She wanted to be free of her past…

She created a new life for herself in San Francisco, running an interior design company and getting married, then divorced. When she returns to settle her father’s estate, she finds that her birthright is in jeopardy. And the only way to save it is to work with West Morgan, the one man she has always resented—and always found irresistible.
Can they save the ranch without killing each other … or falling in love?

Tara and West couldn’t stand each other. She thought he took her father’s attention away from her and became the son he never had and he thought she was a spoiled princess who couldn’t make time to talk to and visit her father. They have to find a way to coexist and save the ranch when her father dies and leaves it to Tara, and three foster kids he had taken in: West, Ty, and Chase. There was plenty of sparks between Tara and West and liked her ideas to diversify by bringing in guests to camp, fish, and live the ranch life. Ty the horse whisperer and Chase the professional bull rider were interesting characters and I look forward to them having their own romances.
Tara and West’s love story in A Cowboy’s Salvation by Megan Ryder, book one in her Redemption Ranch series, reminds us that there is more than one way to define home and family. Tara Rawlings didn’t understand why her father sent her away to boarding school after the death of her mother. True, he cared more about the ranch than her or her mother, but the ranch was home. He even seemed to replace her with those boys he fostered. She never did move back, at least until the death of her father. It’s at that point she discovers that her birthright is not just hers, only a fourth, and it is in danger of having to be sold off to pay taxes. West Morgan grew up bouncing from foster home to foster home until he landed at the Rawlings Ranch. He not only found a home but also a family. When his mentor dies and leaves the property divided between his two foster brothers and his mentor’s daughter, Tara, the shaky future he built is threatened. West Morgan knows all about second chances. After bouncing from foster home to foster home, he finally landed at the Rawlings Ranch as a teenager. There he found a home, something he’d never thought possible. Now an adult, he realizes he’s been given much more: a family and, most importantly, peace. But when his mentor dies leaves the property divided among his foster brothers and his mentor’s daughter, Tara Rawlings, the fragile future he’s built for himself is threatened. The only way to save the ranch is with Tara and West working together to find some ways to bring in paying visitors; fishermen, hunters, a spa, or even a B&B. Hopefully, they can work together without killing each or maybe find a forever love. The attraction between Tara and West is electric and off the charts. The air sizzles when they are in the same space.
There is definitely a fine line between love and hate and one’s family is not just by blood but often the family one creates. This is a theme that runs through the story. It’s also an important reminder in life. As Tara and West save the ranch they discover much about who they truly are as well as what is important in life.
Ms. Ryder wrote a wonderful and sexy story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Tara and West a chance to have forever love and be a family. I highly recommend A Cowboy’s Salvation to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.

The start of a new series called Redemption Ranch and I want to read the next book. West Morgan came to the Rawlings Ranch as a teen from foster care and fell in love with the ranch and the man that took him in. Tara Rawlings has come home after her Dad died and just wants to get rid of the ranch but she is in for a surprise she only owns part of it. West,Chase and Ty the other men who where mentored on the ranch along with Tara now own shares in it. A great storyline with a story that flowed smoothly from page to page. Megan Ryder has a way with words. This story was hot and heartfelt. I could not put it down. This is a definite must read.

This is a wonderful heartwarming story of regret and redemption. Tara’s father died, and she’s back to the family ranch for his funeral, and to tie up loose ends. The most annoying person in the entire world and her foster brother, West, is still there, and still a major thorn in her side. She’s had a rough past year, with the end of her marriage, and estrangement from her father, but she puts her best face forward. When her father’s will is read, he’s left equal parts of the ranch to her, West, and two other men that he fostered. For whatever reason, West sees it as his mission in life to push as many of Tara’s buttons as he can. Tara has misconceptions about the guys, particularly West, as they have about her as well. I loved watching the transformation of Tara and West’s relationship. This is my first book from this author, and it won’t be the last. I’m looking forward to more books in this series.

After growing up in different foster homes, West finally found his forever home at Rawlings Ranch where he arrived as a teenager. As an adult he also realized he found a family and peace at Rawlings Ranch. When the owner of the ranch and his mentor passes away, the ranch is divided among him, his foster brothers and his mentor’s daughter, Tara, will his future be threatened?
Tara left her father’s ranch and built a new life for herself in San Francisco, got married, and got divorced. Now she’s back for his funeral and to settle the estate and realizes the ranch is in jeopardy. West is the one person she resents and finds irresistible at the same time.
This story may send your emotions on a roller coaster ride. It’s a nice cowboy romance with family and family ties and a good story line.

A very well-written story with well-developed characters. This is about second chances all around. The father dies leaving his only daughter a quarter of his ranch. He leaves the rest equally to the three boys that he raised, but were not his. The daughter he had always pushed away wanting more for her after her mother died. She thinks he didn’t want anything to do with her and that’s why he took her legacy away from her. The chemistry between her and the oldest boy, now a man and the manager of the ranch, is off the charts. It’s a very good walk through the two of them figuring out where they stand with each other emotionally as well as how the ranch will be managed.

This is a well written book with strong characters in Tara and West as well as the supporting characters. It’s a heartfelt story of finding peace and love after all the secrets , misconceptions and emotional baggage are dealt with. It’s a story of healing and moving on and working together .. being one. I loved and highly recommend this book.

