Demons are taking over our world.
To stop them, I need to embrace the black magic inside me.
I hate the idea. And yet, I realize just how powerful the darkness can be.
That it’s probably the only thing standing between failure and success.
And keeping those I love alive.
Can I master the demon magic running through my veins? Or will I succumb to the darkness?
What’s more, if I fall, will … running through my veins? Or will I succumb to the darkness?
What’s more, if I fall, will the world fall with me?
A Crucible Witch is the thrilling conclusion to the Spellcasters Spy Academy series. This novel features strong friendships, romance, thrilling action, and a main character willing to risk it all for those she loves.

**Warning~ you will need tissues for this book. **
So we finally come to the finale in this series and this book does not disappoint. So what will we find out in this book. Oh a whole lot of stuff. So Eva and Odette and the gang time walked to see M&M and learn some new tricks. What about the demon touch thing? Well we learn more about that and what they can possibly do with being demon touched. I loved every character in this series and I am sad to say that there were casualties and it was heart breaking. However, the outcome of it all was unexpected. So be prepared for that. I loved this series and the fact that I was so enraptured with the story line that I could not get enough. What will be in store now that this series is complete? Hopefully more about the others.
A Crucible Witch: A Supernatural Spy Academy Series (Spellcasters Spy Academy Book 3) by Ashley McLeo is an awesome story to read. This is book is number three in this awesome series that I have loved reading from the beginning. I highly recommend this story to everyone.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
Book 3 continues shortly after A Rebel Witch: A Supernatural Spy Academy Series (Spellcasters Spy Academy Book 2) with the crew in the Seventh Century, staying with Merlin and Morgan. Odie, Eva, and Morgan take a trip to 17th Century Paris to learn about black magic from Catherine Montvoisin, known as La Voisin. She is in Xaphan’s service and helps them get possessed by the ghosts of mind witches as protection against possession by Lucifer and Ishtar, but then she betrays them. After a vicious fight, they have a narrow escape. They return to the present but have to make a quick escape to Faerie, barely avoiding possession by Lucifer and Ishtar, who cannot enter Faerie. The headmasters and -mistresses of the other spy academies help in gathering an army from the vampires, shifters, fae, and witches to fight in the coming Armageddon. After setting free the prisoners in the secret government facility in the desert, the final showdown starts against the fallen gods Ishtar, Lucifer, the Furies, Xaphan, and thousands of demons versus Odette, her crew, and the army of anti-demonic volunteers. Furious, violent fighting results with all the magical and physical skills of both armies.
Odette, Alex, Hunter, Eva and Diana team up to help save the world from demons. Demons are in the human realm and they have death and destruction in mind. The queen of hell wants Odette either on her side or dead. The best way to get Odette’s attention is to take over the Spellcasters school and hold teachers and students hostage. There is death, destruction, sorrow, friendship and self-sacrifice. The characters are amazing and they work well together. I loved this book.
This is a really satisfying ending to the series. There’s very much a “Battle for Hogwarts” vibe in part of the book. There were a lot of conflicting feelings. Happiness and tears were both to be had. While I could be perfectly happy leaving it here, there is a little bit of a HFN feeling with Odette and her friends. I would love to see more adventures with the four of them or even the ancillary characters.
The final in this amazing trilogy was worth waiting for.
Odette, Alex, Eva, Hunter and Diana are all back with a star studded cast for the supernatural ages…
If you love everything supernatural, add in time travel, time warping, crossing dimensions and visiting hell then this is a must read series.
I have devoured each and every book in this series and honestly I have loved every single book Ashley has written to say I am a huge fan is an understatement, I can’t recommend her books enough.
Intense Series Recommended
There is no rushing through these books, the detail and adventures are thorough and take the reader page by page on the journeys with the paranormal students to save the school, maybe even the world.
truly enjoyed! if you haven’t started this series, you NEED to
I recieved an ARC copy of this book from the author and here are my thoughts on it:
What a ride! Time travel, action, adventure, good and evil, a little love, this finale book of Spellcasters is a total rollercoaster!
Following Odette, Alex, Eva, Hunter and the rest of the gang through the ups and downs of good magic, demons and dark magic was a rush! Total page turner if I ever read one!
Major kudos to Ashley McLeo! Thanks for the ride
Ashley McLeo
The final book in the Spellcasters trilogy is the most exciting and action-packed of them all! Our merry band of travelers ends up back in time, and get to learn at the feet of Merlin and Morgan themselves! Odette and Eva need to learn how to control both their natural gifts and their demon magic. Not knowing what’s going on in their own time makes it even more imperative to learn all they can.
When they finally warp back to their own time, so much has happened, and the team needs to work with the other schools and allies to rid the world of the demons. Hopefully before everything is destroyed!
