From the very first chapter to the end there are so many twists and turns.
The characters in these stories were so relatable and seemed like they could be your next-door neighbors.

THE SLEUTH’S MISCALCULATION By Kimberly Rose Johnson
I really enjoyed this librarian/cop mystery romance. There was some danger and mystery, small town feel, family and moving on from the past. There were great characters with a lot of facets covered in this storyline.
Avalanche by Gayla K Hiss
I really enjoyed this book. There was a lot going on and I loved all of the suspense and trying to guess who was doing what. I enjoyed watching relationships progress.
A CAFFEINE CONUNDRUM By Kimberly Rose Johnson
This was a fun small town mystery with a dash of romance. There were so many leads and everything was so convoluted as you tried to figure out who could be the culprit and why. It was fun to follow both women through the experience.
MAKE HASTE SLOWLY By Amy Rognlie
This was a wonderful mystery mixed with romance. There was murder and drugs and sex trafficking and a huge bunch of confusion and secrecy. It was a wonderful adventure that had me on edge the whole time. Honestly, I’m still on edge and heading over to read the next book in the series!
Vigilant- Sara Davison
Wow. An incredible and thorough story. I can’t wait to read the next book. These characters were amazing and the situation and their pasts were tough. It was so well done. The romance and the suspense and the law enforcement angles. Just, wow.
I read three of these books individually:
1. The Sleuth’s Miscalculation by Kimberly Rose Johnson: I was not prepared for all the twists & turns, but they made the story so much fun to read! This book was so unlike the other books by this author, and what a fantastic job she did with the mystery and even a little bit of suspense. She created a great character in the librarian Nancy Daley, but I really didn’t like Sheriff Deputy Carter Malone at the first. I love this quote: “Stressing won’t do any good. Rather it will tire me out and weaken my defenses. I choose to trust the Lord that everything will turn out in the end.” I love that it is only book 1, because that means there is more to come! Everything about this book, including the title & the cover, was just fun, fun, fun!
2. Avalanche by Gayla K. Hiss: I was completely unfamiliar with this author, and I am sooo thankful that I tried her! The mystery and suspense in this story were captivating and so very well-developed! I also loved the breath-taking scenery of the North Cascades National Forest that she weaves into the story. It makes me want to go visit it and see for myself. And then there are the many wonderful truths in this book about faith, forgiveness, and restoration.
I loved these quotes: “my anger blinded me to His love & grace. It doesn’t take much faith to believe when everything is going well. It’s when things don’t make any sense that our faith is tested the most.” And: “it’s in the darkest times when faith would provide the most comfort. Even if you don’t understand why, you know that someone is in charge and there is a plan.” I can NOT wait until this author’s next story comes out!!!
3. A Caffeine Conundrum by Angela Ruth Strong: This is such a delightful, fun book to read! Marissa is clumsy and careless with her words. Because she was related to the founding fathers, so much more was required and expected of her as she grew up. Upon finding her grandmother’s diary, she is afraid of the skeletons it might contain. The puns were fun, and I appreciated the humor, as well as the mystery, peril, little surprise twists in the book, and of course, caffeine! Themes of learning to value what Marissa actually had instead of what she wished she had, learning to work together, admitting we all need grace, learning to give the same grace to someone else that you wished was given to you, learning to apologize and how admitting mistakes is humbling, but it also frees us. Love these lines: “This is what hope smelled like.” And “Truly great people know how to make other people feel like they are great.” Very enjoyable story!
Fun Set from three of my favorite Authors, and looking forward to reading the other three in the set!
