This series keeps getting better. This may be my favorite of the series (although A Dangerous Seduction is hard to top). Tobias and Amelia are a fantastic couple and I love that Amelia is not afraid of her emotions and feelings for Tobias. Tobias, on the other hand, is afraid but because he is looking for his wife’s killer which haunts him every day. Beauty and the Beast! You sympathize with his struggles and smile when Amelia decides that she will help him. Their chemistry is off the charts explosive. There is the mystery of the Slasher (which I did figure out and it is brought to conclusion in this story in a way which can give you the creeps). LOVED LOVED IT!

English Historical Drama at it’s best.
I have really enjoyed this series. There is mystery, drama, action, and love flowing throughout the pages. I really was not sure how Amelia and Tobias were going to get their HEA but everything worked out with a unique conclusion.
The next book with Hawke and Sophia sounds like it will have a good mystery to it also.

In one word, this story was…..awesome!! From the first chapter, the author pulls you right in and then it’s page after page of intrigue, heartache, danger, twists and turns, and love.
I love a tortured hero and Tobias Kent is definitely one that you will fall in love with, no matter his gruff manner. All he wants to do is get revenge for the murder of his wife. He’s in a dark place and deems himself no good for anybody. Then he meets Lady Amelia Tattershall when she runs him over with her carriage (an accident!!!!) and he starts feeling alive for the first time in 5 years. He fights his feelings, though, because she’s a lady used to having everything she wants and he has no title or money to offer her.
Amelia may be a Duke’s daughter and have the best of everything but all she really wants is to fall in love with someone who will love her for herself. She feels an instant attraction to Tobias and even though she’s quite the innocent, she’s determined to make sure he can’t resist her:) Even when they’re just kissing, you can feel the heat between them!!
When Amelia finds herself in danger, Tobias vows to protect her….

A Lady and a bow street runner get their happy ending. I loved every page of Tobias and Amelia’s romance. A Dangerous Temptation gives you everything and a little more.
Lady Amelia Tattershall is a lovely lady who is the daughter of a duke & has grown up with anything & everything she ever wants. However, the one thing she wants cannot be purchased with the duke’s power or money – she wants to find true love but with her large dowry, it is hard to know who is honest and who is scheming only to win her fortune.
Tobias Kent is a Bow Street Runner who is heartless & cold-blooded & is consumed with thoughts of revenge after his wife was killed by “The Slasher”. He is focused on his mission & cannot be bothered by the outspoken Amelia who ran him down with her carriage. She is a bother, but he tries to deny his attraction & knows he cannot offer a duke’s daughter a life with him.
When Amelia is threatened by “The Slasher” the drama, danger & even romance begins. There is a HEA & the discovery of the villain makes for an exciting & thankful end. I highly recommend this entire series & cannot wait for Hawke & Sophia’s story in Book 6.
This was great. The suspense throughout all the books in this series was intense. I was thinking this was the last one, but no. I can’t wait for the next one. Wonderful job Ms. Eaton!
My heart was engaged just from the first page and I could feel Tobias’s grief at finding his wonderful wife dead. Murdered and by a man that was labeled The Slasher. I was hooked right there with the Bow Street Runner who I knew was going to seek revenge.
Five years later we find Tobias struck by a carraige. “Do you think he’s dead?” Lady Amelia Tattershall poked the man with the tip of her parasol. “He doesn’t look dead, Best put him in the carriage, Higgins,” parapharsed but this was the first meeting of Tobias and Amelia. It put a new meaning on “run into!” But wow what a meeting it ended up being. They shared a kiss and almost a lot more that was combustible!
Amelia was tired of looking for a potential husband. All they wanted was her dowry and of course, she being the only daughter of a duke, did not help one bit. She wanted love and to feel a something extraordinary, and darn if just being with Tobias that short time did not produce that feeling! I adored Amelia! Her sense of humor and the banter between her and the hero. A handsome strong hero with ebony hair and a strong five o’clock shadow and eyes a deep dark amber with flecks of gold in his irises. Plus with an Irish brouge.
A fast paced story filled with suspense, a murderer and this couple, different in social standings but they cannot fight the attraction. All I can say is Jillian Eaton has a gift in her writing to bring the characters and settings alive because I was totally engaged in this story and I could not stop reading until I turned that last page! I highly recommend.

