New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors Heidi McLaughlin and L.P. Dover come together for a sexy new series that delivers romance for every season!
It’s New Year’s Eve and Natalie has a rare night off from her shifts at the hospital. Determined to have fun with friends, she stops at a local store for provisions.
There, amongst the craft beer and pork rinds, she comes face to face with … face to face with her high school boyfriend, Brennan McLean. He’s a rockstar. She’s a nurse. To say life led them in different directions would be putting it mildly. Still, time hasn’t lessened the electric chemistry between them. By the end of the night more was dropping than just the ball.
Convincing herself she could have fun without getting attached, Natalie treats herself to a weekend tangled in the sheets with him. But that lie she told herself pops faster than champagne bubbles.
With media rumors swirling around Brennan, can the pair find a way to make their unlikely relationship work? Or will Natalie’s resolution not to get her heart broken meet a painful end?

5 SEXY AND SWEET STARS!! This was a quick sexy and sweet story. Natalie and Brennan story has all the feel for a perfect book. These two authors know how to suck us readers in. I am so excited for this series.
This book is about Brennan who’s a singer and Natalie his old high school girlfriend. When his flight gets cancelled on new years eve while he’s home visiting his parents he bumps into Natalie and the two reconnect after years apart. Will Brennan’s fame keep them apart or will the love between them conquer all?
This was a nice sweet read, I really enjoyed Natalie she was nice but knew that she wanted Brennan but that she probably wouldn’t be able to keep him because of his famous lifestyle. I loved that Brennan still had feelings for Natalie and wanted to be with her despite his fame. I thought the ending was nice when he decides that she’s more important than fame and he’s willing to move back home to be close to her.
I would recommend this book if you like a short, sweet read. There is some sex but the story is fast paced and I wished it had been longer to develop the characters relationship but it was a nice read.
Oh wow!
Not what I was expecting out of a novella! This one packs a whole lotta punch into the story!
Natalie and Brennan were high school sweethearts who see each other years later while shopping For beer during a blizzard years later.
How’s there encounter? Well, you need to read this one to see what happens!
You won’t be disappointed – I greatly enjoyed this one!
This was a sweet second chance romance that will have you fallen in love with Brennan. Brennan & Natalie are absolutely perfect together. After years apart there feelings are still strong. I love reading Brennan & Natalie get there second chance. Even though their story is short it will be a story that will have you hooked.
A Date for Midnight
Book 1 The Dating Series
4 Stars
What a super sweet, hot, and sexy novella.
“I love the time I had with him, but maybe that’s all it’s ever going to be … memories. I hate myself for wanting more.”
Recommend. Can not for the next one.
A Date for Midnight is a short quick read. With a bunch of kids home from school right now I was worried about finding time to sit down and read a book, this so was the perfect length for me. Brennan is a sweet nice guy. He’s a famous rock star and back in town for the holidays. Snow gets him stuck for more than we wanted to stay for. I liked that even though Brennan is a famous rock star, he’s not really isn’t a player. Him and Natalie once dated when they were in high school. There paths cross again while he’s home. Natalie is a nurse. She’s hardworking and a sweet girl. I liked these two together. This one is a nice sweet read.
Short but Sweet!
A Date for Midnight is a super sweet novella. Natalie and Brennan were high school sweethearts. When their lives split apart after high school they thought they would never see each other again. Years later when fate brings them back together the sparks are still alive. I finished this book in one sitting. Pick it up and devour it. You won’t be disappointed.
Natalie is a hardworking girl. She’s had a rocky couple years but had reached her goals. Brennan is a hometown superstar. A Chance of a lifetime comes along and hopefully they will take it.
When Natalie has a sexy reunion with her high school boyfriend, world famous rockstar, Emerson, on New Year’s Eve, she knows it’ll be just a temporary one night kind of thing. So imagine her surprise when it lasts a bit longer than that. Alas, he has to get back to his life, and so does she. Will their lives ever intersect again?
