Twelve years ago, equestrian Olympic hopeful Olivia Canaday and her best friend, Jake Lassen, made a pinky-swear promise to reunite at the Big Marietta Fair on her thirtieth birthday and marry each other if they were both still single. But that was before they grew up and went their separate ways.
Now, after a disastrous divorce and a career-changing accident, Olivia limps home, minus her mojo, … her mojo, her courage and her faith in love. She retreats to her parents’ ranch, determined to play it safe, but when ex-Army helicopter pilot Jake Lassen arrives to make good on their promise, he reignites passion and hope, two things Olivia had forgotten existed.
Olivia resolves to keep Jake at arm’s length, even though the memory of his kisses keeps her up at night. She knows better than to let her heart get involved, but Jake is planning for the future. Their future. Can Jake convince her to risk it all one more time and really make this a fair to remember?

Easy enjoyable reading
Nice story line.
Although the premise is familiar, get ready for a delightful spin. The characters are so fun, you’ll find yourself slowing down to savor every word of witty dialogue and hesitating to turn the page because you’ll hate to see them go. The great plot and thoughtful pacing will keep you moving forward because you just have to discover what happens next. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for a fun and entertaining read.
Love story with a twist
I loved the quirky humor in the correspondence between the characters, it set a light-hearted tone for the book. A quick easy, feel good read.
Liked it
It was obvious from the trailer that they would get back together. Slow to happen and more dialogue then actual reunion scences. Good read.
It was a sweet story but a little too steamy for my taste.
Jake and Olivia grew up together as best friends. A hot kiss as teens and a promise that if neither is attached by her 30th birthday they would marry each other.
Fast forward years later and the attraction is still strong but they both have their own issues they are getting through that holds them back.
A little angsty but a feel good story and HEA.
It took me a good chapter to get used to the third person point of view which is just different than what I am used to reading.
It was an enjoyable story but many places were jumpy and inconsistent. Another’s character’s name will come into the scene and makes you question if you missed them being there to begin with which is not the case. Or a character is introduced as Mrs…. then changes to their first name only in reference of making it sound like a different character. Just confusing. This is what mainly caused the lower rating.
If you can get past those inconsistencies then you will enjoy the overall book. I didn’t regret it but I was happy it was over.
A pinky-swear promise 12 years ago becomes a reality in this fun easy to read story with very believable characters.
High school sweethearts find their way back together after 12 years apart
This book was an OK read. The characters were pleasant but the plot was much too predictable from the very beginning.
