Frankie and Luciano are after the same goal to be the best. Neither one saw the other one coming. Will the couple let their goals stand in their way to a true and fulfilling love? I loved the well developed characters and the storyline flowed smoothly.

This is my first time reading something by this author. This was an entertaining and enjoyable read. The story was well-written and flowed nicely. The plot was interesting and had some twists and turns that made this an interesting and intriguing story. The characters were strong and well-developed. Ms. MacKenzie did a nice job of bringing this story to life with her vivid descriptions and well-developed scenes. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more by this author.

Frankie heads to a barrel racing competition in the US, and ends up with a buckle and a business opportunity. Luciano is chasing his dream of the big win as a bull rider, and he’s smitten with her. This is my first book from this author, and I enjoyed it very much, especially watching this relationship develop. There was a bump or two along the way, but Luciano isn’t the playboy that he appears to be at first. I’m really looking forward to the rest of this series.

A Cowgirls dream
A great read! I loved it!! This book is a great start to a wonderful series. The characters were awesome, loved the story line.
Received this ARC and am leaving an honest review.
This is the first book in the Barrels and Hearts series (after the prequel). I loved this story! There was so much charisma between Luciano and Frankie. It was a joy to read. I liked how Luciano would call her and be supportive of her, helping her through her fears. It wasn’t just he-man taking control.
Edith has such a way with her stories. They draw you in and you don’t want to put them down. Sprinkled throughout, you’ll find lots of Australian-isms!
My favorite line: “In every fork-in-the-road moment in life, there is a point where you are in the dead center of that decision. You could turn back, and maybe that would be safer, or you can take a deep breath, hold your nose, and jump.” Isn’t that great?
I highly recommend this book.
This is the story of Frankie and Luciano. She’s chasing her dream of winning the championship buckle for barrel racing and it’s almost in her grasp. Will meeting the handsome bull rider Luciano put a curve into her plans? I enjoyed this sweet romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Enjoyed this cowboy/cowgirl sweet romance with Australia Frankie and Brazilian Luciano. She is a horse trainer/barrel racer who comes to American to compete and train where she meets Luciano who is at the top of his game. Sparks fly between these two tough goal oriented couple.
The book is a good sweet small town western romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable sweet romance read.

Good clean read. Great cgaracters with very interesting story line. I loved Frankie and her innocence. The relationship between Frankie and Lucino was sweet. I enjoyed this author and look forward tI many more books by here. HEA.
This is a very well written book. It is a clean romance with a lot of action. I thoroughly enoyed it.
A Cowgirl’s Dream had my attention at ‘handsome Brazilian bull rider’ and that cover! Swoon! And the story line is equally intriguing – an Aussie cowgirl with a dream to make it big on the Texas barrel racing circuit. The chemistry between Frankie & Luciano is instant and intense. Luciano is all male and exudes a swooniness just standing there lol. Frankie is more versatile in personality but both characters are very likable in their own rights.
The author’s background in training horses shines in the vivid scenes at the rodeos and competitions, as well as Frankie’s interactions with the horses on the ranch. Her writing of these scenes makes it easy for readers to be quickly immersed in the sights, sounds, and emotions of that world. You’ll definitely be cheering for Frankie all along the way as she presses toward her ultimate goal.
There were a few problems I had with the book, however. To start with, when the book begins I have no idea where we are. There was no real sense of place at that point, and it took me a while to orient myself. I had to google one of the cities mentioned to know for sure we were in Australia. Additionally, there was a lot of suggestive dialogue. Even though the book is technically clean, the innuendos got a bit much for me by the end. But probably most troublesome for me was that, other than the scenes involving the barrel racing and horse training, the writing lacked dimension. I can’t even completely put my finger on the problem but I felt it especially with the secondary characters & most of the dialogue throughout.
Bottom Line: If you want a light romance with diverse characters, and you love cowboys, then A Cowgirl’s Dream is a new book you’ll want to check out. It’s not your typical cowboy story, though, in case you’re looking for more than the ‘same-old, same-old’ in westerns. Instead of Texas men, we have a ranch full of Brazilian cowboys & an Aussie cowgirl who ‘barrels’ in to the mix. It could use some tighter editing but the romance is sweet with plenty of sparks and the rodeo/horse training aspect to the story is full of energy.

This is the first book in the Barrels & Hearts series and what a sweet story it is. Frankie wins the Need for Speed championship at Tamboro, the last rodeo of the year in Australia. She gets a ticket to Fort Worth, Texas to compete in the Need for Speed finals. Gabriella (Gabi), has horse for Frankie to compete with and meets Frankie at the airport and takes her to her family’s ranch. At the party to welcome Frankie, she meets Brazilian bull rider, Luciano. I really enjoyed this story and I was glad it even had a little angst. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say if you’re looking for a new cowboy series to read, grab your copy and get started.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Frankie is the Australian Need for Speed Barrel Racing champion. She wants to win the Need for Speed World Championship in Texas. Frankie is able to find a horse to lease and a place to live and train in Texas where she meets Luciano a Brazilian champion bull rider. Will the two find time to have a relationship while both are working and training hard towards their respective goals?
This a wonderful story of family, community, hard work, determination, drive to succeed, and love. I cannot praise this book enough. The book is well written. McKenzie does a beautiful job of catching the readers interest from the first page, bringing the reader into the world of ranching, training, and competing. The characters are relatable and down to earth. I laughed, I cried, and I cheered right along with the characters. This is a book I would definitely recommend and I cannot wait for the next in the series to come out.

Amazing job Edith, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
As a debut novel, I think Edith MacKenzie did a great job and I’m so happy I was able to get my hands on an advance copy. Honestly you feel for Frankie at times and I love the sisterhood the friends all share. I love the concept of Aussie Cowgirls trying to make it as barrel racers in Texas and the Brazilian family that takes the under their wing. And Luciano, he can smile his megawatt smile at me anyday. I can’t wait to find out what happens with the other girls in the rest of the series
Eeek, my heart is melting. I love clean romances, and the feel in this one has it all. It’s a book you can’t stop reading. It’s a happy read for everyone who is a hopeless romantic. I can’t wait to read the next one from Edith Mackenzie. That Aussie author sure knows how to swoon you. Don’t wait, give her books a chance, you won’t regret it… and don’t forget to leave a review afterward.
