They were married for two months. She lost their baby…or so he thought.Rex Johnson knows he’s the loudest brother. He doesn’t even try to hide it, because he has plenty of other secrets he’s never told anyone. Not his parents. Not his brothers. No one.I was only married for four months. No one needs to know. Especially because it was five years ago, and Rex hasn’t heard from Holly Roberts since … Rex hasn’t heard from Holly Roberts since she left for work one day and never came back to their apartment. She filed for divorce the next day, and Rex’s whole world fell apart.
One day at a time…
He’s done a decent job of putting himself back together after he returned to Chestnut Springs and the family ranch. But when he has a chance encounter with a little girl after his brother’s wedding, he comes face-to-face with Holly again.
Oh no. And who is that girl?
Holly’s terrified to tell Rex that the little girl is their daughter, but she does. In and out of treatment facilities, Holly’s been suffering from depression and doing the best she can as a mom. She’s been slowly putting her life back together one piece at a time, and when Rex tells her if she leaves Chestnut Springs, he’ll call the cops, she decides to stay.
It’s time to stop running anyway.
Can Holly and Rex reconcile their differences and build a family with their daughter?

This was the best book in the series yet. Until I read this book, I loved Seth and Jenna’s story the best although all the books in this series have been awesome. I love how the author writes an intense story but keeps it clean. I love how things worked for Rex, Holly, and Sarah. If you love clean, contemporary cowboy romance, you will love this book and series.

I liked this book. I loved finding out what’s behind Rex’s behavior. And I adored the very careful way the author handled a subject most people won’t talk about. But there’s a point in the story where it completely lost me. I’m confused by how Rex became the bad guy in the middle of everything. With his family, I get it. These were some mighty big revelations that no one saw coming, so I understand how they could see him as the “bad guy” for that. (The following may be considered spoiler-y by some. I’m trying to keep it vague enough not to ruin the plot for future readers. You have been warned, proceed with caution.) But when Holly turns the tables and says his lack of trust has nothing to do with her; that’s where I was looking for a map and a compass, going “what?!” Maybe it has to do with the length of the book. Maybe there wasn’t enough room to fully show Holly earning back his trust, but I was fully on team Rex here. There’s no message left for him or with any of his family and he’s not allowed to jump to conclusions based on their shared history? I didn’t like that Holly forced an apology from him, and internally gloats about it, and refused to acknowledge the part she played in creating the situation. After that, he’s walking and talking on eggshells to avoid upsetting her. That’s not a stable relationship. Up to that point, I was deeply invested in the story and loving everything about it. Afterwards, it took some of the shine off my enjoyment of the rest of the book.

Book four in the Chestnut Ranch Cowboy Billionaire Romance series a well written story that held my interest until the end. Rex Johnson has been keeping a secret from his family the last five years, and that secret just walked back into his life with a little girl. I enjoyed reading Rex and Holly’s story, and seeing how she deals with her depression and anxiety.I want to read more in this series. Complex issues done well.
Can you imagine how hard it would be to find out the child you thought had been lost, then to find that the child had really been born? Plus not till you were face to face with the woman you married do you learn the truth. It had to be hard on Rex when Holly had just up and left but now perhaps it was even harder to deal with everything. I admire Rex this character was willing to take on fatherhood right from the start. Holly, on the other hand, is a mess in an out of rehab due to depression. This story tackles some major issues and did it pretty well. It was not an easy read for anyone who has known or has suffered from the same disorder but it is one that I would recommend reading. Holly married Rex and she got pregnant. She up and disappears after saying she lost her baby. She was struggling with depression and anxiety, but she never told Rex. Rex never told his family about Holly and they were not invited to the wedding. Five years later, Rex runs across Holly with a five year old child, whom he knows is his little girl. Rex is very angry and Holly is very embarrassed. He tells her not to go anywhere and if she does, he will call the police. From there, he gets to know his precious little Sarah and introduces Holly and Sarah to his family. He buys Holly and Sarah a house and Holly gets a job. She shares with Rex her deepest secrets about her mental illness. Will they work all things out or will his over-reaction to her leaving to visit her mother derail things.

This story is one sweet feel good romance. No villains but different elements non the less. It has a good storyline and good characters. This is the first story in this series of these brothers that I am reading but it made me wish that I had started with the first one. So overall I loved this one and am happy to give it four stars.

Rex and Holly were married until she disappeared without a word, besides divorce papers. This is their reconnection story. Rex has a lot of anger to work through. Holly has some mental/ medical issues she hid from Rex; It was a good storyline until it dropped without resolution. Even a pivotal conversation with her therapist was not discussed when others were. There was also no real resolution with her mother.

Such a great read. I’m really enjoying this series and loved Rex and Holly’s story. A great second chance romance . I’m anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.
Really loved this second chance at love!
Emmy Eugene is a super writer. This book really tells a story of a divorced young couple. It is different than what you think it would be. The people have grown up and run into each other again. The characters really show their feelings and of course, there is the child. This takes you a ride of feelings that you never thought would be there. You just want to help them get rid of their past and make them move ahead. You talk about a story line that throws you all over, this is one. Definitely recommend this book.

This was a great story of second chance at love for Rex and Holly. I have loved reading about the other brothers and how they found there happy ending. This book did not disappoint it the storyline.

I really enjoyed the characters. I loved the way Sarah was so accepting of Rex being her Dad. I could understand Rex’s anger, but I could also understand why everything occurred.
I both surprised and glad to read that mental health was being talked about in a real way, as something to be dealt with every day. So often, if it is mentioned as an issue, the person will go to a couple of counseling sessions, and then the problem disappears.
The other thing that surprised me was that Rex had some issues of his own when he and Holly got married, and I never did get a clear picture of what he felt the way he did, or did what he did. It didn’t make much sense to me.
It also didn’t make sense about why he was against Sarah being tested. This book was pretty fast paced but it was engaging. If you like small town, cowboy billionaire romances with minimal heat and no sex, this is a good book to try.

Very emotional wonderful story of two people who deserve a second chance.
A lot of growing up and mental healing has happened since their very short marriage resulted in a beautiful child. All of the emotional drama and obvious love will keep you turning the pages until you reach the HEA.
Excellent, Wonderful, Marvelous! I adore everything about this novel and the way that it inspired my faith. I felt the characters struggles and trails as if they were my own. I prayed for them and wept with them. These emotions brought on means that no one will be disappointed if they decide to give this novel a chance! ***** could have spoilers *****
Surprised when it’s the guy who keeps the unsuccessful marriage a secret. He is frustrated and angry not knowing why she just left. It’s an unexpected shock when she is back with a baby she said she lost. I can personally tell you that you will never fully understand mental illness unless you have it. Kudos to this author who has brought this disease out in the open. She has worked hard to be at a manageable level. He takes to his baby and proves himself to be a good father. It’s hard to go from anger to forgiveness and acceptance, and he does. Nicely written and has more emotion than is usual. It hit home.

Totally not what I was expecting for Rex’s story. That said, it was amazing! I loved it. Wonderful characters. I can’t wait for the final installment in this series! These books have all been amazing and I cannot wait to see what she write next!!

I really enjoyed this story. When Rex is surprised after his brother’s wedding with his ex-wife ad her (ad his) daughter his life tilted wildly. He was angry, hurt and astonished to find out he was a father. The whole story worked around his struggles learning to be a father and how to forgive Holly after lying to him for so long. Sarah was so sweet and good natured and loved her daddy almost from the first day. The characters both had flaws that they worked on to overcome and Rex had to learn to listen to Holly about her illness. A very good book in this series. Can’t wait for Griffin’s story
