She didn’t know she actually liked cowboys…

Brian and Serendipity dated for a while in secret because she did not want anyone to know about their relationship so six months ago he broke it off with her. When he sees her at a wedding he text her that he missed her and to meet him at their old meeting place. This is a story about two emotional damaged people who are struggling to come to terms with moving on and trusting someone with their heart.
Such realistic characters.
Serendipity and her sister are something else one is married to one of the brothers at Chestnut Ranch and in Seren’s heart there is another brother who she has her heart set on. Brian was sneaking off with Serendipity that is until he broke it off. Can Serendipity face going public with their relationship and what about the promise she made? The author wrote such realistic characters in this piece. I can see just how hard it would be for a sister who made a promise to back out of it and yet know that if she did not it could end future happiness. I like how the author wrote her characters showing all their weakness and strength she made them feel real. This was a good piece and I hope you check it out. After the deaths of their parents, Serenity’s never really come to terms with how she feels about everything that’s happened, that means she’s got a lot of baggage to unpack. Brian’s ex left him with some emotional scars of his own. Will this pair discover how to heal together, or will their wounds keep them pushing each other away? This book is a bit of an emotional roller-coaster, it just seems to have a few more lows than highs. All of the things this pair are dealing with, both individually and as a couple, just about broke my heart. I wanted to see these two get their happily ever after. I’m sure part of it was the way Seren’s suppressing her emotions, but I didn’t really feel much passion from the pair or connection between them. Their happy ending felt like it came too easily. I didn’t see the emotional growth in Seren I thought was necessary, and I didn’t like that it was always Brian who was shown doing the “work” in their relationship. I’m anxious to get my hands on the next book though. I’m desperate to find out how that pairing turns out.

This is a well written book that holds your attention. The story is fast paced and keeps you turning the pages. The author brought the book to life with her words. The characters in the story feel like your friends This book and the entire series were a joy to read and I look forward to reading the next book in this series. You don’t want to miss this book. I received an ARC copy of this book and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I started reading this book, and it honestly took me a while to sort out the sisters. Sarena, Seren, Sorrell, and then throw a Serenity in to add to the confusion. One hurdle cleared.
This book was ok. Just ok. I didn’t like Seren or Sorrell. What was it about these sisters that was so broken they seemed completely unable to function in a relationship? I didn’t understand. I felt like I was missing some vital element of the book that would explain this to me.
I read romance to relax and escape. Maybe it was just me, but the level of dysfunction these sisters shared was just depressing. Not much about this book made me feel good, made me smile, or made me happy. There were moments (and I mean 2-3 max) when Brian and Seren were together where I could see the potential for a sweet uplifting romance. Then those moments would fall flat on their face.
Even when they finally reached their HEA, I found no joy or happiness in it. I only felt like Brian should run away as fast as he could. Brian got more love, support, and emotion from queen than from Seren. Brian and Seren’s relationship felt like it had disaster written all over it. I kept waiting for the next shoe to drop, but the book ended. I won’t even bother to mention poor Theo.
While we are here, what is wrong with these desperate men who want to be in love so badly that they keeping going after the princesses of dysfunction? Why do they keep doing that to themselves?
I couldn’t bring myself to go with 2 stars. The writing wasn’t terrible. The story just evoked such feelings of sadness, hopelessness, frustration, irritation, and depression. Seren and Sorrell seemed to have some type of co-dependent relationship that was not healthy. I think because the book made me feel some type of way instead of nothing at all, I will go with 2.5 stars.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via Booksprout.
I have totally enjoyed this series and have been looking forward to Brian and Serendipity’s story. The cowboys of Chestnut Ranch have not had an easy ride to romance and happily ever after. Seren’s self esteem is at rock bottom and she feels she has nothing to offer compared to her sisters, Serena and Sorrell. If only she could see herself from her sisters’ point of view. Brian has the patience of a saint but even he has reached the end. If you read many of my reviews you know I spend a lot of time yelling at the characters. Emmy Eugene has gotten me that involved with her characters. In fact she might have gotten past yelling to wanting to pick up Seren and shaking her. This book is so much fun to read and I enjoyed it.
This a wellwritten and fastpaced story that captivated me from the start. The storyline is entertaining and actionpacked. The characters are wonderful. Can not wait for the next book in this series.
A romance in the shadows. Seren really likes her cowboy boyfriend Brian but she must keep him a secret. Her middle sister has been hurt by cowboys and Seren tells her she will never date one. That is until she likes Brian. What can she do?

I read this book virtually straight through. I’m really enjoying this author and how she weaves a tale with her slightly broken characters. The frustrating part was that I wanted to yell and shake the main characters at times – and that I think comes from good storytelling. Very keen to read the remaining sister’s story.

Stubborn girls are worth the chase….

Brian wasn’t a horny teen anymore he was a grown man so no he wasn’t going to sneak around to see her.
He honestly couldn’t understand why he couldn’t pick her up at the front door or the fact she was hiding the fact they’d been dating from her sisters.
So they’d only last just shy of two months when he’d said no more.
Now she was sitting several rows in front of him driving him crazy this was pure torture it been months since he’d walked away and he was still hung up on her.
Finally Brian sent her a simple text now the ball was in her court as to whether she answered him or not.
Holding his breath he glanced at his phone wow she wanted to see him.
Seren hadn’t necessarily wanted to keep the fact she’d been seeing Brian a secret however years ago she’d sworn to her sister Sorrell that she wouldn’t date cowboys and for years that had been just fine. Seren really liked Brian and she honestly wanted to date him.
Brian had waited along time for this moment and wow what a kiss.
But he needed to know the truth about why she’d been so dead set against opening dating and if that was what she was expecting this time around.
Seren, needed to explain about her sister Sorell and her poor broken heart that had been shattered by a cowboy.
He got the sinking feeling where this unfortunately was heading nowhere just like the last time yep he should have stayed home with the dog.
Seren realized trying to talk to Sorrell about their promise on never dating was like talking to a pretty brick wall and very stubborn one.
Brian never wanted Seren to think he was hiding anything from her especially when it came to his past he’d been very fortunate he’d been a tech geek who made more money then he’d ever know what to do with and he really only was working now because he enjoyed it.
Seren really couldn’t understand what he saw in her because she really didn’t have a clue.
The hardest part about telling someone about yourself is being vulnerable she’d been hurt and made fun of by someone in her past and now she was scared.
They always seemed to take two steps forward and three steps back but seriously he felt like he was in a competition with her sister Sorrell for her attention and he always ended up with the short straw.
They were both miserable and everyone knew it Brian couldn’t believe when the oldest sister kept pestering him about a job and to tell him to stop being a stupid idiot and to call Seren.
All he needed was to reach out again but would she shot him down or maybe this time there figure things out.
