These books (3) have been very entertaining. Great descriptions of the upperclass snobby people and the regular blue collar folks. I love the “old ladies” and their current state of health/impairment they add quite the interesting side notes to the story. I truly hope there are more books to this series. Enjoyable light read.
This is a fun read. The characters are likeable, the plot is interesting but not too convoluted, and you’ll care about what happens next.
This was a fun and easy to read book. I enjoyed the lead characters and can’t wait to see what unfolds for them next.
Fun lifeless read.
A cozy novels go, this one gets about as cozy as one would want. It light, entertaining, and a good, relaxing, moderately short read. I enjoyed it.
Entertaining, funny and some drama make for delightful reading. Great mix of characters.
I loved the characters. Very enjoyable read.
What a fun read. I really enjoyed the character of Heloise. You had me at Gin & Plum sorbet.
I liked the back story and what lead to Kit returning back home. The characters were fun and relatable and I felt as though I was there during the story. I was raised by my grandmother and her friends, so really loved the neighbors and their eccentricities.
I look forward to reading her other books.
Bates/chase has a great sense of timing. All her clues are spot on. Liked the infusion of medical terms to add intrigue. Suttle romantic inferences between Kit and Romeo (really!) turn gruesome into interesting.
You want too read them all!
A fun mystery series!
I really loved the heroine and the story. It had just the right amount of attitude and devil-may-care to keep the ending in suspense. What is with the neighbors???? Read and find out!
I had a difficult time getting into this book. I am giving it another turn next month…probably tried to read this after another lingering book…
Great page turner couldn’t wait to get to the end. Kit Wilder is a great character. Looking forward to reading more in the Saints and Strangers collection.
Simply a pleasure
Excellent. Really loved this book. One of those books hard to put, down.
That is my kind of book. That means I am not bored, loving it.
I enjoyed it
This was a very nicely written story with exceptional characters. Loved reading this and could not put it down.
I loved this fast fun read. The characters are quirky making for an easy read. I had to get the next book in the series to see where the characters go.
An Enjoyable, Clean Mystery.
I didn’t expect much from this one but ended up really liking it, almost to 5 Stars worth. It had a few typos and editing issues but not enough to detract from enjoying the story. Most scenes changes within a chapter were indicated by a double or triple space between paragraphs, but some felt very abrupt. I suspect the ones that came without warning happened on page breaks so I didn’t notice the spacing change. Later I noticed that new scenes also began with the first three words all in caps, so if I’d paid more attention I would have noticed it quicker. Still it wasn’t hard to figure out anyway.
Kit was a fun heroine to follow, smart and cute with a good sense of humor. I liked her sarcasm and how she dealt with her nosy senior citizen neighbors, and I also liked her friendship with her two oddball classmates. The budding romance with Romeo was enjoyable, too. Fun flirting with no insta-love or insta-sex involved. How refreshing!
Kit’s adventures and mishaps were believable enough, though I doubt if any policeman would actually include her in the investigation like Romeo did. Still, it was fun enough that I’m getting the next book in the series. I’m hoping Ms. Bates/Chase can keep up the good writing for another one. I’ll have to let you know.
