The seductive and stunning #1 New York Times bestselling sequel to Sarah J. Maas’s spellbinding A Court of Thorns and Roses.Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people. … lives of Tamlin and his people.
As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. She finds herself split into two different people: one who upholds her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court, and one who lives out her life in the Spring Court with Tamlin. While Feyre navigates a dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms. She might just be the key to stopping it, but only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future-and the future of a world in turmoil.
Bestselling author Sarah J. Maas’s masterful storytelling brings this second book in her dazzling, sexy, action-packed series to new heights.

This series was AMAZING. I absolutely positively loved all 3 books I was blown away by the detail in every single page. I felt all the emotions (even the steamy ones ;P!!!!). Honestly this has to be one of my top favorite series I’ve ever read! I know she has more books and I am DEFINETLY going to binge read them all if they are as good as these 3!
Guys, THE BOOKS ARE AMAZING! I am a hardcore critic but honestly I cannot think of anything that I can say negative about the books.
Maybe (SPOILERS) just MAYBE he ending of A Court of Wings and Ruin (Book 3 last one) where I wish I got more of a happy ending for the others as well…
Other than that this is a solid 5/5 for me 🙂
Side note: I know she has some sort of extra book called a Court of Frost and Starlight but after reading so many negative reviews I am actually going to pass on that. I loved this series so much I don’t want to taint it >.< Can anyone give me another awesome book recommendation like this one?! PLEASE T_T
This is one of my all time favorite books! This is the best book in the series. It has wonderful charter development with all of its characters. It’s action packed and full of surprises. I love the realistic relationships (which is not love at first sight) with more of a realistic approach. The world in which these charter live in is depicted very well in Sarah’s writing. I recommend to everyone I see and they all come back saying they love this series and this book in particular! Enjoy!!!
This book is a masterpiece! I will be thinking about this book for the rest of the month, maybe even longer. It didn’t suffer middle book syndrome and it was honestly better than ACOTAR. I had high hopes for this book because the first one left a mark on me, and it exceeded expectations. Even knowing spoilers from social media didn’t tamper with my feelings and thoughts while I read the book.
All great books have an ending, and this ending was… crazy to say the least. It’s honestly one of my favorite endings I have ever read. I have never felt so strongly about something like this. It rolled be through so many different emotions at once, and it was so beautifully written. I knew before I had even finished the final two chapters that I needed to order the next book ASAP otherwise I might explode because of what Maas left her readers with at the end of the book.
I enjoyed seeing how the characters were dealing with the trauma that occurred near the end of ACOTAR, especially since it created rifts through bonds. It brought out a different side of everyone and it was interesting to see how they responded to each other. So, with that being said, there was definitely character development all throughout the book.
I am so, so happy that answers to the questions formed from ACOTAR are revealed in this book. The answers were satisfying in their own way to find out, and they were definitely ones that I was hoping for. Ones I didn’t expect, but I am more than happy and content with them.
New friendships are formed and new characters are introduced. They are each lovely in their own way and have personalities that make them relatable. I found myself getting confused over who was who since there were two people with names I thought were similar (and the same thing happened with city names), but I got the hang of it after a while.
This book is everything I hoped it would be and more. I enjoyed reading every word and there was never a dull moment. Maas’ writing is beautiful and I could have read this book day and night without putting it down.
So amazing!
I hated this book. I loved the first one, and then in an attempt to be “real” (in a fantasy novel…) the author trashed everything that was good about the first novel. Basically, if this book was the first in a series I would be more on board with a tragic backstory and misunderstood characters but you took an established story that you invested your readers in and then turned around and shat all over it. I made it halfway through before I got disgusted and read the synopsis online. When I saw how the major plot points were going it was laughable. I tried reading the synopsis for the next book and made it maybe a 1/4 through the entry before it was so bad I couldn’t stomach it anymore.
If you like ridiculous drama where EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER has the most tragic backstory you can possibly imagine (except sometimes the villains), and people randomly turn into villains who were the whole fucking hero before, then you’ll love this. If you love drama on level with a soap opera and mediocre main storylines then you are in for a treat.
This is a series that invests itself heavily in the emotion it evokes and little in the world it builds or the cohesive story it presents. I honestly hate this book so incredibly much and there are very few books I actively dislike. Even fewer I couldn’t finish reading.
I would be shocked it’s so popular, but look at Twilight. Ladies love something that grips our emotions and gets us swept up. Guilty of that myself and why I loved the first one. Don’t like an author to turn that joy against me, though.
