This time we spend the day at the library with Carl and Cindy. It is good to take children to the library and not only to get them to read but also to teach them to behave and stay in silence. The library is the best place ever: full of books, full of stories, full of imaginary worlds where your mind can travel endlessly.
A great addition to this series. This is my favourite so far.

Carl and Cindy are off on another one of their adventures. This time they get to go to the big library with Mom. They need to be quite in the library to allow others the peace to read. It turns out to be a very exciting and very memorable day. The day ends with mom trying to make bedtime more fun.
This beautifully illustrated picture book is perfect for a bedtime story for a parent to read or for a child who has just begun to read independently. It stimulates creativity and will help to boost a reader’s confidence as they follow along. The narrative is age appropriate. I enjoyed the fact that each child, mom and even the dog got books suited to them. This book shows the use and importance of a library and what a great resource it can be. It teaches the importance of being considerate of others and being part of and using community resources. This would be a great book to open a discussion on how to behave in a library, what resources it provides, consideration of others and being part of a community. I think this is a wonderful book for children.

Carl and Cindy want a new story. Mom walks with them to the library, obeying traffic rules. At the library, they are reminded to be quiet and look at all the library offers. They all choose their books, even one for Roxy, the dog. They read their books until bedtime. A Day at the Library is an excellent book with colorful illustrations.

A Day at the Library is a nice book that talks about going to the library. It would be a cute read for kids before their first trip to the library. I think young children will like the colorful images, and it is a great conversation starter between parents and kids thinking about what books they enjoy. Kids will enjoy the family dog, Roxy, too. I took off one star for the fact that the mom left her kids to go to another section of the library. Depending on the library itself and other circumstances, that is not a good idea. I took off another star for the fact that the heights of Carl and Cindy vary from page to page. And I took off another star for the illustrations in general; I really don’t care for them. They were not made for the book; instead, it looks like they were developed with what was available. The type of clip art used throughout the book varies, and that drives me crazy. The mom and her kids aren’t even coordinating clip art pieces. I hope that does not sound petty, but personally, I would not purchase a picture book in which I dislike the pictures.

This is a fun book about a mom taking her two children to the library to get books. They spend the day and even find a book for their mom to read to their dog.
