Tamlin refuses to believe Feyre could fall in love with Rhysand. Blinded by his love for her, Tamlin takes Feyre back to the Spring Court where she begins to unravel everything around him. All Feyre wants is to go home to the Court of Dreams, but Tamlin has betrayed them to the King of Hybern and for that, he must pay.
While A Court of Mist and Fury focused on building Feyre’s personal relationships with those around her, A Court of Wings and Ruin is going to put those relationships to the test. Feyre walks a thin line as she does all she can to deceive Tamlin and create distrust in the Spring court. To watch Feyre work, readers will be on the edge of their seats waiting for the one moment that would give everything away. Will her temper snap? Will Lucien see through her deceit? It certainly is a page turner.
As Feyre does what she can from the Spring court, Rhysand and the others plan for the larger picture. War is coming to Prythian, led by a King who would rather see the humans once again enslaved. And he has the Cauldron to do his bidding. With the war growing closer and closer as the story progresses Sarah J. Maas ramps up the tension and creates a wonderful mix of angst and anticipation.
And Sarah J. Maas does not let her secondary characters fade into the background. Mor, Cassien, and all the others will have their own parts to play in the war. Readers will feel just as connected to them as they do Feyre and Rhysand. But that also means that if anything happens to them, readers will feel it just as deeply. A Court of Wings and Ruin is a great addition to the series.
Wow, each book in this series just gets better than the last!
I believe ACOWAR is my fave thus far.
This book was intense with so many twists, turns, surprises, and emotions. I love reading a book where I have no idea what’s coming next and I’m gritting my teeth in anticipation. I loved the suspense, the action, and especially the battles.
Sarah J Maas knows how to plot twist. These books would make an amazing movie (or show)
I liked this book much better on this re-read. It has still been a distance of time between the reads that it was like reading the book for the first time. This book had quite a bit of action while continuing to give an in depth look at more of the characters both main and supporting. I enjoy the humor, the wit and the love story.
“Only you can decide what breaks you, Cursebreaker. Only you.”
This story picks up from that previous where Feyre is stuck in the Spring Court under Tamlin (and Lucian) watchful eyes. Still connected to Rhysand, she’s reported she shall attack the Spring Court from the inside to the out – And without too many spoilers, of course she completes this. I was so mad at Tamlin for not seeing through her !! Rhys would totally feel/see her act. But not just that, for falling and trusting all the wrong people. I actually disliked him at the start, to only feel sorry and pity for him at the end. He hasn’t got that entourage/family that Rhys does. But he also only has himself to blame for that. He has lost Feyre and she proves her love and loyalty by returning to the Night Court eventually – with an action adventure on the way of course. Did anyone else feel like you had come home when it quoted Cassian had landed on the ice lake to come to Feyre rescue ???! Ahh
With Feyre then back from Spring Court (and yes I cried when she reunited with Rhys), the story then continues in preparing for war against Hybern. In preparation, we get to meet and get to know the other High Lords of the courts, with a personal favourite – Hellion – High Lord of the Day Court. I loved getting to know all the other High Lords more and for all the politics and debates over the best way to war. Rhys, of course as always, being a great leader.
Then comes the war. Blood is shred. Tears are wept. And I don’t want to go anymore in to it.
Just. Read this book. Please. Read it. You won’t be disappointed.