This is a thrilling, suspenseful and romantic story. Five years ago Tobias was a dock worker when he came home one morning to find his wife murdered, when he got himself together he became a bow street runner so that he could track down the murderer. He drinks a lot and is focused solely on revenge. Him being drunk contributed to his meeting Amelia, her carriage had run into him and he was unconscious. Amelia had her driver put him in the carriage, and when he woke up, he and Amelia ended up kissing, then he jumped from the moving carriage. Amelia is on her fourth season and had yet to find anyone interesting that she could love. Something about Tobias draws her to him, and makes her misbehave with him. There’s a strong attraction between them that Amelia tries to explore, but Tobias is against it for so many reasons. And there’s always the slasher to hunt down. When one of Amelia’s suitors gets a bit too pushy Tobias comes to her rescue, and they make an enemy. A couple of shocking twists you don’t see coming add to the drama of the storyline. The story drags a little, but it’s a great story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
Tobias and Amelia were the perfect pair in this story. I loved the mystery and intrigue that surrounded their climactic love affair. The characters were so vibrant and interesting and I loved the story! Great read

Book five in the Bow Street Brides series and the first book in this series that I have read, I now want to read the other books. This story kept me on the edge of my seat I had to know who the Slasher was, boy was that a surprise! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have read several of Jillian Eaton’s books now, and I have enjoyed them. This book is no exception. The author is very good at manipulating both the reader’s emotional heartstrings and the characters’ thoughts and actions. The prologue, showing the hero coming upon his newly murdered wife five years before the bulk of the story, immediately makes the reader have great empathy and sympathy for the hero. She immediately switches it up with the scene of this book’s hero and heroine’s meet-cute told from the perspective of the heroine. The switch is jarring because of the sharp differences not only in the circumstances of the scenes but the voices of the characters. The heroine comes across as smart but a little naïve and as someone who has a good sense of humor and sense of self. The hero and heroine have a near instant and actually believable chemistry that is off the charts and only continues to grow as the book progresses. Because of the loss of his wife, the hero is a wounded soul seeking to avenge his wife’s death. The heroine isn’t quite willing to give him up despite the darkness she can sense within him or the difference between their social standings.
I enjoyed this book very much, both the romantic aspects between this unlikely couple and the suspense plot of finding and bringing the hero’s former wife’s murderer to justice. A solid historical romantic suspense!
Jack the Ripper type mystery.
This book starts off strong and keeps on giving. In the spirit of Jack the Ripper type mystery, this is full of drama and suspense. Amelia and Tobias story, was brilliant these were awesome characters and the author has written them so well. Their meeting was a little different and I loved it. This book will make you want your own Bow Street Runner. Highly recommend! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I loved this brilliant, steamy story about heartbreak, trust, love, betrayal, destiny, survival, and courage. The characters were wonderful, the plot was thrilling, Tobias & Amelia were delicious together, and, in fact, the only bad thing I can say about it is that it sadly came to an end like all good books eventually do. I cannot wait to read more by this author.

Since his wife’s brutal murder five years ago, Tobias Kent has been driven by his guilt for not being able to protect her and his need to avenge her. He’s been working as a Bow Street Runner determined to bring the murderer known as The Slasher to justice. Nothing interests Tobias besides revenge, certainly not the noble lady who clipped him with her carriage and then reawakened his passion. He can’t afford to be distracted when he’s closer to catching the Slasher than he’s ever been.
As the only daughter of a duke, Lady Amelia Tattershall has anything one could possibly want, yet she longs for true love, rather than the piles of suitors drawn to her for her large dowry and her father’s lofty connections. When she meets Bow Street Runner Tobias Kent she truly feels something for the first time and is hesitant to give that up, despite the odds stacked against them with their difference in class and Tobias’ tendency to run away.
Amelia is determined to heal the darkness and pain she sees in Tobias, though she knows he’ll have to choose to fight some of his demons on his own. When the notorious murderer Tobias has been hunting sets his sights on Amelia, Tobias must decide whether to keep focusing on the revenge he craves or to devote all of his energy to being the man Amelia needs.
This book was a surprise to me. I had never read this author before so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but it wasn’t this level of mystery and suspense. I thought it was quite well executed and it held my attention well; once I got about halfway through I couldn’t put it down. I’ll definitely be adding the other books of this series to my TBR pile now.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
