A Debt Repaid is the follow up to the exciting Dark Billionaire Alpha Male Romance novel A Debt Owed by New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author Clarissa Wild. This is book 2 of The Debt Duet and the final instalment.
WARNING: This book includes scenes that may be disturbing to some readers.more
A Debt Repaid by Clarissa Wild is a dark billionaire romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. This is the second but in The Debt Duet series.
This book does come with a warning “This book includes scenes that may be disturbing to some readers.”
This is the second book of Clarissa’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I really enjoyed the relationship between Charlotte and Easton. It was messed up but you couldn’t help but root for them. Clarissa did a great job wrapping up the series.
Kai and Wen did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life.
I would recommend this series if you like dark romances, billionaire romances, or contemporary romances.
Perfect! This second book could not have been any better and the ending is exactly what I hoped for. A fantastic duet by both the writing and narration!
This is book 2 of a duet. This is a dark romance and it is bad. The continuing stride between Easton and Charlotte is on. Pushing and pulling makes this book a joy to read. It is full of turns and twists and heartbreaking moments. I loved it. I highly recommend this book
Ratings – narration 5, story 3.75
This book carried straight on from the end of A Debt Owed, which much be read first.
Charlotte has escaped Easton’s clutches but is alone and homeless without any money, when she meets the gorgeous Deion and his daughter Ashanti who offer her food and shelter. She’s a feisty, strong character, determined to stay hidden but she does make some basic mistakes that lead to her discovery, but by someone else with sinister intentions.
Deion was such a lovely guy, selfless, sweet and kind. I was hoping his caring attitude that helped Charlotte whilst wanting nothing in return and the way she reacted to him and Ashanti, might prompt Easton to realise he needed to do a bit of that to win Charlotte over. But no, Easton remained stubborn for so long, even though he kept thinking it. I wanted to shake him! I could see his good side trying to get out but his hatred of her father and quest for revenge was stronger than his love for Charlotte, until someone quite unexpected pointed out what he needed to do. Amen for that lightbulb love moment I was hoping for.
Tbh Easton is an a-hole and probably always will be, but I did warm to him by the end. Have to say I’d still pick Deion despite Eastons alluring dominant side!
I did enjoy this story, despite my frustrations with Easton. The narration of the audio book was outstanding. I loved the dual pov and the fact the narrators interacted in each chapter. There was dark suspense, a twisted conclusion, heat, chemistry and a slow burn enemies to lovers story. The narrators highlighted all the emotions brilliantly and I look forward to listening to them again and reading more of Clarissa Wild
This review will be somewhat of a spoiler if you haven’t read A Debt Owed. So go read that now!
After reading book one in this duet, I was so pumped and ready to dive into this book. I started and finished this book in one day because I was completely obsessed! After every twist and turn in book one, I had no idea what was coming at me in this book and I loved it! Clarissa will definitely keep you on your toes with this duet. One second I wanted to kiss Easton and the other I wanted to kick his butt for Charlotte. Just when things get good they will implode making you wonder if there will ever be an HEA. And I promise you there is so hold on for dear life and enjoy the ride because it is all worth it when these two finally succumb to one another.
When Charlotte finally escaped Easton it completely tore me apart because I wanted so badly for this pair to work out their issues. But I think it was the best thing that could possibly happen for this couple. Easton can’t live without Charlotte and his old and caring self comes back and will make you swoon when he shows his worry for her. And Charlotte sees past Easton’s hateful demeanor when he shows his true colors. Don’t worry they are still an explosive and a fiery duo, but this book is where we finally get to see them find each other. And ughh it is so freaking amazing when they do.
This is a dark romantic duet with a hidden soft side. And that’s the best kind. The push and pull Charlotte and Easton have creates for an amazing moment when they finally let go and fall into each other. I loved this duet and I can’t wait to see if we get to hear about any more of the characters from Charlotte and Easton’s world!