After being blown away by ACOMAF, I was nervous that this might be a bit of a let down…. of course it wasn’t! After being taken back to the Spring Court by Tamlin, Feyre must find a way back to Rhysand while also finding a way to save the world from Hybern and his army. While the previous book ACOMAF was centered more around Rhysand & Feyre’s relationship, this book focused more on the strategy and action of the war that will soon take place.
If I have learned one thing over these last few books, it’s that Sarah Maas is exceptional at world building and creating complex and multi-dimensional characters to fill her books. Just when I think I understand a character and what drives them, another layer of the onion is peeled away to expose more about the character’s inner workings. I enjoyed all of the additional characters that were brought into the story as well. While we have learned about the different High Lords in previous books, in ACOWAR we get introduced to them on a personal level and watch them work together to save their lands. I also really appreciated that this book introduced LGBTQ couples into this story in such a natural way, even if some were more minor characters in the overall plot.
While I am still 100% Team Rhysand, this book made me fall in love with Azriel more than I had previously! My heart aches for him and I really hope that he finds some happiness in the books to come!
This is not the type of book I would read but it was recommended so I did. I’m now on book 3 of the 5 book series. It has everything. You will not be able to put it down. The Best!!
One of the best books I’ve ever read and listened to. This book wrecked me and gave me all the feels. I’m left with so many questions that I can’t wait to be answered. This story, the world SJM created is simply amazing. I love every moment, even the ones that broke my heart. This book and series was so good that I reread it 2 months after reading it because I had such a need to read it again. This will forever be one of my favorite books.
Updated review (2/6/21) I’m so excited for some of questions to be answered in the next couple weeks. I love this series so much. I love the introduction of new characters and secrets. Epic battles and sad moments. I still cry every time I read certain scenes. Fantastic reread in prep of ACOSF!
This one has it all, the battle, the storyline, the characters, the romance, simply wonderful, I need my own Rhys. Simply fantastic, I know I need more and so I will keep on reading them all. The audiobook is very well narrated and totally recommended to sync with both.
I am looking forward to the next installment of this series. Great storytelling!
I love this series and I felt the need to reread this story, so I caved and here we are.
The first time I read this series I was team Tamlin all the way until under the mountain. I couldn’t wrap my mind around how he didn’t tried to help her once.
Rhys on the other hand was intriguing since the start. Yes he was bad but he never did truly bad things to Feyre. I didn’t understand why I felt such a fascination with this character until this reread.
Rhys is present in this series before we even get to meet him. Feyre always looked to the night sky for comfort and I started to associate it with Rhys unconsciously.
I started to truly see the difference between Tamlin and Rhys on the second book. Tamlin didn’t care for Feyre’s wellbeing while Rhys did everything he could to help her push through her trauma. She never seek one for comfort while she leaned on the other.
I realized that I started to fall for Rhys right along with Feyre, while he still was an enemy. The story was crafted perfectly.
Knowing how everything ended, gave me the opportunity to see things I didn’t saw at first. How wrong Tam was for her, how wicked Ianthe truly was since the beginning. The why of Nesta’s attitude. So many things I didn’t picked up on the first time.
I can’t wait for the next book and see how Nesta’s story is going to unravel.

This book is the last book in the first main storyline (if I understand correctly) and I loveeeeeed it. This has to be my favorite book from the series so far. I am so glad at least one of the characters had some sort of redemption and was back on the “good side”. We’ve gotten so much more of the bromance and the side characters in this book and I absolutely loved it so much. I feel that well developed side characters make a book a lot better, which was the case for this one as well. The relationship between Feyre and Rhys has blossomed so much and he’s such an advocate for equality between men and women and pro girl power. Which, let’s be honest, is just awesome. Feyre has grown into this powerful lady, which made me so happy, seeing where she was coming from. I had some troubles with the pace of the first two books, but this time it was perfect for me! It was balanced well with action, emotions, sexy times, love, warmth, hurt, sadness. I’ve experienced a rollercoaster of emotions with this one. And those battle scene’s were pretty epic if you ask me. Overall, I am very pleased with this installment and the ending!

I LOVE THIS BOOK IT WAS INCREDIBLE
While I wouldn’t say the writing is any better than the first two, the entertainment value alone makes it worth the read. I was very entertained and able to lose myself. And this third act was enjoyable.
LOVE everything written by Sarah J Maas! No one can world or character build like her! Amazing series from the first page til the last. It was the worst of the best book hangovers I’ve ever had – I just never wanted this series to end…..EVER!
These are my favorite books ever!
This novel is an absolute page-turner.
Wow! Lots of action! Feyre is at the Spring Court trying to find out what is going on with Tamlin’s court and what the plans are with the wall. Lucian and Feyre finally escape and try heading back to the Night Court with news but must go through the Autumn Court. With Lucians brothers in pursuit. But Feyre is the High Lady of the Night Court. And mate Rhysand the High Lord of the Night Court. They are finally rescued by The warriors of the Night Court. The King is trying to bring down the wall separating Fae and Humans. Bringing war to Prythian. Then he will kill them enslave the humans.
By far my favorite book by Sarah J Maas!
This book was a great read. These characters and the whole storyline are just captivating. With such great writing, you get drawn right into this world they live in, and don’t want to leave! This book definitely has some moments where your heart just shatters, but there’s also a few funny lines and some sweet moments. Great read!
This book starts out with our heroine Feyre undercover in the Spring Court trying to find out more info on their enemy the King of Hybern and what his plans might be. She also wants a little revenge on Tamlin and Ianthe for betraying them and aiding in the capture of her sisters.
One thing is certain, WAR IS IMMINENT in Prythia. Feyre, Rhysand, and the rest of the Night Court can only hope they can get the other High Lord’s and their courts to ally with them.
Not as good as book 2, but I still liked it. I got a little bit of battle fatigue in this one. Sometimes, when there is a big battle the individual character journey’s and personal stories get lost in the chaos. There were a few reveals that made it intriguing, a couple I saw coming, but some I didn’t at all. Maas is great at throwing a few twists in the plot just to keep you interested.
