I love these books and this was an awesome and emotional read. Seren and Brian had secretly been seeing one another because of a promise Seren had made with her sister, Sorrel, to not get involved with any cowboys. They broke up twice before but then they went public. Seren never showed emotion but when Brian lies to her, the tears do fall. This has a very well written storyline and wonderful characters that are so realistic. When the uncertainties and doubts creep in, you can feel the turmoil in their hearts. A clean and wholesome read. Can’t wait to read Sorrel and Theo’s story, the last of the Adams sisters.

Will she choose him or the promise she made when she was young
A Cowboy and his Secret Kiss is the seventh book in the Chestnut Ranch Cowboy Billionaire Romance series and is about Brian Gray and Serendipity “Seren” Adams. He is a cowboy on the Chestnut Ranch and she is the youngest of the Adams siblings. They have been in a secret relationship for the past couple of months sneaking around to spend time together but not being seen in public with each other. Well that come to a head one when he had enough and decided to end things, maybe deep down hoping that she would come to the realization that she wanted to be with him. So things did not quite go that way and even though several months have passed he is still thinking about her and his feelings have not gone away. What Brian did not know was that Seren had wanted to keep things a secret because of a promise she had made to her older sister. It seems that Sorrell had once been involved with a cowboy but instead of riding off into the sunset together he dumped her faster than a bucking bull and had really made her hate cowboys. So it was not that Seren did not like/love Brian it was that the promise to her sister was there and Sorrell still did not like or trust cowboys.
So the real issue is whether Seren can be an adult and put her own feelings for Brian ahead of the promise she had made to Sorrell years ago. But will Brian still be there for her if she does?
I thought this was a good book but did have some frustrating moments while reading it. Having not read all of the previous books in this series I was a bit lost at times. Plus the use of very similar names for the three Adams’ sisters was confusing and I almost had to make a chart to keep everyone straight. But the story-line had moments where it was sweet, fun and entertaining when I did not want to tell Seren to “snap out of it and make your own decisions”. I felt for Brian as he was such a sweet, loving and loyal man who had fallen for Seren but was confused and hurt by her not wanting to let others know that they were together.
This novel had a lot of good moments, a lot of sweet moments, and a lot of amazing moments that just brought a warm smile to my face; however, there were the times were it would lull and I would think about placing it down in favor of another, but in the end I’m glad I stuck it out and finished it.
Seren and Brian have a time of expressing their feelings to one another due to baggage from their past. Their on and off relationship is both tiring and confusing, until they both decide the best way forward for themselves. A real emotional rollercoaster.
This is only the second book that I have read from this author but I certainly enjoyed it just as much as the previous episode in the Chestnut Ranch series. Looking forward to the next book and in the meantime the previous books will be going into my TBR shelf

I can honestly say this book did not disappoint. The characters are well developed and engaging. With undeniable chemistry. The storyline had substance and flowed easily.

I really did not understand any of the reasoning behind the decisions made by these sisters and that totally ridiculous pact all because one sister had been heartbroken by a cowboy at some point. Did. Not. Make. Sense. At. All!! That is not sisterly love, that is manipulation! Seren and Brian were okay but not very exciting. I kept waiting for Brian to confront the middle sister. whatever her name was (the names were too similar to keep them straight) and put an end to the whole silly pact for good once he actually found out about it. That took way too long IMO. Eventually, there is a HEA but Brian should have taken the chance when he had it and moved on to someone else who would see and appreciate him for all the facets of his personality and everything that had made him who he was as a person. This book was not up to the normally good writing capability of Emmy Eugene and I am not sure if I want to read any more about these sisters in future books.

I loved Brian and Serendipity’s story. This is a sweet, clean addition to a wonderful series. Loved getting to see characters from the previous books in the series also. Keep the wonderful stories coming!!

While I like the story over all I find it very difficult to warm to these sisters. There is a great deal of baggage and drama involved and it’s hard to believe that a good man would stick around . Toward the end of this book the woman seem to be more likeable. Don’t give up on the book it is worth a complete read.
If you like cowboy romances, you’ll love this book. A sweet, heartwarming story line and characters you can’t help but fall in love with. The story line flows smoothly, captivates you and holds your interest til the end. A great read for those summer evenings.

