I always enjoy my trips to Marietta,MT by way of Barbara Ankrum. The stories she tells leave me feeling better and wanting more.
fun read
A Cowboy to Keep is the fourth book in the The Canadays of Montana series. Running from her past, Ali ends up in Marietta. After pawning her prized possession, she finds herself making a deal with a rancher. Will she be able to hide from her past? Or will the ranch not be enough to keep her hidden? What else may she find? This story was one of those you just cannot put down. I highly recommend it!
I truly enjoyed A Cowboy to Keep by Barbara Ankrum, the fourth book in her Canadays of Montana series. Drifter Ali Thibeaux arrives in Marietta to find her biological half-sister and photograph Olivia’s wedding. All before Ali can be found by her stalker and endanger those around her. There is much more to Adam Wolfe than being a rancher with burn scars. He hires Ali to manager his household, cook and help with his fourteen year old niece, Carrie. Ali is not deterred by Adam’s scars and lets him know. Also, she is able to relate and understand Carrie as she too lost her mother at a similar age. Adam believes that Ali is not telling the entire truth about her situation and tries to learn the truth before it’s too late. There is definitely chemistry and attraction between these two who are unsure about acting on it. Ali trusts no one and is torn about trusting Adam.
I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. Ms. Ankrum is a wonderful storyteller and she drew me into this story, not letting me go until I read the last page. I definitely recommend this book to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

The Canadays of Montana #4
I love meeting new minds by reading new-to-me authors and I truly did enjoy reading this book. I came into the series later than I like to BUT had no trouble following the story or meeting people that no doubt have been introduced previously. I like this author’s style and look forward to reading more of her work in the future.
So…in this story Ali is on the run BUT she also wants to at least look in on the only family she has left – family that has no idea she exists. She has just been disappointed trying to reclaim something she pawned so heads off to find out if there is a way to appeal to the person who purchased the item that is one of her last ties to her mother and in so doing she is offered a job she cannot refuse – for a number of reasons. Who offered her the job? Adam Wolfe. Adam is a rancher but oh so much more than that. He has taken in his niece, has completely changed his line of work, is scarred (in more ways than one) and a wonderful person underneath it all. Carrie, the niece, has suffered great losses in her lifetime and has much to work through. With Ali and Adam she is able to eventually emerge a bit at a time from underneath the heavy weight she is carrying. Of course the bad guy is still lurking in the background, Ali’s family is still clueless and there is romance building.
Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.
