The first time I met Fitz or to most of the world Duke Fitzegerald Heraldo Belleville, I punched him in the throat. I was actually aiming for his chin, but he was a few years older, clearly not wiser, but at least taller. He started wheezing on his candy cane. And well, the rest is history. Hate replaced what could have been friendship, and for the rest of my teen years, I watched him flirt with … watched him flirt with every single breathing female.
I hated him.
Plotted his death with a smile on my face.
And knew that my first decree as Queen would be to chop off his head.
Except now that I’m finally old enough to inherit the title, there’s one tiny little slip-up.
I need a man by my side.
The problem?
I may have accidentally scared them all away.
I have no options.
Until the devil rings my doorbell with a wicked grin on his face and revenge dancing like sugarplums in his gaze.
I hate that I need him.
It’s a serious problem.
We have twelve days before we say I do.
I just pray we survive without killing each other first.

It is impossible to read this and not fall hard! A Crown For Christmas is everything you need/want/demand it to be!
It’s dangerous (candy canes are no joke…) and had plenty of deadly encounters. It’s sexy and has plenty of tension. It’s sweet and tragic at the same time. It is the perfect Crown for this holiday season or any other time you need some cheer.
I fell hard for Fitz. It was as easy as breathing…I wasn’t the only one either.
Two of my favorites, Rachel Van Dyken and Christmas! This was a one-click, gotta have it right now book, and it didn’t disappoint. A wonderfully sweet, fun Christmas read.
Looking for a fun, quick holiday read that gives you those Hallmark movie feels? Look no further! A Crown for Christmas is an enemies to lovers romance chock full of witty banter and heartfelt moments. The perfect book to curl up with on these cold wintry nights!
She’s heir to the throne. He’s the man she’s hated since he was a boy. Now he’s about to become her other half.
Phillipa is a princess. She’s lonely but doesn’t really trust because of her position. She needs to find her king so that she can take her rightful place at the throne.
Fitz has taunted her for what feels like forever. But maybe all that teasing and hatred was a mask for his true feelings.
There is a fine line between love and hate. That guy who has been in your life forever, may just be your forever.
The banter and sexual tension was super hot! These two were a perfect match of insults and passion.
This royal story is sweet and swoony! Fitz has all the right words. Once these two embrace their connection, everything else falls into place. A Wonderful Christmas Treasure.
This royal Christmas romance is just enough to put a keep a smile on your face at the fairy tale romance of Phillipa and Fitz, childhood enemies and destined to be wed.
The book has great banter between the two with Fitz being the one who appears to recognize and demonstrate his feelings first. Phillipa is a little more cautious since she’s been annoyed and teased by Fitz forever.
Some of the best parts of the story come from or are precipitated by Phillipa’s late father, the King. You’ll have to read the book to see how his presence is felt by his daughter and the man he gave counsel to when he younger.
Great for Christmas!
This may be my favorite holiday read yet! I too am a huge fan of Hallmark Christmas movies and the warm fuzzy feeling they bring. Fitz and Phillipa will give you same warm and fuzzy feeling with each turn of the page.
Rachel Van Dyken’s A Crown for Christmas is the holiday romance you’ll want to read year after year, and maybe once or twice in between.
I wanted a cute read in-between books, and Rachel Van Dyken gave me exactly that in this book. It’s an adorable Christmas romance involving a enemies-to-friends romance inspired by the Hallmark Christmas movies. If you need a feel-good romance filled with a sweet hero and a spunky heroine, this is the one for you! The fact that it was about a princess only made this book sweeter.
I was laughing out loud so many times in the first chapter, that I copied the link, messaged my daughter and said “download this now!” Wonderful characters and so much fun to read!
A Crown for Christmas is a surprise book that Rachel Van Dyken gave us last Christmastime. I am so mad at myself for not reading it then but so happy that I snuck in it now.
It all started with a candy cane.
Princess Phillipa and Duke Fitzgerald loath each other. Ever since the almost candy cane killing fifteen years ago they have been plotting ways to tease the other. Fitz thinks she is a psychopath. A beautiful one and he damns her for it. Phillipa thinks Fitz is an arrogant playboy. A beautiful one and she doesn’t believe it’s fair. She also doesn’t believe that it’s fair that if she wants to be Queen that she has to be married. For love or not and since the men who have tired to court her have all ran away, it’s going to have to be without love.
Fitz will do anything for his Queen and Country including marrying the princess who would most likely kill him in his sleep. In twelve days they will be man and wife. Can they make it to the I do’s without doing just that?