This is a sweet, sexy second chance novella. I loved Nat and Brennan together. He may be a rockstar but he’s no womanizer, he’s just a regular guy who happens to have an extraordinary talent, and Nat is the sweetheart who only loved him for him, not for his superstar status.
After having read and loved this one, I’m really excited for the next installment of The Dating Series.
A Date for Midnight is a lighthearted second-chance romance
This brief story centers around Brennan McLean and his high school sweetheart, Natalie O’Brien. Their reunion occurs during a snowstorm on New Year’s Eve. This storyline illustrates the adage that “you never forget your first love.” Though their romance progresses quickly, you can feel the Brennan’s struggle to determine what is truly important.
This is the first book in the Dating Series, a collaboration between Heidi McLaughlin and L.P. Dover.
This review was for an ARC provided by the authors.
A Date For Midnight is sweet, hot, sexy and hits the spot! Brennan and Natalie’s second chance romance is oh so good and I cannot wait for more in the Dating Series! Five stars for this fabulous collaboration from Heidi McLaughlin and LP Dover!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is the first in a series of novellas from Heidi McLaughlin and L.P. Dover. This story is a second chance romance told in both characters point of view. This is the story of Natalie O’Brien, and her ex Brennan McLean. He is not a rockstar and she is an emergency room nurse. Two careers that are so far opposite each other that it wasn’t even funny. However when he gets stuck in town and she runs into him on a rare night off the sparks are flying. Can these two get their second chance or are two many things stacked against them. This is a novella so it isn’t a super long story but it is a complete one that you are going to fall in love with.
I was so invested in this couple,
Cruising along –
Enjoying the laughs –
The light angst –
Wondering how they were going to make it –
Then suddenly it ended!
No kidding – yeah it was an HFN but still…
I want more of these two!!
I’m actually throwing a bit of a tantrum
Sigh…
I know it is part of a running collection
Just let me stomp my feet for a bit
The cast was so easy to fall in love with.
Despite it being a quick read I was well invested by the time we got our happy for now.
Natalie is such a sweetie. She is currently between relationships and not looking for anything permanent but it looks like fate has other plans for her.
Brennan is living his dream, well sort of. Thanks to a snowstorm (and trust me he is thankful ) he will not be returning home for new years. Deciding to spend some time catching up with ol’ acquaintances he heads out for the evening.
Only for Fate to place Destiny in his path.
The copy I read was an ARC so this review is written with the assumption errors were fixed in the final draft.
A Date for Midnight is book 1 in the Dating Series written by Heidi McLaughlin and L.P.Dover and if this book is anything to go by this is going to be a series we will want to read.
Book 1 is a second chance romance for Natalie and Brennan who were high school sweethearts but their life have taken them to very directions, Natalie became a nurse and Brennan a rock star…..
The timing wasn’t right as teenagers but fate seems hell bent on pushing this couple together as adults and when they meet up they find the chemistry they shared as kids has now risen to a whole different level. The chemistry is sizzling but can they pick up where they left off ……
I loved the characters and I loved their story, I was drawn in from the first page and this entertaining read held my attention to the very last line. Looking forward to book 2 in the series.
McLaughlin and Dover give sex appeal a heart. Natalie and Brennan are a tempt that should not be missed. A Date for Midnight brings a touch of bad boy fantasy with a smidge of real world romance. Used to be lovers get a second chance to maybe get love right. Packed full of swoonworthy moments and heartaching angst, Mclaughlin and Dover put their best heart forward. These two talented authors are perfectly in tune when it comes to speaking the language of the heart.
3.75 stars— A DATE FOR MIDNIGHT is the first instalment in the contemporary, adult DATING erotic, romance novella series co-authored by Heidi McLaughlin and LP Dover. This is emergency room nurse Natalie O’Brien, and rock star Brennan McLean’s story line.