Brilliant Followup to “A Debt Owed”! Fantastic Narration
A Debt Repaid The Debt Duet, Book 2
By: Clarissa Wild
Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
I am loved Charlotte and Easton’s story and the direction Clarissa Wild took it in this final book of the amazing “Debt Duet”. She continues to deliver fantastic storylines that grabbed both my attention and my heart. This book picks up where the first book ends, Claire is on the run and Easton is going mad and has everyone out looking for her. He also threatens her father that their deal would be off if she is not returned. Claire in a foreign country has no where to go, there isn’t anyone she could call or trust. When a stranger offers her help she accepts, skeptical at first but she has little choice and her gut tells her he is a good guy. She hides for several weeks, but when she gets a taste of freedom she starts to roam more and that is when she sees she is being watched and it turns out it is not any of Easton’s men. When something happens she is forced to turn to Easton for help. I loved how everything plays out, it is well plotted with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns you did not see coming, some thrilling and suspenseful moments and some hot romance. I loved the new characters introduced and also loved to see Easton evolve, I won’t say more but he really grew as a person. Also loved the ending and seeing Charlotte get the last work in. Clarissa Wild thank you for this great duet and conclusion!
I listened to the Audible edition, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are talented narrators and voice artists. They continue to bring these characters to life, giving them their voices and personality. They do an amazing job portraying the characters and projecting their emotions, as well as the drama of the story, into their performance. Great job speaking Dutch too. They are entertaining storyteller and their duet performance enhances the story to another level of greatness. Thank you for another great listen
Charlotte finally is free from Easton and finds someone that helps her but even free she still feels that at times she’s a prisoner, always looking over her shoulder.
Easton will do anything to have Charlotte back, including getting help from the man he hates, he can’t function without her.
Charlotte can’t believe the length gone to or that Easton would do something like that, she has no choice she knows the only way is to return to Easton to save her friends daughter. After finding out more information she realises that Easton may not be the monster she thought he was, but she still hasn’t gotten any freedom, deciding to give into him, she doesn’t understand when he says it’s what he wanted but he wants her to be ready and she’s not.
Easton just wants Charlotte to love him, he’s prepared to give her everything for that love, his assistant lets him know that she sees that Charlotte has feelings for him, that could end up with love but he hasn’t given her the one thing she wants more than anything, her freedom.
Can Easton give Charlotte the one thing she wants so she will she how much he loves her, or will she keep feeling conflicted seeing him as the guard to her prison cell.
What a great duet. I was waiting patiently for this book because of the cliffhanger in book 1. This starts off right where it was left off, and holy rollercoaster ride. I love the way Easton started changing the way he was thinking and the revenge he was so determine to get. This was an amazing love story. A must read.
Will she be found and imprisoned in her gilded cage again or will she keep her freedom?
A Debt Repaid is the second book in the A Dark Billionaire Romance duet. It picks up immediately after A Debt Owed finished. Charlotte has escaped and is now in a city and country that she does not know and has no resources nor speaks the language. So she is unable to get back to her life in the US and is to afraid to go the the police. However, she is not going back to Easton, no how and no way. Her freedom is what is most important and she will deal with anything that happens while she is free. After spending a night in a boarded up building and being awoken by a bong smoking homeless guy she ends up sleeping on a park bench. She awakes and is befriended by a man named Delon who offers her help – food and a place to stay. He has a daughter named Ashanti who also befriends Charlotte. Both Delon and Charlotte freely give Charlotte hope, love and most importantly safety while she is hiding from Easton. There are no other motives by Delon other than helping someone who needs it. But as we know Easton is obsessed with Charlotte and will not rest, nor will he allow any of his people to rest, until he finds her and brings her back “home” under this lock and key.
Charlotte’s dear old Dad gets involved in all of this of course. It seems his life is still on the line until Charlotte is found according to Easton. He gets a lead on Charlotte and instead of telling Easton he devises another plan that involves Ashanti to coerce Charlotte out of hiding so he can hand her back to Easton, again as payment for his debt and his life.
