The second book in The Prince & the Impostor series a well written story that kept me turning pages. In this book Ian MacEwen takes his brother Merrick Welbourne’s place and gets to live with his Father King Julian. Ian as Merrick meets Claire Wentworth who is trying to find her brother Ben who has disappeared. This story has suspense, lies, secrets, drama, danger, kidnapping, a villain, shooting, murder, romance, and maybe a second chance. I want to read the next book. I read a copy through K.U. and I am voluntarily reviewing.
A continuation of the previous book about twins Ian and Merrick who don’t know about each other or the other parent. This has Ian taking Merricks place and going to London. There he runs into Claire who is trying to raise money to ransom her brother Ben who has been kidnapped. When Ian/Merrick is forced to take a fiancee he chooses her in exchange for helping her. They enlist the help of Cameron a PI. They eventually find Ben but by that time Claire has been taken. Figuring out who took her, saving her and confronting his father follow. The epilogue gives hints of a HEA for all.
A Crown for a Lady
The Prince & thé Impostor book 2
by Tanya Anne Crosby
Finally Ian’s story, and a glimpse at Fionas HEA. Claire is in a predicament, her brother is missing, the coffres are empty and she has no one to turn too. She must raise a certain amount or her brother will meet a heinous demise. On her journey to pawn the last of her families heirlooms she’s almost run over by a speeding coach.
Ian is shocked and instantly transfixed by the young woman he almost run down, wishing he could help her he has no idea that their lives and hearts are going to be forever intertwined.
A fast paced adventure that keeps the reader engaged till the last page. An intriguing plot a vilain that will stop at nothing to get what he wants. A prince saves his damsel in distress and an old mystery solved. Tanya Anne Crosby is a magician in weaving and pulling her audience into the characters lives.
Ian MacEwen is desperate to feed his people and has to resort to robbing carriages. When he fights with the occupant in the carriage he is shocked to see his identical face staring back up at him. On a whim he exchanges clothes with the man and dumps him on the side of the road knowing his men will find him. After reading papers he has found in the pocket of the jacket he is even more curious to find out who the man the man is. The truth is sometimes hard to find out and when Ian is thrown into society’s marriage mart and is forced to choose a bride he picks Claire Wentworth whom everyone thinks is unworthy. Claire is definitely spunky and gives Ian the what for but they come to an agreement to help them both. I was caught up in this story from the beginning. I loved both Ian and Claire and loved their story.
Tanya Anne Crosby’s prose are full of sophisticated elegance and A Crown For A Lady is no exception. This tale grabbed my attention from page one. Enthralled, I could not put it down. While the twists and turns in the plot kept me turning pages, it was the depth of the characters that captivated me. While a romance, it also has plenty of action. The story unfolds as a kidnapping takes place. The setting takes us from to high society balls, to a seedy London sex club and a bucolic countryside. The pages came alive with figurative language while the scenes played in my head. Not one, but two gorgeous brothers are featured in this tale of love and family secrets. And Claire, the little sass wagon, will have you cheering her on. She’s a character you won’t soon forget. This was a great read!
This book is the second in the series and it´s best to read the other one first.
After the death of their mother, Claire and her brother are struggling to make ends meet. They are both working two jobs but they had a mountain of debts. Her brother took the wrong advice to try and clear them. Now he’s missing and Claire has to raise the money.
Ian MacKwen has been doing all sorts of things to save the people who rely on his estate. A startling discovery sets him on an incredible journey.
An exciting adventure awaits our characters and all who read the books. A hero trying to find out what happened in the past and a strong and too brave heroine trying to find her brother. Romance , danger and old scores to be settled.
I loved it.
