Please let there be more after this!!! Don’t want it to ever end
Sarah A Maas never disappoints. Once again she has written a wonderful book. Read it!
An excellent conclusion to the trilogy that I call “The Feysand Chronicles”.
I’m glad it didn’t take most of the book to conclude the storyline that started at the end of book two. I was very concerned about how drawn out it could potentially be but it was summed up reasonably quickly.
My favourite parts were seeing more of the other Courts and officially meeting the other High Lords.
I was completely blown away by the various battle scenes throughout the book. They were each unique enough that it didn’t feel repetitive.
I’m very happy to have read this series. I hope you all read it too; but keep those tissues handy when you read this book. I’m not ashamed to admit that I was ugly crying more than once.
Overall, this third installment of the series was underwhelming, but I very much enjoyed it despite this, and the culmination of events lead up to a great finish. It’s made clear that this isn’t the last we will see of this great group of characters, and that more potential problems are to come before true peace in this land can be established. When you consider this, that this may only be “part one” of a war, I can see why the author wrote out the events in the way that she did with the pacing that she chose. Almost like she was trying not to drag out some things for too long, while also providing enough context and character development in some areas (areas that some readers complained were boring) so that it would set up events to come. But I’ve also read the ToG series, and I tried very hard not to compare the two series, but this ACOTAR series has so far not quite held up to the ToG series.
The writing however, along with character development, world building and plot were still amazing. Sarah J. Maas is a genius in my eyes and I don’t think she could write something I won’t enjoy. And if we are comparing this to the ToG series, I actually so appreciated how different the characters and story lines are, and at the end of the day, I would choose to live in the Night Court over Terrasen any day.
Overall, I loved this series, but when it comes to a re-read, I will only be picking up ACOMAF and ACOWAR. The first book is a one and done for me, and might only reference some parts if I really need to.
Lastly, for those who said Rhysand was too perfect and wasn’t realistic, BITE ME. If he’s been alive for 500 years or more and I just found out he’s my mate, I would hope that he’s more perfect than most BECAUSE of how long he’s lived and how many experiences he’s been through already. So it makes sense that he would know and have the wisdom to say the right things. Just saying…
I absolutely recommend this series, I could but any of the books down.
After book 2 I leapt straight into this book, eager for a conclusion.
But…I was a little disappointed.
A Court of Mist And Fury was definitely the best book of this series.
By now, the non-stop vomiting is just beyond the pale. Enough already! There are other PTSD symptoms.
Rhys and Feyre are united, then one of them disappears without telling anyone and are in danger. And repeat.
If my Hubby had such poor communication with me…let’s just say it wouldn’t end well!
These two are putting their lives on the line and have a bond – let’s talk, eh?
Yeah, Feyre is still pretty self-absorbed. Did she actually have a good look in that mirror? Sure?
‘My sister is struggling, oh well, I’ll leave someone else or herself to deal with that’. Alrighty then!?
She has all these powers – maybe use them in the battles? Develop more after the first attack? I was so chuffed for her in that moment of heroism. Oh, she’s actually fighting for others – she’s growing. (*fizzled hope*)
Tamlin – the guy had anger issues but didn’t deserve the bad rep he gets in this book.
I’m all for gay representation, but please don’t twist a heterosexual into a homosexual to do it (*sigh*). 500 years of lying to a close friend just to avoid an awkward conversation and with no hint in previous books? Hmmm…nope, not in keeping with that character.
And there were a lot of loose ends to tie up.
So many characters are added that I ended up losing track of some.
tbh, I kinda wanted someone to actually die in battle. I mean, they all seem so hellbent on doing so, it’d only be right.
HOWEVER, all that being said, I was gripped. I needed to know what would happen. And how.
There were parts which had my emotions wrung out.
3.5* for this one.
Disappointing when the last book got a rare 5* from me.
GUT WRENCHING GOOD. I loved this book. FEYSAND FOR LIFE <3 Sarah, you successfully ripped open my heart. I feel so so so attached to these characters and I loved every second of this book. I loved the way it progressed. I loved the way it made me happy, sad, angered. It was a great "ending" to this series.
Best series ever.
Read it over and over!!!
Mist and Fury is still my favorite book ever, but this is an amazing follow up! It provides the action and emotional punch that is needed for these wonderful characters.
Feyre and Rhys are dealing with the impeding war among their world gathering all of their allies agains their biggest eneny Hybern. An incredible conclusion to the trilogy that leaves us all wanting more. I CAN’T WAIT TO FIND OUT ABOUT HOW ELUCIEN GETS TOGETHER AND HOPEFULLY SOON!!!
Always rereading this feels like coming home.
Upon a second reread, I have discovered that I don’t love Feyre as much as I thought I did and tbh I wanted her and Rhys to fight about his self-sacrificing bullshit…but now I love Lucien even more.
This series was AMAZING. I absolutely positively loved all 3 books I was blown away by the detail in every single page. I felt all the emotions (even the steamy ones ;P!!!!). Honestly this has to be one of my top favorite series I’ve ever read! I know she has more books and I am DEFINETLY going to binge read them all if they are as good as these 3!
Guys, THE BOOKS ARE AMAZING! I am a hardcore critic but honestly I cannot think of anything that I can say negative about the books.
