This book had a good storyline with great characters that had me totally enthralled until the very end!
This was my first read in this series, so I didn’t have all the background or history of the characters, but it still worked as a stand-alone story. Poor Pearla. Jilted at the altar, she flees London aboard a ship, only to be held prisoner. Then, she is joined by the brother of the woman who halted her nuptials. Needless to say, Pearla is not enamored of Daman after what she has suffered. This is an interesting, emotional, sometimes humorous, and dramatic story with adventure on the high seas. This is a delightful historical romance, with heroes, villains, and plenty of twists and surprises. I really liked the characters of Pearla and Damian, especially Damian’s perseverance in the face of Pearla’s resistance. Great romance story.

A well written historical romance where the author has made a great research and made the story true to its time period. Nice storyline and plot. Likeable characters who are well described and develops nicely through the story.
She is ditched by the alter and a big scandal comes out of it. She leaves to London to get away and here she meets a man that has her heart. But can she tear her walls around her heart down and be volunerable? Can she trust him?
Captivating, fun, enjoyable read with twists and emotions that keeps the reader on the edge.

” A Discarded Pearl (A Marsden Romance Book 5)“ by Dawn Brower is a tale of one Pearla Montgomery whose wedding was crashes by her intended’s “dead” wife…thereby setting Pearla’s feet on a whole new path…straight to the arms of the aforementioned “dead” wife’s brother..one Damian, Conte Leone…what a tangled but ever so delightful weave! This installment of Dawn Brower’s Marsden Romance series…is perhaps the best one yet…as if the others in the series were all read in order…neatly ties up all the other tales…as well as this one….I have thought enjoyed every one of these stories…and would Highly Recommend this series to anyone wishing a bookfest of Regency delights.

This is dramatic and entertaining. Damien and Pearla end up locked in a cabin together when Pearla runs brokenhearted from her cancelled wedding. While in there they try to figure out how to escape, and gradually develop feelings for the other. The dramatic and suspenseful journey they take together is romantic and engaging, a perfect way to wrap up a wonderful series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this sexy story with great, romance and intrigue. On her wedding day her finances wife reappeared from being presumed dead. She fled in shame and went on a boat to get away. However, things were much different from what she expected. There was a lot of intrigue, but the ending was great. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy from Booksprout.
I really am enjoying the new “Marsden” stories from Dawn Brower. They are very captivating quick reads with some great characters. Although not my favorite this one is no exception. I really liked how this story developed. Of course I loved the characters! Damian really treasured Pearla! Wonderful chemistry, tenderness and passion!
Pearla and Damien meet under less than ideal circumstances. Pearla is nursing a broken heart, and Damien is, well, just broken. As they start to develop feelings for each other, Damien is ripped away from Pearla. Will they never find their happily ever after?
While I would have enjoyed more banter between the hero and heroine, the story does move along. I did feel like the enemy was a bit of an afterthought and wasn’t really necessary for the movement of the plot.. Since there is a series of books that have an overarching story, perhaps that is why. Never fear, you do not have to read the other stories to enjoy this one, though you will have a better understanding of why they are thrown together if you read the previous book, “AHidden Ruby” The ending was satisfying. Overall, an enjoyable story.

Great unique characters, storyline and you will be at the edge of your seat so engrossed in the twist that was both interesting and well thought out.
This is an enjoyable read. Drama, emotional turmoil, action and adventure are skillfully blended into an engaging story that holds your attention. Pearla and Damian had good chemistry and I found their interactions fun and entertaining.
Damian is so sweet, so perfect for Pearla!
A botched wedding was merely the first step to the right romance for Pearla. When she was jilted by Noah as he reconciled with his wife, Ruby, Pearla just about gave up on ever finding her HEA. She certainly didn’t expect it to come in the form of Ruby’s brother, Damian.
Damian’s determination to win the gun-shy Pearla was sweet and sexy and oh-so-swoonworthy! Theirs was the perfect romance with which to end this remarkable series. The writing is captivating right from the start, and this book was a non-stop read for me. These are characters that will stay in your heart long after the book is done. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