Seren can’t be with Brian openly. She’s afraid to talk to Sorrell about their promise – to not fall for a cowboy – and she feels like she doesn’t know how to be a good girlfriend. Brian breaks up with her because he can’t stand keeping their relationship a secret, and he’d also like to move forward and be more serious with her. Brian sends her a text at Sarena and Darren’s vow renewal, and they agree to meet and start seeing each other again. But she still needs to be secretive. The story was up and down with the emotions. Seren has never had a serious relationship before. Brian was married, but his ex-wife cheated, so he has trust issues. I do like the characters, and was rooting for them to find their happy place. This is not my favorite book, but it held my interest throughout.

Brian and Seren are an interesting couple, Seren has a few “Issues” I don’t feel this author dove deep enough to tell us exactly WHY these sisters in this series have these issues, OK so there is heart break in their pasts, but at some point we need to move forward. This book is showing us how Seren tries to do this. Brian also has his own baggage, which is enough to make him not like keeping their relationship a secret. They have a lot to work through, and it is interesting and fun to see if and how they can. This book is part of a series, but it does not have a cliff hanger and you can read it alone and wouldn’t NEED to read about either of the other two sisters, but I’d recommend them all. They are clean and interesting and sweet

Brian and Serendipity have been sneaking around to see each other with out her sisters knowing. This family of women mostly raised by their father are quite backwards around men. Loved reading it and look forward to the next book to finish the series

Serendipity claimed she wasn’t emotional, but there was a lot of arguing and back and forth in her secret and then not-so-secret relationship with Brian. They both jump to conclusions and make assumptions about the other based on their responses. She has low self esteem when it comes to men and his ex-wife cheated on him, so he emotional issues too. They should have looked into couples therapy. I thought it was cool that she was a park ranger and that he worked with dogs, in particular his former police dog Queen on her training to assist on the ranches. This was clean, emotional romance with some funny, sweet, and exasperating moments.
This is book 7 in the chestnut ranch cowboy billionaire romance series. Brian and serendipity are very attracted to each other but misunderstandings keep them apart. Will they ever get their HEA?

Brian Gray is a cowboy who has been “sneaking off” with Serendipity Adams for a couple of months because she wants to keep their dating a secret. Holding her hand is nice, but he wants to make their relationship public and to move forward. He doesn’t need the secrecy anymore. So he breaks up with her.
Serendipity didn’t tell him that she had made a promise to her middle sister who had some heartbreak with cowboys that she would never date one. But she wants Brian back. How can she keep her promise and still have a relationship with the man she misses in her life?
I think there is a ton of frustration in this story with various causes. It wasn’t a comfortable book to read, certainly didn’t feel loving, and even the sisters’ names sounding too much alike had me momentarily confused. Serendipity’s reason to hide her relationship was nonsense. I’m just surprised that Brian didn’t drop her completely and permanently, which would have been the most logical step. As I’ve mentioned before in reviews, when the reader doesn’t develop rapport or like the characters right from the start or soon thereafter, by the time the story line moves us to the start where they change, we may no longer care.
While this reader has enjoyed Eugene’s previous books, this one was disappointing. Serendipity and Brian have tried dating a couple of times. She wanted to keep it on the down low; he didn’t. After months apart being miserable, they try again. Their relationship was too tedious and complicated for this reader. Some developments in the storyline don’t seem to fit the characters (e.g. when Brian lies to Seren) and the event that catapults the ending too simplistic. I hope the next book in this series is like earlier books, and not more of the same as this one!

I enjoyed this next book in the saga. We got to see more of most of the characters and especially the sisters. There was a theme of commitment and priorities. I enjoyed the characters and I’m super pumped for the next book.

Serendipity, Seren for short, was having a secret relationship with Brian, but it did not work for him and they broke up. However, they both were still wanting to date each other. She has made a silly vow with her sister not to date. She had bad luck in relationships. He was divorced and was secretly a billionaire who had developed and sold apps. They had a lot of baggage that interfered with their relationship. Will they be able to finally work things out?
