Loved, loved loved this series!
I especially loved the strength of the women.
Had a hard time putting it down. I found the whole series was real page-turners. I read the first book when it first came out and hated having to wait for the next book in the series.
Absolutely riveting, I could not put this book down! The characters are very mysterious but interesting. I went through the series with many a book hang over!
The novel was just ho-hum. Lots of hype that the book didn’t live up to.
It was a little too heavy on theories and such. I just skipped over the debates and read the rest.
I know I may be late in recommending this book, but WOW! This one will not let you down. I couldn’t put it down.
I didn’t like the male dominated tone of the vampire.
SO NOT WATCH THE TV SERIES – DESTROYED THESE BOOKS.
I’m not even sure what category to put this in with. All I kept thinking while reading this was Twilight. Another vampire and human love story. Although this time the human is a witch. It was entertaining enough but can get a little confusing. There’s the attraction between the vampire and witch. The vampire’s family is obviously very old and there is the resentment that follows when finding out the hot available vampire is totally in love with someone not of his kind. Apparently it’s against all codes for them to be together plus tack that onto a forbidden book that the witch accidentally discovered and all other vampires and such are after them. It’s entertaining but definitely a grown up version of Twilight.
The first book in the series is well written and a good read, the rest not so much.
the writing is good, the story line starts out well, but gets a bit tangled.
The book started out really well, and then I spent two-thirds of the novel waiting for Diana to start kicking butt….and it never happened. Frankly, I preferred the TV series (which I’ve rewatched twice now). It’s not that the TV version is any different from the book, but I liked how the heroine was portrayed better.
Be aware that this is the first book in a trilogy and ends in a cliffhanger. Read them back to back and they we awesome!
Love fantasy. Have read the series three times. Have Season One on dvd and can’t wait for Season Two.
Love this book and the author. For those of you that liked the Twilight series, you will love these books.
Read this debut novel by Harkness shortly after it came out and absolutely loved it! She is so gifted as a writer, as evidenced all these years later, with the conclusion of her trilogy and the success she has so well-deservedly earned.
I would definitely recommend this novel to anyone!
Had to go back to the earlier books to follow the story line, but an enjoyable trip.
Very fun read!!
I have read this series several times. This has what it takes to make even the occasional reader want more.
