This was a very sweet cowboy/cowgirl romance story. A friend’s to lovers story with a little jealousy, drama, new families joining and a happily ever after. Two two main characters have a great chemistry and it just jumps out from the book. I recommend this book.
This second book in the Barrel and Hearts series is an excellent story! It has all the emotions and feels as Deb muddles her way through being a new mom and feeling she is not up to expectations at her job. Mitch is by her side as her long time friend but he wants to be more. I loved this wonderful story!
I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however, I voluntarily wrote an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
Edith Mackenzie has a wonderful way with words. She weaves a tale that keeps you turning the pages, wanting to know what happens next!
Deb & Mitch’s story does not disappoint. Deb finds herself in an awful situation. Will she turn to Mitch to help her or push him away? The story gets intense but rest assured there is an HEA!
My favorite line: “I used to think love is what you found in fairy tales, but love isn’t a feeling of bliss or constant butterflies. It’s more a feeling that, no matter what happens, you have someone who has your back. It’s unconditional. A couple of weeks into falling in love, it feels like Christmas morning. A couple of months into love feels like time has stopped. And a couple of years into love, it feels like home.” YES!
I highly recommend this book and the series.
Wow, I loved the forst book of the series. Theis booklist the first does not disappoint. Deb’s story is so emotional life affirming. Many of us have been at this point in our lives thinking that we have disappointed everyone and aftaid to let anyone in. Mitch a long time frie d fights against her resistance and tries to break out of the friend zone to show her je cares for her as more than a frIend. Will she accept this or continue down her path? Great story with HEA. I can not wait for the next episode in the series. I received this book for free and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Deb ends up pregnant from a one night stand. She is convinced that because of her mistake she does not deserve happiness. She runs from her family/friends only to realize that they are who she needs.
Like so many of us when we make mistakes we turn away from those we need in our life, especially god! This book is not only realistic it has several life lessons for us all
ONE HEARTWARMING TREAT
Sensational! Edith rocks this baby to the core expending every challenge, vexation or stubborn contention, revving up the heat, passion and desire, upping the ante’ with all the frills, spills and fiascos, wrapping this baby up sleek shiny and tight. Twined, combined and interwoven, exposing the emotional quirks and defying bents, displaying the explosive ups and agonizing downs, impressive in it’s simplicity and thrilling in it’s depth, molding our characters in ways they could never have envisioned. A churning vortex chocked-full of stunning mishaps and intense circumstances, propel those spinning emotions into play front and center, hooking you from the start and reeling you in for the duration. The magnetism, attraction and chemistry collides with such intensity, exposing deep emotions, drawing our characters closer, binding them to one another perfectly. The characters are authentic and realistic with depth and qualities that add diversity, transforming into amazing personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Remarkable job Edith, thanks for sharing this awesome little gem with us.
Very good read. It was an easy story to get lost in and one you didn’t want to put down.
I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of this book. I enjoyed Edith’s previous book, but this one really hit hard for me. I’ve previously suffered from PND and I think she wrote it sensitively. I was in tears a times when she described Deb’s emotions as she could have been talking about me.
I love Mitch. He was so steadfast and patient with Deb. This book was great and having read the first chapter of Gabi’s story I can’t wait for the next one.
A cute romance, just like the first book. I loved how they kicked the jerk, Tucker, in his behind. I also think that it is important, that postpartum depression was addressed because having a child is very difficult and our hormones can go completely crazy. A nice little read, looking forward to #3.