This is one of those books that touches me deep down in my soul and had me wondering why about so many things. This book brought me to tears in so many places and also had me smiling in others. It was an wonderful book that kept me deeply connected to all the characters and wanting to know more about them. This book is based in Montana on a Ranch. Tara was sent away from home as a young teen after the death of her mother to go to school and never really came back to live much on the ranch. When she did it was to discover her dad has taken in slowly 3 young men, her age and younger to foster. They stayed on the ranch through out years while Tara married and moved on with her life. This book is what happens when Douglas passes away and what happens to the ranch and between the 4 of them. Life is never what you thing it is at face value. What the boys thought they saw as a soiled Princess might not actually be what was really Tara. Tara on the other had despised her foster brothers for the places they had in her father’s life. Not fully understanding WHY it was they were there, not why she was where she ended up. A chance at redemption is a journal only discovered after death can set the record straight…one can hope.
This is the first book in the series and was a really good read I must admit I am a sucker for a good cowboy romance so this was just right for me. It was a good well-written book and is Tara and West’s story I really liked these two they should not have worked but they were just perfect for each other. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
A heart-warming and promising start to a new series! When Tara Rawlings goes home after her fathers death, she discovers the family ranch was left equally to her and her foster brothers. Both sides have viewed the other in the wrong light while growing up, making them butt heads now. I loved this story and it’s genuine message of “don’t judge a book by it’s cover”, which everyone needs reminded of once in a while. I can’t wait for the next book in the Redemption Ranch series!
The princess and the cowboy.
This book is full of preconceived notions that the characters have to work through. In this one you see the mistakes they are making it made the characters so much more like real humans with all the flaws. Wonderful job of writing! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This book is a story of misconceptions & second chances. Tara has come back to the ranch after her father passed away. The townspeople have already judged her & found her lacking since she hasn’t visited lately. West & the other foster boys call her the “Princess” because they felt she had it all – a terrific father & a fantastic home – & threw it all away. West & Tara have a lot to learn about each other.
I enjoyed this story because it really shows the importance of getting to know all about someone before you judge them. West thought Tara voluntarily left the ranch behind & that wasn’t the case at the beginning. Tara thought West & the others replaced her in her dad’s life while it was just what he was familiar with, other guys. As West grew to learn the truth about Tara & her life, he began to see how everyone judging her was affecting her. Did it make a difference? Did their chemistry enable them to get together or will her ex come back into her life?
Beautiful and compelling journey to facing regrets and finding your true home. Tara’s world has been shaken by divorce, betrayal and then death. She is a fighter, working her way through the pain while building her business. When she has to return to her childhood home, she must face the past and find a way to heal from her father pushing her away. When she learns that her father left the ranch to her and the three foster boys, he took in years ago, well, she feels betrayed even more. Why wouldn’t her dad want her to carry the family legacy of the ranch? West only knew abandonment and hurt as a child but one lucky break leads him to The Russell Ranch and a true home. He found his purpose working on the ranch and appreciated the relationship he had with Douglas, Tara’s dad. From day 1, he was told to stay away from Tara but he always had a crush on her. When she ends up back at the ranch, will he embrace the feelings and pursue a relationship with her? Now Tara is at a true crossroads, she has a love/hate relationship with the ranch. Will connecting with West and the other boys help her find her true purpose? These two drew me in and I felt the pain and hurt they had weathered over the years as they fought their way through to a brighter future on the other side. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
I loved A Cowboy’s Salvation! What a swoon worthy read, I just coudn’t get enough of hot, hunky Cowboy West and his two brothers. I also loved Tara, a sweet and passionate Interior Designer who’s father died and she had to make her way back to Montana. A great story, great setting and awesome characters. I’m looking forward to book 2 Coming Home to the Cowboy due out in September.
I give A Cowboy’s Salvation 5 stars for its swoon worthy read.
I would recommend this book to fans of Westerns and Romance.
A great start to Redemption Ranch series!
Everyone seems to have preconceived ideas of one another. Great character and storyline.
A must read.
This is the first book I’ve read by Megan Ryder and won’t be the last!
A new author to follow and read!!
Tara Rawlings is no stranger to struggles in life. This past year has been increasingly difficult for her when a phone at work makes it more so. This phone call brings a heartache from back home and West Morgan back into her life. This entire story just draws you in and makes you feel like you’re part of this incredible place. Your sure to love the characters and how they get a second chance at life, and love! 5 star read, can’t wait to see where the future takes Tara and West and all at the Redemption Ranch!
West Morgan came to the Double R Ranch as a teenager and was given a second chance at life by the owner, Douglas Rawlings, along with other troubled teens. The biggest rule that Douglas has was to stay away from his daughter, Tara.
Tara Rawlings had always hated the Double R Ranch that was her home. Her mother hated being there up until she got sick and died and all her father cared about was the ranch, and not her. Shortly after her mom’s death, her dad sent Tara away to boarding school. When she would come back for school breaks, every one ignored her so it wasn’t surprising that when Tara left for college, she never came back. Now that Tara’s life was in San Francisco she didn’t make it back to Montana much. Her ex-husband hated the place and it only brought sad memories back for Tara. After Tara’s divorce the past year has been really hard on her and she hadn’t actually talked to her father much so when she received word that he had passed away Tara was riddled with guilt.
Tara decides that she needs to head back to Montana for her father’s funeral and to settle the estate. Of course the first person Tara sees is West, the guy she always hated because he got all of her dad’s attention while at the same was always attracted to him. At first West, Ty and Chase are all hesitant around Tara. They never understood why she stayed away but slowly they start to come around. When the reading of the will takes place everyone is surprised to find out that Douglas left everything to Tara, West, Chase and Ty equally. Tara also finds out that the ranch is having some financial problems. As Tara and West start to spend more time together to save the ranch, it starts to get harder to not give in to their attraction….until finally they don’t! Just when it looks like Tara and West are finally going to get a happy ending, past insecurities come back to haunt them until finally they both realize what they must each do.
I really enjoyed Tara and West. They both had such baggage from their pasts that it hurting them moving forward in their futures. I also can’t wait to read the other’s stories!
