This book had many twists that I never expected. Good character development.
I liked this book. It had a surprising ending. It was easy to follow.
A Criminal Defense was a new twist on the old court room mystery genre. I didn’t guess right about whodunit who was culpable.
Well-written with lots of plot twists, but disappointing ending.
This is a thrilling legal procedural with several twists and shockers. The characters are definitely not the most moral group but they are memorable. As one learns reading crime novels, sometimes crime does pay very well.
Mick thinks he is a great lawyer with a loving wife Piper and his daughter Gabby. He left the DA office to defend criminal and he has a heck of a case defending an old friend David.
I don’t think I’ve met a more egotistical, self absorbed person than David. And once you meet his wife…watch out. Then there is Mick’s brother, an ex-con with the weight of the world on his shoulders. And let’s not forget the DA assistant Devlin trying his best, legally and not, to win against Mick.
In the justice system, it’s all a game to the lawyers and to hell with the victim and her family.
The lies and legal maneuvers would make a great movie…not dry and boring but full of gasps and shouts of what!!! And the hints and clues are there if you really look and read between the lines. Enjoy this book and try and put it down.
