What happens when a sassy, confident bookstore owner who’s a magnet for trouble, meets a dangerously sexy man with a secret agenda? A DATE WITH FATE, Volume 1 in The Adventures of Anabel Axelrod ongoing series. Not a big fan of the ‘true love” concept after a bad break-up, Anabel Axelrod is no Cinderella waiting for Prince Charming to come and sweep her off her high heels. But when the happily … the happily single control enthusiast, who has a rule for everything in her life, especially for the men she dates, goes out with the not too tall, seductively dark, and not too handsome Luke Drake, it’s fireworks time! Anabel is appallingly fascinated to find herself addicted to his touch and lusting after the alpha male like no man before in her extensive dating career. But Luke Drake doesn’t play by anybody’s rules to get what he wants – and he wants Anabel at any cost. It doesn’t take Anabel long to realize she is right to be extremely skittish because the mysterious new man in town is very tricky and he fights low-down, deliciously dirty.
Let the fun begin as Anabel and Luke, along with some fun-loving friends and a couple of bat-shit crazy relatives, embark on a suspenseful, exciting, roller-coaster-ride of a weekend. Packing plenty of heat, humor, and heart, if you’re a fan of steamy contemporary romance grab your copy of A Date with Fate today and see if you become addicted, too.

Author’s Note: The Adventures of Anabel Axelrod is an ongoing series of full-length novels (and one novella) written for the entertainment of adults. It’s never the author’s intent to offend, so PLEASE do not read these books if any of these events occurring in an ongoing series might trigger your offended button: Cliffhangers (by definition meaning not every plot line is finished in one volume, but may continue into the next book or even across the whole series), sexual situations, sexual fantasies and role-playing you may not personally approve of or wish to practice at home, the real possibility there won’t be a H-E-A at the end of each volume, mild to sometimes strong violence depending upon plot lines, and occasional colorful swearing.

Anabel is as cagey as she is quixotic. The relationship that blooms between her and Luke, her object of lust, is as fraught with misunderstanding, as it is sexy; and yet, somehow, it all works. Often with hilarious results. This is a series that I eagerly anticipate every new book, even the spinoffs, because the characters are rich, the stories …
I’m not usually into mysteries but I couldn’t put it down once I started reading. I love Bel’s character! There’s not to much more I can say about the book without giving too much anyway. The book definitely ended on a major cliffhanger so be expecting to read the whole series.
This book was fun and interesting and will look for more but hard to keep track of all those “J “s.
I enjoyed this one. So much so that I will read the next in the series. I like the heroine. She certainly packs a lot into her days in a small town.
It was good enough that I bought the next one. Enjoyable read.
Very original.
Loved the series, though it did get a bit drawn out after book six. However, Annabelle is a character and the dialogue and storylines are really engaging.
I love this series. Smart, snarky heroine and a tough, sexy hero. Heroine gets herself into all kinds of situations.
The books are very well written. Funny, exciting, and passionate.
Such a scary and horrible first chapter I couldn’t read anymore. Not something I ever want to experience.
I just could not get into this book. The characters were shallow and I lost interest the more I read. I stopped reading around 15-20%,
Too drawn out, waiting for action
Just couldn’t get past the first chapter. I could not see past the badly attempted humor it attempted to make.
What a fun read. Reminds me a bit of Janet Evanovich but spicier. Lots of fun characters.
A Date With Fate was a good book, but I’m still not sure if it was a cozy mystery, a contemporary romance, or a women’s fiction. Maybe it was a blend of all three? The beginning seemed a bit rushed, with far too many characters (albeit wonderful in their own unique way) to even understand exactly who was what and what was happening. I had to go …
So fun to read. Refreshing
Story is all over the map and not entertaining or romantic. Did not finish reading not because of language or sexy storyline author alludes to in opening but lost interest.
Did not like that it wasn’t a complete standalone book.
Wow, grabbed my attention from the first and held it to the end. I have since gone on to the rest of the series so I can see how the whole relationship trials/tribulations played out.
I’m up to book 6 in the series. They are fun and mad cap. Some of the things the sisters get up to. Then there is the sexy boyfriend that is always surprising Anabel in some way or another….and the steamy parts are steamy!
Really fun read.
The story was more fun to read when I started skipping over pages and pages of backstory that were oddly placed between dialogue and action. I have no interest in purchasing the rest of the 10 books in this series because I feel like she could have written 3 really good books with a satisfying ending of the series if the author had cut out all the …
