He’s visiting his buddy Ryker McGavin for the holidays, but when he discovers Hayley needs a guy she can present to her marriage-minded momma as her fiancé, he’s all in. Pretending to be her devoted boyfriend is a no-brainer. He can’t resist helping a beautiful damsel in distress.
But when the holiday ends, can he just walk away?

He met her at the departure gate. It started as a lie to keep her matchmaker off her neck. But changed. How was he going to convince her.
Very good story. I was drawn in at the departure gate.
Sweet and Sexy 4.5*
When it comes to jumping into the deep end with regard to a situation, that is the way Badger Calhoun always operates. His impulsive idea, to pretend to be in a committed relationship with a girl he has only just met, so that her mother won’t fix her up on awkward dates over the holiday period, makes perfect sense to him. His close buddy Ryker McGavin is convinced that it will all blow up in his face. The supposed relationship means Hayley and Badger spending a lot of time together and the chemistry between them, along with a matchmaking momma, escalates matters. Can a true relationship work between them however, when he lives in Atlanta and she in Denver? Plus Badger never opens up about his family; what secrets is he hiding?
Standalone story but you get to meet up with the McGavin’s as secondary characters.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.
Badger and Hayley are both faking it, or are they? They so smoothly slide into being in a fake relationship that it quickly has them questioning what they are doing. I like that the author doesn’t just focus on how Hayley is feeling but also how Badger is feeling. That’s the thing about the McGavin family and friends, the men are all man–real men have feelings and although Badger has secrets, his feelings for Hayley is not one of them. I love the way the fake relationship confession was written. Great chance meeting romance, Badger is a great catch and Hayley finally gets caught.
Delightful Read! Even though this is #6 it’s the first I have read. I loved reading a part of this series and look forward to reading more. It’s easy and had a few twists to make the story interesting.
It was nice Christmas romance sometimes I wish I was there in the town this author wrote about. I enjoy enjoy read this book
Great book – easy read!
Loved every bit of the story
What a great book. I loved Badger every since he popped in front of the video chat Ryker had with his mom in book 1.
This was a hysterical book. When Hayley and Badger meet on the plane there both headed for the same place. Hayley is not looking forward to anymore of her mothers matchmaking. But what Badger proposes will either be good or it won’t.
Badger is spending time with his buddy Ryker McGavin for the holidays.
He sure didn’t expect him and Hayley to fit so well together, but they did.
Highly recommend
Fell in love with the characters and funny situations.
I have come to love this series of the McGavin brothers. Brave and honorable men back home in Eagle’s Nest making a life and finding their significant others.
Ryker McGavin’s friend and silent partner of Badger Aviation, has come to visit him. Badger meets Hayley at the Denver airport . They end up sitting together on their flight to Eagle’s Nest. Hayley wants to visit her family but her mother’s matchmaking attempts are making her dread the visit. Badger offers to be her “fake” boyfriend so she is not harassed. But as we know , the best laid plans tend to go haywire, and this one certainly does. Especially as the story gets complicated and feelings are starting to develop.
The story was engaging and both the main characters , as well as the secondary characters, like her parents, were well developed. It’s a stand alone story, but if you have read the previous books, you get a chance to catch up on the lives of those characters.
A nice addition for the holiday season or anytime of the year.
I was gifted this copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I love Vicki Lewis Thompson. She’s one of my most favorite authors. She makes everyone want a cowboy of their very own. This was a great addition to the series.
a great series to read!!