Maybe (SPOILERS) just MAYBE he ending of A Court of Wings and Ruin (Book 3 last one) where I wish I got more of a happy ending for the others as well…
Other than that this is a solid 5/5 for me 🙂
Side note: I know she has some sort of extra book called a Court of Frost and Starlight but after reading so many negative reviews I am actually going to pass on that. I loved this series so much I don’t want to taint it >.< Can anyone give me another awesome book recommendation like this one?! PLEASE T_T
I honestly don’t think that anyone could have told this story better than Maas did. I was emotionally invested in this series, which I honestly wasn’t expecting. I thought that I wouldn’t like it as much as I could have because I’m so late to the party, but I was wrong. This series has easily become one of my top favorites, and I couldn’t be happier.
SO many unexpected things happened. I didn’t see any of it coming. You thought you knew how this was going to play out, then you get sideswiped with a twist. Then you play on that and think you have it planned out, but you get hit with a twist again. I LOVED IT!! It kept me on my toes and left the future blurry. This is definitely one of the reasons why this is my favorite book so far out of the first three.
This book has at least one tear-jerking moment. It was an emotional whirlwind. Since I was prompted to feel strong emotions while reading, I was able to separate this book from a good book to a fantastic book. Nothing is better to me than being able to feel certain emotions because of reading.
We see friendships and other kinds of relationships strain and mend back together. We see how each character handles pressure and sacrifices. We see relationships grow and become stronger, all throughout the book. It is definitely a strong book to end the first books with since it has everything I think a good book should have. It comes almost full-circle, allowing room for more books to follow. It also has strong character growth and development, it’s entertaining, easy-to-read, original, and allows us to meet more characters (ones we have heard of before and ones we haven’t).

There are some unanswered questions that I hope are answered in the next books. These include: Where is Bryaxis? Why didn’t Nesta show as much love toward Feyre as she did Elain? What is going on with the queens? Do the humans and fae end up coming together? What happens to Tamlin and the Spring court? How are the other courts handling the aftermath of the war? What happened to the humans they gave shelter to?
– Spoilers over –
I love this hangover I know I will be in for a looong while. I wish it didn’t end so soon and that the other books in this series were already out. I hate waiting XD
I absolutely love this series and love these characters. That being said I enjoyed this book, although it didn’t capture my heart like A Court of Mist and Fury did. None the less, I’m glad to have gotten the closure I so desperately needed after book 2! It tied up most of the loose ends (not all of course ;)), but still left me wanting more!
Amazing! So captivating!
Absolutely my favorite series!!
Sarah J Maas is one of my favorite authors. I fell in love with her world building in her Throne of Glass series. There was never any question about if I would like this series. Rhys is a fantastic hero. Some of the best characters
This was utterly breathtaking for so many reasons!! At times it was frightening and sorrowful. Feyre darling was equal parts of savior and destroyer. Rhys was worthy to a fault. Tamlin personified trickery and yet he still surprised me. There are so many lose threads left undone. So many burning questions still swirling about in my mind. I’m longing for more because I simply cannot let go of these beloved characters. I hope to learn more of what awaits them next. The world building was phenomenal and those intricate details just created one mesmerizing series that you’ll need to read again and again. Ms. Maas is a master storyteller. Her words are so very vivid and take flight up from their pages. I’d absolutely read anything by her. She certainly sets quite the example of how this craft ought to be done
No words for how i feel about this book. Its just amazing. Its taken me on a ride through heaven yet dragged my emotions through the mud.. I never knew i had emotional depth till i read this book, It just made me feel amazing, highly recommend this series.

I might have actually passed into the afterlife and am writing this review from there. This book destroyed me that much. This book had my heart pumping the whole time! (Until the end came and I may have died from shock, joy, surprise, everything.) I am just glad to know that the series isn’t over and that there will be more coming.
If there is one thing that Sarah J. Maas is good at, it is plot building. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was fae herself, her magic being that over words and stories. The way that she weaves details into her series is genius. You may not think that something is important in the first book and then BAM! It shows up in the last book or throughout the rest of the series and it blows you away. She is a damn good architect of stories. She throws so many plot twists at you and there are surprises and she reveals them at the best moments. G-E-N-I-U-S, ya’ll.
Another thing that she is great at is character development. I loved all my darlings in this series. Every single one of them. And one thing that I really adore about Maas’s character development is that the side or background characters become so much more than that. They become the heart of the story, right along with the main characters. They aren’t just there for filler or for a specific plot point. They belong there. Not in just one part of the story, but in the story as a whole. The way that I come to love all of the side characters and background characters proves what a great storyteller Maas is.
I didn’t think that the world building could get better in the third book of the series, but it did! Oh my goodness, we get to see some of the other courts and get to know their High Lords. I LOVED it! I really hope that we get to see more of the other courts in the next books. I am dying to know more!
The last 30% of the book was where all shit broke loose and everything happens. It was awesome. The only thing that I didn’t love was that we don’t really find out what happens to the characters personally in the end. Everything is left open. I would have liked a little bit more finality in the end. Especially with all the “couples” are concerned. I just want all of my babies to have their happy endings. I guess that I have to hope that these things will be sorted out in the coming books.
Overall, this was magnificent! I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I have the worst book hangover and I couldn’t be happier about it. If you enjoyed the first two books of this series, then you’ll love this one as well. I definitely recommend this book and this series as a whole. As with the other books in this series, I do recommend them for a mature audience since there are graphic sex scenes in these books.
AMAZING!!!
