Garrity meets Troy, she’s brandishing a lug wrench. The second … brandishing a lug wrench. The second time, he’s dragging her delinquent teen son home. The third time, he’s in her ER. How he ends up convalescing at her house she’s not quite sure. But it does make it hard to ignore him and their simmering attraction.
As Troy gets to know Joss, he starts to see a life after bull riding for the first time. But can Joss risk her heart on another man who may not come home one day?

You have to allow the fates in their meeting … and I can relate to pnuematically tightened tire nuts on snowy roads cause it has happened to me. (I am strong; and now mandate they back em off). Then yo have to allow them again for the next incident … and then again. grins.
Ok, having done all the allowing, I agree with others there is some issues with her maturity and being a full doctor of a 15 yr old. But, I do like him a whole lot and I like how the story progressed and ended.
Loved this book! Troy was a to-die-for hero! I loved how he was with Joss and I thought his relationship with her son was great. Joss was a great heroine who was both strong and vulnerable. This was a wonderful book!
Steamy, sexy, loved it!
Alluring story of unwavering love!
I enjoyed watching these characters grow into better versions of themselves and find each other fully and completely.
My first Tule cowboy book and I absolutely loved it!
I really enjoyed it
A Doctor For The Cowboy is a fantastic contemporary western romance by Amy Andrews. Ms. Andrews has given readers a well-written book populated with characters you can’t help but love. Joss is a widow, raising her son and living with her father-in-law. He work as an ER doctor keeps her busy. Troy is a rodeo legend bull rider and meets Joss when he stops to help her with her flat tire. Joss and Troy’s story is loaded with drama, humor, spice and a touch of suspense. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover and look forward to my next book by Amy Andrews. A Doctor For The Cowboy is book 4 of the American Extreme Bull Riders Tour Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
Really cute story! Characters that learned the importance of compromise.
An enjoyable read and one that has made me look for more by this author. A nice mix of joy and angst.
An absolutely stunning read with well written characters you’re sure to love. Professional bull rider Troy Jensen finds a feisty Jocelyn(Joss) Garrity during his travels when he stops in the middle of the night to help her change her tire. Joss is several years older than Troy but she feels an attraction to the cowboy who helps her out. You won’t want to put this book down!
Joss and her son and cowboy Troy come across a real people, with human foibles and insecurities, but folks you’d want to know. A great read as they find their way to each other and to understanding themselves better.
Troy was a bull rider from Australia but came to the US and was a legend!! He had a terrible childhood but pulled himself up and made something of himself. He met Joss three times… the third time’s charm!!! Joss is a widow with a very angry 15 year old. Her husband was killed when her son was 10 and be was causing lots of trouble so they moved across the country to live with her father in law. Joss meets Troy and they start spending time together cause Joss is an ER doctor and that’s how they meet the third time. She became his doctor. A standalone with a HEA!! Great story!!!!
Would have preferred a little more story and a little less “fill in sex”. Writing was good. She is a widow and an ER doctor with a 15 yr old son who is resentful that his dad was killed in a car accident. She lives with her father in law as she had to get out of Chicago bc her son was getting into trouble. Coming home late one night she gets a flat but is unable to remove the bolts. He stops to help her. He is 27 and she is 34. They are attracted to each other but she dismisses it. Awhile later he winds up in her ER as he is a bull rider and has dislocated his shoulder. She brings him home to force him to heal.
I love a good cowboy story this was one that I enjoyed
Came across this the other day and it is just as good the second time around. So many books aren’t worth the first read but this one is good for two.
Loved it a good read.
Delightful read. This great tale is a departure from the average, “I fell in love with a bullrider”, romance. For once the bull rider is a genuine and thoughtful adult, who knows what and who he wants and does not need to be hit over the head with the obvious.
This story about Joss and the wonder from down under. He’s a bull rider and she’s a doctor. It’s very interesting and she was not his usual buckle bunny. However what threw me off was the constant talk of sex and the acting of it. Sex doesn’t necessarily equate to love. I wished for more of them than just sexual chemistry. Good story but I was wish we were given a epilogue.
I loved this story!!!!
