I received this book free and i am voluntarily doing a review. I loved the plot and the way the characters were brought together.
This book is about Prince Raj who is at college and he falls for Pruya. Things happen and Raj asks Pruya to marry him but before he can ask her father for her hand, he has to go back home for a family emergency. He finds out that his brother who was supposed to be the crowned prince has died and Raj is the one who will be crowned. When he sees Pruya she does not look the same as she did the last time he saw her. Raj talks to his parents and tells them he does not want to be the crowned prince and that he wants to marry Pruya.
Will Raj and Pruya get their HEA, or will his parents reject his request?
I received an ARC and I am leaving my voluntarily and honest review.
This book was good just not what I expected. It was filled with hot, steamy erotic scenes which was a plus for me. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I’m glad I took a chance. This book told the story of Prince Raj and Priya’s brief courtship and night of their wedding.
Audible. Also available via KU.
A Desi Got Me is a 90 minute short story. Raj is Indian royalty studying at University when his brother dies catapulting him into becoming the crown prince. He is in love with a commoner, Priya, and fears his elevation in status will destroy their ability to marry. This is absolutely erotica, there are multiple sex scenes and they are graphic. While definitely insta-love Raj and Priya are a sweet couple.
I think the biggest stumbling blocks for me were: a. the fact that some parts are told in flashback or referenced as past events AND b. that 90% of this is from Raj’s POV, but randomly a sentence or even paragraph with be from Priya’s POV. Both meant I spent too much time having to re-listen or stop and figure out what was going on. The comprehensive description of the horses breeding was peculiar and unnerving.
While David George has an incredibly sexy voice/accent ~ he wasn’t always consistent in differentiating Raj & Priya which also muddied trying to connect with the story. Their whispers (sex scenes) were identical.
I still give this 3 stars ~ a quick erotic listen for less than the cost of a credit.

Wishing on a star, sometimes comes true. Raj is a crowned prince and looking for his princess. Priya is realistic and knows that wishes do not come true. She is not a dreamer, but yet she desires a certain prince. Battling family loyalty, Raj and Priya get together and heat these pages up. I liked Priya’s realistic views on life. It gave her more depth than just any princess. I could relate to her self doubt. I have always loved fairytales, and this one was just as enjoyable.
David George narrated this very well. I enjoyed hearing the story from Raj’s point of view. David was able to narrate Priya as I imagined her. His female voice was smooth and easy to listen to. This was my first listen to David George and I look forward to hearing more from him.