One high adventure! This was a whirlwind of enchanting moments and breath holding in laments. I feel that when I’m reading this I want to switch my inner voice over to a British accent and I’ve no idea why. I loved all the hidden foreshadowing layered into the first book that I didn’t even realize was there until this second book brought it out into the light!! This was utterly brilliant!! Such huge changes and events took place that completely changes everything that you were so determined to wish for that would come to happen. Rhys is the ultimate book boyfriend, I’d go so far as to say he’s total book husband material I always liked Lucian so well, I’m hoping that he finally grows a spine in the next book. Tamlin is Tamlin… I cannot wait to dip back into this captivating world and see what surprises await and just how my happily ever after is achieved. I am absolutely forevermore a devoted reader of Ms. Mass. She’s introduced me to a whole new world of imagery and literary indulgence
Holy cow, I loved this book. To death. Seriously. For me, it’s one of those books I read and can’t stop thinking about for days after. I couldn’t put this book down. Full of beautiful language and heart-stopping romance, A Court of Mist and Fury was a page-turner that kept me on my toes until the very last page.
In this book the one thing I have got to say I love is the connection that Sarah J Mass ties to the first book in the series. In my review of ACOTAR I said that no scene had an insignificance and when you read this book you will understand why. I love how she adds just the right amount of romance and action and it creates and book you don’t want to put down. The books also has a good amount of detail that makes you FEEL like you are there and not BORED. I found myself rereading certain parts because they were sooo well written. This book is even better than the previous which was also amazing.
Basically I cried. That’s all. It was very emotional and I’m hella glad I read it. Also some very steamy scenes. 10/10 recommend
The second part of the series ‘A court of thorns and roses’. After you’ve read the first part, this one will blow you away with its major plot-twists and even better and more awesome world building and character development. Highly enjoyable and will leave you wanting more.
Love love love
This review contains spoilers.
I don’t even know how to write this review. My heart is pounding, I am aching to take a breath, and this world and these characters are consuming me. This book was an epic piece of mastery.
I was enthralled by the first book in this series. I adored it. I loved the story, the characters, and the plot. Everything was perfect. I gave it 5 stars. While I wouldn’t change that rating by any means after reading the second book, I feel like the second book deserves so many more stars! It was infinitely better than the first book.
The character growth, especially for Feyre, was phenomenal! I really felt for her and her plight after her experiences under the mountain in the first book. The had PTSD, she had no one to help her through it with Tamlin and Lucien running off all the time, and she had all her freedoms taken away from her by Tamlin. She went from being strong and madly in love to being broken and trapped in an abusive relationship. And as the book progressed she found her strength again and overcame her tormentors. She fell in love again and gained friends that cared about her and that she could trust. And they were all fighting for something dear to her heart.
And Rhysand, oh dear lord, Rhysand. Heavens, how I wish that I could just literally fall into a book and live in its glory. Rhysand’s character growth was incredible as well. We get to see a deeper side of him. We get to see those that he cares about and what his heart is made of. We see just how much he has sacrificed for his people and those that he loves. Including Feyre. Rhysand’s background leading up to where he is at the end of this book is very touching. He went through so much in his life and overcame so much. His character is so inspiring.
I loved all the new characters. Mor, Cassian, Amren, and Azriel warm my heart. I loved getting to know each of them. The story truly shone brightly because of these characters. I liked Tarquin as well. I really hope that things aren’t ruined between him and the Night Court forever in the end. He seemed a genuine soul. And I am kind of shipping Amren and Varian. =P
The plot in this book way surpasses that of the last book. The spectrum is so much broader now and it is kind of mind-blowing. The plot is so much thicker than what we see in the first book. There are layers upon layers of complexity. The way that the characters are woven into the plot is nothing short of magical. There were so many surprises that I hadn’t worked out. I was definitely surprised at the extent of the mortal queens and their allegiances. I was even surprised at the mortal queen that helped Feyre and Rhys, though her fate was sad. I was super surprised to see Feyre’s sisters and at what happened to them. The whole end of the book was like a mind warp.
I loved the romance. I loved how Feyre and Rhys grew closer as time went by, even though he already knew that she as his mate. And considering, he showed incredible restraint. Rhys truly cares for Feyre and he gives her all the freedoms she desires, while still protecting her. When she accepted the mating bond I was so ecstatic. I felt all was right with the world.
Overall, I was blown away by this book. It was everything that I hoped it would be and more. I really did have high expectations, and they were all met and surpassed. I can’t even fathom my expectation for the third book. I am definitely going to be reading it! I highly recommend this series, but for mature audiences. This is definitely an adult book as some of the romantic scenes are quite explicit.
AMAZING!!
If I could give this book 6 stars, I would. And, since everything I loved about this book would be considered spoilers, all I can say is very rarely am I completely captivated by a book the entire way through, but this one had me hooked! Well worth the read.
This is probably the book I reread the most.
One of my favorite books ever!
I fucking loved the characters and the world building. Sarah J Maas is an amazing writer, and ai highly recommended this book for anyone who reads YA and loves to read. But be sure to read the first book (of course).
Love anything by this author!!
RHYSSSSS
Wonderful world building and fabulous characters. The relationships are complicated and deep. A great read!