During all of this Easton’s most loyal and longest term employee, his personal assistant Jill, starts to voice her feelings and plants the seed in Easton’s mind that Charlotte really just wants her freedom and will do anything to get it. So maybe if he gives her freedom she can willingly make the choice to stay with him. Easton also realizes that in his quest to make Charlotte pay for her Dad’s misdeeds, overworking his father to death, that it is overshadowing his true feeling for Charlotte and why he has been obsessed with her since they first met when they were young teenagers.
A Debt Repaid is a wonderful and engaging continuation and conclusion to the story of Charlotte and Easton.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Loved this book and the ending. I was not sure if Easton and Charlotte were ever going to mend their problems, but they did. You will love this ending.
I was waiting for this follow up and I didn’t disappoint! This was part 2 and the final in the duet after A Debt Owed. Easton and Charlotte are one of my favorite couples! Totally entertaining and engrossing and now both are out so no waiting after book 1’s cliffhanger. Big fan of all of Clarissa Wild’s books!
I loved how the author brought this story full circle. The suspense and mystery was palpable throughout the entire series and it was mesmerizing in this second book. The characters had an amazing connection with each other. I could feel his obsession with her, his need to control her. I could also feel her shifting emotions from fear to resolve to guilt to submission. I was drawn into this story easily – I didn’t feel like I was reading a book, I felt like I was part of the story. Great storytelling.
Easton and Charlotte are still at odds. Charlotte has escaped and is on the run. Easton will do anything to get her back. Will they be able to put differences aside and start a new relationship? This is the conclusion of the duet and ties up all the betrayals, lies, and secrets. A good read and duet.
I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am leaving a review.
This was just as good as her previous books with her well developed characters and exciting storyline that captivated me from the first word written till the last.

I loved this ending! Easton and Charlotte both had some growing up to do. Easton had a lot more than growing up to do; he had to get over his revenge and find the happiness that he wanted and craved. However, when you have hated as long and as much as he has, it was going to be hard to do that, even with the love that Charlotte could give him.
Charlotte finally has gotten free of Easton and her family. She has gotten everything she could ever want with being free of Easton except Easton. So when Charlotte finds that that the only way to save someone is to go back to Easton, she will do just that.
A Debt Repaid is a beautiful book, and I enjoyed it very much. I will be rereading these books!
what a amazing ending to this fast pace read that will have you on the edge of your seat because you will need to know what happens with this love hate read.
Wow wow wow!! I was very eagerly awaiting this book after finishing book 1…..and I was richly rewarded. A Debt Repaid begins where A Debt Owed leaves off so I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. It was the perfect conclusion to this must read duet.
This book picks up the story immediately where book 1 had ended and so I advise everyone to read book 1 in this duet first. This book continues the story of Charlotte and Easton, they both grow as people and as a couple. There are some twists and turns in the plot and the author writes in such a way that there is quite a bit of suspense, resulting in this being a page-turner. It’s a wonderful story

A Debt Repaid picks up where The Debt Owed left off. I loved reading and following the conclusion of Easton and Charlotte’s story. The surprises along the way for both of them and how it helped them move forward toward them realising what they mean to one another. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves dark romances.
Wow! This book is simply phenomenal. What can I say, Charlotte and Easton are full of surprises—I was flabbergasted with the unexpected revelations that happened, but it is jaw-dropping good! This story will keep you on the edge of your seat to find out what happened next. Not all of its surprises are pleasant ones, but there is a certain satisfaction in experiencing a thread that is so obstinately unexpected. Find out how Charlotte repaid her father’s debt—you will be amazed! The storyline is fluid, and the characters are extremely well developed. Clarissa Wild has constructed a deliciously duplicitous dark romance that will lure you into the wee hours and beyond that you will not be able to put this book down. You won’t regret reading A Debt Repaid!