Awe!!! It’s adorable, funny, flirty, and beautiful. It’s very hallmark and I loved it. I loved Phillipa and Fitz. I laughed. I cried. I laughed some more. Their intense attraction and beautiful connection was everything.
Quotes:
“Nice to see you again. We roasted chestnuts.”
“I’m allergic.”
“I’m aware.” Her grin spread wide.
“Well, at least this time you may actually follow through with it.”
“It’s like I have an angel on one shoulder going, ‘God she’s beautiful, we should kiss,’ and a devil on the other shoulder going, ‘God she’s beautiful, make sure you strike first.’”
“Is that your twisted way of saying you’d rather pull my hair and irritate me than ignore me?”
“Ah, Princess, when I pull your hair, it won’t be irritating. I can promise you that.” He winked.

A Crown for Christmas by Rachel Van Dyken was my first book by the author. It was a funny, sweet and cute Christmas novella.
Princess Phillipa was the soon to be Queen. She was beautiful, independent and sassy. Her father, the King, had died of a heart attack and Phillipa would soon be the Queen, but the law required she marry first. She always thought she would marry for love but love never happened.
Prince Fitz. I loved everything about Fitz. He was gorgeous, humorous and the class clown; but underneath it all, he was also thoughtful, serious and caring – characteristics that were hidden behind his care free humor.
I loved everything about this sappy story. Both characters were loveable and awesome. Their bantering was fun. Van Dyken made several references to Hallmark movies and that was exactly what I felt like I just read. It was quick, sappy, sweet, funny and a perfect holiday read.

Review:
I knew this book would be very sweet and fluffy. But I didn’t expect it to be this fluffy and sweet. I hoped for a little more plot and development.
It had an interesting beginning and a good premise but I expected a bit more. Maybe I wanted to much out of a novella.
If fluff and sweet are you’re thing, then you’ll love this.
This novella was oke and funny but in the end it just wasn’t for me.
Rating:
3 I enjoyed it Stars
A Crown For Christmas by Rachel Van Dyken was a sweet, refreshing, romantic, swoony book that was exactly what I needed right now. Do you enjoy watching Christmas Hallmark movies? If you do, you will love this book. It’s one of those books that after you finish it, you just feel better, like the world outside is a little bit brighter. That’s what it did for me, anyway. I loved every page of this.
Crown Princess Phillipa Marjory Answorth is next in line for the crown. She has lived her life knowing the responsibility that awaited her. She had dedicated herself to being ready to be Queen. The only problem was that in order to accept the crown, she had to be married. And somehow, she had managed to run off every suitor she’s ever had.
Royal Crown Duke Fitzgerald (Fitz) Geraldo Belleville has known Phillipa since they were little. The problem was, they were enemies. Ever since Phillipa was twelve and Fitz was fifteen, and she tried to stab him with a candy cane, they had loathed each other. It’s a funny thing, though, about two people that have spent their childhood finding every possible way to aggravate the other. Perhaps they were looking for any possible way to get the attention of the other?
It’s been fifteen years since the candy cane stabbing incident. It’s only twelve days until Christmas. It seems that Fitz and Phillipa’s mothers have figured a way for Phillipa to be ready to accept the crown. They have decided who her perfect husband would be. Only it’s the last person on earth that Phillipa wants to be married to.
“I liked the way she felt in my arms. I liked the way we felt together.”
As Fitz and Phillipa begin to spend time together, they both realize that they have misjudged each other. They also realize that all of that bantering, arguing and whatever else they did over all those years, was really a deep attraction between them. Fitz loved every layer he was able to uncover of Phllipa and he began to wonder why he never recognized what this was between them long ago. How could he not have realized that he had this beautiful, intelligent woman right in front of him all this time?
“All my life I’d thought I had nobody. All my life, my only enemy had been my only friend.”
I just loved every page of this book. Fitz and Phillipa were adorable. Fitz was everything you could hope for in a future King. Before he even realized the depth of his feelings, he had already vowed to make Phillipa’s life easier for her, to make sure she had fun, to keep her on her toes, to be by her side in all things. I really needed this right now and am so glad I found this book. The scenery was breathtaking and the characters had me melting. If you want a feel good, make you smile, make your heart happier book, then this one is definitely for you.
“What if it’s not real?”
“What if it is?”
OUTRAGEOUSLY ADORABLE HOLIDAY ROMANCE!!!