The action in this series is intense, and the relationships that develop are gradual and feel natural. The ultimate fight of good versus evil will have you on the edge of your seat!
I have enjoyed this series from the very beginning. It’s reviting, exciting and will keep you turning page after page. The friendships that are formed between all of them are amazing. I admit at times I wanted to smack Odie upside the head and tell her that not everything was about her, but I figured that was her teams job and they were able to get her to refocus.
I can’t wait to see what happens next, because damn i want more
Just as good as the previous books in the series. The story is fast paced and keeps you interested and this book wraps up the story nicely.
Intense finale!!!
OMG this book had me at edge the entire time!!!
Full of action, unexpected and shocking twists and turns, new magic abilities, new allies, intense emotions and an unbreakable friendship bond… this installment will grab you from the first chapter… Odie, Alex, Eva, Hunter and Diana, will rock your world in this book #friendshipsgoals
This series is a MUST read, recommended!!!
*I received an ARC of this book and decided to write an honest review.
This was a great ending to the current series. Following Odie from the beginning of the series when she struggled so much to see her become such a badass in the end was so much fun. I look forward to seeing what happens with the crew in future series as this book left me wanting more!!
A fantastic read that grabs you from the first page to the last. Its a fast past read with epic scenes, the scenes are written epically. This is a real page turner with twists and turns that keeps you enthralled with this read. I definitely recommend this captivating read. Its a must read.

This book has so many twists and turns that u are on the edge of your seat the entire book the series has gotten better with each passing book and I hope to hear more from each of the characters
This series truly gets better with every book. The adventure, the twists, it keeps the pages turning quickly. I loved all the characters and am hoping to hear more from them.
This book has it all! The characters are amazing and the story riveting.
The twists and turns keeps you wanting to know more. Odette, Alex, Hunter, Eva and Diana time walk back to the time of Morgan La Fay and Merlin.where Odette and Eva learn to use their Demon magic.
This is really good versus evil. Will what they learned be enough.
Recommend this book and series to all.
Demons are trying to take over the world and Odette just may be the only one who can save it. But before she can save the world she must first learn how to use the dark magic that is a part of her. Odette with the help of her friend Morgan must timewalk throughout time to find someone who can teach Odette how to use the dark magic inside her.
The timewalking was so intense I could see it in my head as Odette called upon her magic to open up the timewalking portal thingy. I saw it as all different colors of strings all around them stretching from one place to another without end. Some of the places they ended up at was a harrowing experience to say the least but exciting as well.
Can Odette learn how to use her dark magic without letting it take control? Will Odette feed her dark magic more and let it gain control? Can she save the ones she loves from the demons?
A Crucible Witch is a very intense and enthralling read that pulled me into its depths and sucked me right in from the first page with all the magic, demons and the timewalking. I love witches, magic and anything Ashley McLeo writes. I really and truly love the Spellcasters Spy Academy books and can’t wait to read more of them.
I highly recommend A Crucible Witch to all fans of magic, spys, demons, witches and all things paranormal. One click your copy of A Crucible Witch today to begin this magical journey!
A Sweeping Tale That Spans Time & Fate?!↔
A Gripping 4.5 Star Read
A Crucible Witch: Spellcaster Academy #3
A wonderful, scary, overwhelming & exciting finale to this epic Academy series!
Odie, Alex, Eva, Hunter & Diana travel back in time, through the warphole, to Morgan & Merlin! They have much to teach the younger witches & Morgan has a couple of specific tasks for Odie & Eva to try, they probably won’t like it but they know she’s the most trustworthy ancestor they have! They eventually return to their own time & are met by some old friends. They’re shocked to learn that months have passed since the Hell Gate opened & they disappeared!!
They make their way to meet up with their families & friends in Faerie. They’re all really saddened to learn of the lives that were lost in their absence. They mostly recuperate while in the Riverlands Court & help Amethyst return to them mentally. She’s needed to help protect the girls! Once everyone & everything is in place they intend to try to rescue the captured PIA Agent’s. They’d been detained once they’d discovered the collaboration with the demons from within their own Agency. After that they’re flying by the seat of their pants, nothing goes to plan & their moves are born of circumstance rather than step by step planning.
I didn’t quite give this a 5 star rating only because Odie annoyed me on a number of occasions. Her tendency to make it all about her, even if it’s only in her own head bugged me!! (-0.5 stars)
There are lives lost & even more secrets revealed. Shocks keep coming & they kept me on the edge of my seat. The pacing is superb & the world building is again outstanding!! The storyline is engaging & I was really invested in all of the characters and their outcomes! The writing is lovely, it flows so naturally. It also leaves us with an ending that gives us the potential & hope for further stories set in this world. (+4.5 stars)
A fantastic series & series finale.
