This Christmas is she going to lose her ranch? For years Callan Carrigan has been her father’s right hand man, so when her dad’s will names city slicker Court McAllister the new owner of The Circle C Ranch, Callan feels betrayed on every level. Then she and her sisters find their mother’s diaries, hidden from them by their father since their mother’s accidental death 18 years ago, and the shocking … death 18 years ago, and the shocking revelations explain a lot. Reeling, Callan seeks refuge in the local saloon, where it seems no one can reach her, until Court offers her a challenge.
If she agrees to be foreman at the Circle C for one year, he’ll deed the ranch back to her and her sisters. The deal seems too sweet at first—until Callan realizes Court has his eyes on something she protects even more than her family’s land—her heart.

Callan lives on a ranch and works beside her father who is often critical of her . When her father dies Callan learns that Cort who is an accountant is given the ranch. He asks Callan to stay on and help him to run the ranch, and she refuses. Can they learn to work together or will Callan find a ranch of her own to call home??
This is my second book in the series and I am really enjoying them. I do find the minor editing miss quite distracting, but that’s just me. I’ve proofread enough for author’s that I can’t turn it off. I am getting lost in the stories, which is all I can ask!
I loved it and would love a list of all the books connected to Marietta, Montana and surrounding towns. Have loved each one I have read.
Great reading
The perfect ending for the Carrigans of Circle C series.
CJ Carmichael writes stories with characters so believable they could be people you know.
The Carrigan girls’ lives are shook up when a family secret comes to light. Each deals with it in their own way. But for Callan, her life will never be the same, especially after the arrival of Court McAllister.
This review is hard for me to write without giving away too many spoilers, so I will just say you have to read it. It’s a story about life, loss, and finding love when you least expect it. I think this book is the best of all of the Carrigans of Circle C books and one of the best that I have read by CJ Carmichael.
Loved this book
Great
Callen was the last of the girls on the ranch. She and her dad were going out to see about getting the herd brought in for winter, when he had his heart attack. He died on the way to the hospital. Boy did the girls get a surprise when the will was read. Court was left his uncles ranch except for the house.
Okay story I understood Callan’s misery but the story was mostly about that misery and not the love story I hoped. the love came literally at the end of the book, maybe last couple of paragraphs so I was disappointed there really was no heat between them to speak of then at the end there was abruptly
VERY GOOD
Enjoyable read.
I really enjoyed the read
Loved it
This book was better than ok, parts of it felt rushed, with a lot of character depth, but since I didn’t read the others in the series, maybe that is why?
Good read!
Nice easy read.
Love all of this author’s books.
This book is part of a series but I think they give enough background info on the characters that it can stand alone, which is good, because I hadn’t read the rest of the series.
Great book–great series
The book explored the psychology behind the relationship between a man and his daughter’s, especially the youngest daughter who woul d do anything to please her demanding father.
A Cowgirl’s Christmas is a good, fun read! I recommend it to anyone in need of a quick pick-up!