Title: A Crown For Christmas
Author: Rachel Van Dyken
Designation: Novella Length(140 pages), Standalone Contemporary Holiday Romantic Comedy #enemiestolovers
My Rating: Five Outrageously Cute Stars*****
OMG, I loved, loved, loved A Crown For Christmas by Rachel Van Dyken! Every year from November through January, I gorge on Christmas stories. I devour every single one I can get my hands on. I may be an old bird (almost 70 years young), but I simply can’t get enough of the ooey-gooey goodness of a heartwarming love story set during my favorite holiday. What can I say? I’m still a sappy romantic at heart. I’m also a diehard Rachel Van Dyken fan and have been for years, so when I discovered she was releasing a holiday romantic comedy, I couldn’t wait to get it in my hot little hands. And Van Dyken didn’t disappoint! Hands down, A Crown For Christmas is one of my top five holiday reads for the season! This delicious bite of Christmas perfection is indicative of everything I’ve come to expect and love from Rachel Van Dyken. A Crown For Christmas is exceptionally well crafted from cover to cover with a beautifully written, clearly defined first-person his and her narrative, an engaging storyline, a cast of endearing characters, and snappy dialogue that will have you laughing out loud. This story may be short, coming in at approximately 140 pages, but it packs quite an emotional punch. I was immediately smitten with the two protagonists, Royal Crown Duke Fitzgerald Heraldo Belleville and Royal Crown Princess Phillipa Marjory Answorth. OMG, Fitz and Phillipa were an absolute riot! These two childhood enemies were now all grown up and still detest each other. Or so they claim and a little too vehemently if you ask me! But you know what they say – there’s a very thin line between love and hate, and Fitz and Phillipa both wobbled precariously over that line and it was such fun watching them wobble! I’ll never look at a candy cane again without giggling! lol… You’ll just have to read the book! No spoilers from me, but I will say this… Beautiful and highly intelligent twenty-seven-year-old goody-two-shoes princess with an extremely bad temper and a daunting load of responsibility on her soon to be queenly shoulders-check! A cheeky, charismatic thirty-year-old royal bad boy who is so much more than he seems-check! A country in need of a monarch-check! A coronation delayed by a pesky little marriage stipulation-check! A lot of humor, a little angst, a lesson in responsibility and what’s really important from an unlikely source-check! An unexpected proposal-check! And a surprising and all-consuming love story that will tickle your funny bone and melt your heart-absolutely! That and a whole lot more!
Did I like this book? No, I LOVED! Will I read this author again? Definitely! Rachel Van Dyken is one of my favorites! Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am! There’s no profanity and very mild but sensual sex scenes I would rate at 2.5 flames. A Crown for Christmas is a lighthearted, feel-good, laugh-out-loud funny Christmas Romance novella with all the feels! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! I giggled, snickered, snorted, sniffled, and sighed through the entire story but by the end, I was happy, satisfied, and well entertained. Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
Fitz and Phillipa’s story was short but enjoyable from beginning to end. So many laugh-out-loud moments. My first book from this author and it was an awesome reading experience. Can’t wait to read more from RVD in 2019.
What a fun holiday read! I too am a Hallmark Christmas movie watcher, so I loved that this story was born out of Rachel’s love of the movies!
Princess Phillipa is the soon-to-be Queen following her father’s untimely death. She’s independent, wise beyond her years and has a sassy streak. In order for her to become queen, she must be married and she has no options due to the fact she’s basically run them all off!
Duke Fitzegerald Heraldo Belleville, or Fitz to most, has known Phillipa since they were children. A run in when the two were younger created a hate and competition between the two of them that has lasted for years. With Fitz’s mother being a close friend of Phillipa’s mother, he may be the perfect candidate as a King for Phillipa. The question is will the two of them actually be able to get along and not kill one another?!
I loved this short, sweet, romantic novella. Fitz was amazing and you’d be hard pressed to convince me that most women wouldn’t want a man like him. I really liked Phillipa as well. She was confident, but also wasn’t afraid to admit that she needed someone by her side and her realization that that person had been in her life the whole time was revealed in a great way.
I love RVD’s books all the time, but this was a candy cane sweet surprise!
The perfect Christmas frenemies to lovers story. Lighthearted, funny and romantic. Throw in a bit of parental manipulation (even heaven-sent directives) and you’ve got a real “Hallmark Christmas movie” book.
Sometimes candy canes are the perfect gift. Wedding gift really…
I loved the fact that the princess didn’t realize just how much Fitz meant to her with all their bickering. This is a truly heartwarming story that I think everyone will enjoy!
