Connor Larkin is a good guy, hardworking, and deeply rooted in the Colorado ranch that his family has proudly worked for generations. But he has a tendency to get so focused on his work that he forgets the rest of the world around him and unintentionally ends up hurting the people he loves most.Fashion editor Tara Keyes is enthusiastic, ever positive, and as stubborn as they come. She makes a … come. She makes a promise to her dying mother to see more of the world outside of Manhattan. Her first destination is the Sunfall in Harpton, Colorado, and she cluelessly sets out for her cross-country trip in an ancient Volvo.
The ill-fated car breaks down in Harpton, forcing Connor and Tara together. They’re oil and water at first, but he reluctantly agrees to help Tara get to the Sunfall, despite how dangerous the winter trek will be through the mountains. He knows it will be even more dangerous for the stubborn woman to make the journey alone. And though he doesn’t want to admit it, something about Tara has awoken something inside of him that he hadn’t known was asleep.
When disaster strikes, they’ll need Tara’s strength of will and faith to pull them through, otherwise this brand-new couple’s first-ever Valentine’s Day together will end in tragedy.

Opposites attract.
And boy are they opposites.
Connor has a one track mind, entirely focused on his ranch.
Tara is a fashionista from New York determined to get to Sunfall.
Enjoyed these two likable but total opposites.

Tara Keyes has dreams, after mother died, she had promised that she would get her head out of the smog and visit different places. With some of her mother’s papers there was an article about a natural occurrences called Sunfall that happens in the mountains of Colorado. Tara’s best friend from college was Lainey Larkin and she lives in Colorado near where this magical vision happens for a short time each year. Lainey asked her brother Connor if he would take Tara to Sunfall, he told her no as it was to dangerous to go with someone so in experienced. Sunfall only happens in February. Finally, Tara tricks Connor into taking on the trip but all does not go well. It takes several days to hike up the mountain to the lake. Each day of the trip they grew closer and then the unimaginable happened. It became a fight for life or death. This book was a real page turner and it held my interest until the end. A wonderful romantic short story.

Fashion editor gets stuck at the ranch of Connor in Colorado when her car breaks down and he rescues her. To say that they are different as night and day is a understatement but they struggle along and soon things begin to fall into place on this Valentine’s Day. Loved this story and the characters were very entertaining.
