Great story
The story runs concurrently with Book 1, so there is overlap in some of the scenes. (Really cool, I think.)
The two main characters are opposites when it comes to organization and planning, but are alike in their thoughts of family, responsibility, and faith.
They realize they love each other but is love enough?
A Date for Daisy is a contemporary Christian romance between a woman renovating an old home to be a bed and breakfast and the contractor she hires to help her. It’s got great conflict, a hero I adored, a delightful heroine, and all the fun of my HGTV favorites.
A Date for Daisy is the first book in Tara Grace Ericson’s Bloom Sisters series, however there is a prequel to the series, Hoping for Hawthorn. Daisy has big dreams and hopes to renovate the house on her family’s property into a bed and breakfast. However things keep on getting in the way of her plans.
Daisy was such a fun character. She was random and sporadic, she was so different from me and yet I really enjoyed her book. She had big dreams and hopes, but she sometimes just jumped before she looked. I loved how she dreamed big, but how she tried to put God first and trust Him. However Daisy had to learn that a little organization can go a long way.
Lance was the complete opposite of Daisy. He is organized and always makes a plan, but his need for control could be his downfall. Lance was a nice guy and although he was kind of harsh, I still liked him. However Lance had to learn to trust God with things out of his control. Lance had to learn that God was leading his life and that he was doing what was best.
Daisy and Lance were perfect together and it was so cute to read about them falling in love as they worked together. But when things get complicated with Lance’s work and Daisy’s plan for the bed and breakfast, will their relationship last?
I would definitely recommend A Date for Daisy! It was a great book and a wonderful addition to the series. A Date for Daisy is a sweet clean, opposites attract Christian romance.
A Date for Daisy is the first full length novel in the Bloom family series. They are a big family living in a small town which adds a lot of charm to the story.
Daisy is renovating her house in order to turn it into a bed and breakfast. When her contractor needs surgery, he gets his handsome son, Lance, to finish the job in his place. In an adorable meet cute, Daisy has quite a unique introduction to Lance to say the least. This story is a fun, clean opposites attract romance. Lance and Daisy are so different. He is scheduled and organized and Daisy is anything but. There is a definite attraction there, but are there too many differences to make it work? You’ll have to read to find out.
Between the banter, the nicknames Lance has for Daisy, and the home renovation mishaps, this book had me laughing out loud. There is also a bit of mystery because it becomes quite obvious that someone is sabotaging the opening of the bed and breakfast. Who could it be? Why are they so determined?
I look forward to reading Poppy’s Proposal which releases the end of July
A Date for Daisy is the first full length novel in the Bloom Sisters series by Tara Grace Ericson. I have been looking forward to starting this series since reading the prequel novella, Hoping for Hawthorne.
I have to say I loved Daisy’s story. I adore the Bloom farm and their sweet family, and I would love to tour the farm and attend their events. It’s such a charming place!
Daisy is a mixture of airy light and firm independence. I loved how she was scatter brained (I can relate!) but also how she was determined to learn how to do all the work on her renovation project. I feel like we could be great friends!
Lance is a hunky contractor with a soft heart and a solid faith. His search for perfection and order can be a bit exhausting, but I loved the lessons he learned along the way.
I fell in love with this renovation story (I’m not just talking about the house). It was funny, inspiring, and full of sweet romance.
I’m looking forward to getting to know the Shaw family further in the next book, Poppy’s Proposal. I can’t wait!
I was given a copy of this book by the author with no expectation of a positive review. All opinions are my own.
I stayed up way too late last night finishing this book. The characters had great depth and many layers, and I’m not just talking about Daisy and Lance. I fell in love with the whole cast and I’m excited for the sisters to get their own stories. A Date for Daisy was funny, well-written, and sweet. Grab it! You won’t be sorry.
I loved this sweet opposites attract story. Daisy and Lance are sparring one minute and kissing the next. I love it when characters grow enough to put themselves aside to see what might be missing in their lives, and this story is full of the push/pull that comes with a strong growth.
